That's kinda dumb since Awakening had it. Although I never put the JP Voice acting on because it makes me feel like a weeb :v:
Well ain't that a kick in the dick
I know a lot of people who were complaining about the localized voice acting and were planning on cancelling their pre-order if the dual audio was cut. I wonder why it was. Space restrictions?
Which is weird since the US version is already taking up a lot more space and having seeming technical lag / issues in comparison to the JAP version, so it makes me wonder what the hell they could be doing? I wouldn't be surprised if it was space or the Treehouse just deciding to not bother unlike Awakening.
That's kinda dumb since Awakening had it. Although I never put the JP Voice acting on because it makes me feel like a weeb :v:
I rarely had it on in Awakening since it was broken as shit (when you boot up the game you have to manually switch to JP every time, it doesn't remember the setting unless you're watching a cutscene). Come to think of it maybe that's why it was dropped in the first place, because they couldn't figure out how to have that stop happening.
But it was better than nothing, come on now.
If it was because of size issues they could have done the same thing ultra despair girls for the vita did, release the game with an optional 1.5GB patch to add the japanese voice acting.
Yeah I can't really think of a proper reason to remove it. Especially because they're on 2 carts anyway.
Did the Japanese version have dual audio too?
I wonder if they ever complain that they don't get options cause to me, personally, it seems like one of the biggest "who cares".

I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they do that after/on release day. But honestly it makes too much sense for them to do. :v:
Space restrictions?
Nope. The Japanese special edition combined version is about 1.7GB. All the DLC for the game (including Revelations, which is on the NA special edition card) is only about half a gig, so the NA special edition combined version should sit somewhere around 2GB. The regular split versions are even less, obviously.
I looked around for what the largest retail game on 3DS is, and I found that Bravely Default sits at 3.2GB. So they should've been able to do dual audio, even for the combined special edition (assuming that would be the version with the most concern for space). I really hope it'll have a DLC option like Dr.Scrake said, but given that we haven't heard anything about that I have doubt.
Weird decisions after weird decisions. Without mentioning the whole performance fuck-up.
NOA, what are you doing!
Performance was a debug build I thought
NOA, what are you doing!
treating their fans like shit but people still eat it up
If you're not playing FE Fates on a hacked 3DS running the JP version with a fan translation, you're not playing it the way God intended it.
treating their fans like shit but people still eat it up
Seriously. This is the worst handling I've ever seen from something first-party Nintendo, Fire Emblem's my jam, it's the reason I bought the system, I love it more than any of their franchise, but just, fuuuuuuuck every decision made about this trio of games
Fates looks iffy.
Hyrule Warriors Legends looks iffy too...
Man... I'm a bit sad now to be frank. I was looking forward to both so I had something to do until Zelda U.
I'm thinking about holding off on HWLegends and buy it later. I loved HW so far but I have this feeling the content in Legends will eventually end up on Wii U as DLC or a definitive version. Just this stupid little hunch.
I'll have to play Fates to find out if all this weird stuff was worth it but knowing myself, I'll enjoy it since my standard for good games boils down to "I had fun playing it." That's it.
They removed head pats and that's literally it. That's not treating fans like shit, that's just localization because they felt it was too over the top for the overseas crowd what the hell.
Same with dual audio, it's something they never once promised or even mentioned and stamping your feet and crying about it just comes off as entitled whining like seriously now.

This is the exact reason why big name developers treat their customers like dirt. The Eng version runs poorly, removed a feature that a lot of people would of really liked that was present in the previous game and removed a feature that was only removed because it may upset some people.
Entitled? Yes we are, entitled to experience a product the way it was intended to, not a product that was censored and butchered by a select few people that don't know what they're doing.
And yes, I'm not going to buy it.
And then there are the issues that I have with it that don't even come from localization. Buying the game three times to get all of the stories, when it was originally shown as some sort of decision you'd be making in game; the delay between the two split games coming out and then the final path; how several of the characters are locked behind 13$ Physical DLC that had laughably terrible print runs and were never physically available anywhere nearby me; and even on top of that there's going to be extra dlc down the line for the extra classes and maps.
Nintendo used to be really great about making a game that you could buy and just own, now it's garbage like this that's over a hundred dollars, pushing two if you look at the extras realistically
White Knight and insult me all you want for it, call it crying whatever, I'm going to have some standards over series I care about and would want to support
What exactly are the performance issues in the NA version?

Uh, English version runs fine. Gamexplain did a stream showing off the final version and it's the exact same as the Japanese version performance wise.
You're literally whining about headpats getting removed. You're not getting robbed out of anything.
What exactly are the performance issues in the NA version?
Someone made a webm of a debug build that had slow loading in battles and cut out music. It got taken out of context and spread around and now it's just general misinformation.

GX's stream from earlier today
Yeah, I was confused about that because I was watching GX's video earlier and didn't see any performance issues, but I kept seeing people bring it up on FP.

You can complain about the game getting split up but it's like that in the Japanese version too so??? It also doesn't help that each game is as long as awakening by itself so it's not like you're getting only half a game.
Also you say several characters but it turns out it's literally just 4 characters that don't have supports or anything rendering them completely useless next to this games cast. Also can we not do the physical dlc meme thing, this isn't /v/
I will say though it would be nice for nintendo to offer amiibo cards for fates so people aren't forced to buy from scalpers if they want to recruit the FE Smash bros squad. I have all of the FE dudes just because I liked them anyway but it's pretty shit for people who weren't as fortunate as me.

And it's not a meme, it's a legitimate complaint.

I see Marth's and Ikes at my store in the middle of the states all the time so I wasn't aware they were hard to come by still. The restocks really helped my area at least.
Though yeah cards being a cheap alternative would be fine. It's really weird that they said they'd be doing them yet all we see are the AC ones for uh, some reason.
treating their fans like shit but people still eat it up
Because Nintendo treats their NA fans well, but treats their European and Japanese fans way better. Majority of people don't care enough to boycott Nintendo until the market treatment balances out (myself included, honestly). As long as they have their Pokemon and Smash Bros., they're good.
And it's not a meme, it's a legitimate complaint.
Complaining about amiibos is fine, not liking them is fine but they're not physical dlc lol. That phrase is -literally- a meme.
Honestly the thing that pisses me off the most is that if I want to have both games on 1 cartridge I have to pay $200 from some shitty scalper on Ebay
Complaining about amiibos is fine, not liking them is fine but they're not physical dlc lol. That phrase is -literally- a meme.
They are objects that lock content in the game behind a paywall. It's the best way or wording it, isn't it? Whatever though, I'm -literally- done trying to show valid -literal- criticisms since I'm -literally- wrong

Oh wait are they both on 1 cart in the SE? I thought it was just both carts handed to you in one box or something.

Chill dude, seriously. As stated before all your missing out on is 4 cameo characters that aren't even useful.

When was I whining? You fail to realize that it's an issue of censorship, not because it's head patting.
