Post-Timeskip you just become the Jeigan
And if they introduce an Avatar-type character, this one either trains the next generation or, if he's married, the child becomes available and can be customized.
They probably wouldn't do that.
If they absolutely had to do a timeskip and all the circumstances that implies, IS seems like they'd just timewarp the Avatar into the future. They just seem to want to have the best of both generational factors while using [sp]time in some method or form[/sp] as a general excuse.
So I heard the Meiji-era Phoenix Wright game won't be released in the west, and I'm kind of disappointed. Any hope for a fan translation, or should I just learn Japanese?

Whoa, I'm outta the loop. Meiji Restoration Phoenix Write game? That actually sounds kinda neat.
Also, I gave Legend of Legacy a shot, but...goodness, that game is a bore and a half. Not a lot of strategy involved and story seems pretty eh. Sucks too, the art style was very nice to look at.
How long has Yuri Lowenthal been the english VA for Marth?

I ended up really hating the battle system of that game. I somehow beat it anyway, and the story never actually happens.

With that artwork, he looks a lot younger and kinda work(?). Having a young face/pretty boy face, I can't imagine Marth with a deep voice but this one is WAY too much.

For once I actually think Yuri Lowenthal's voice works. Although I think it would have been way better if they just had Marth always speak in Japanese in all the games he appears in as some sort of inside joke.

Yes, there's a fan translation in the works. No clue how long it'll take to complete since it's such a dialogue heavy game though.

I'm hoping for another Guakuten Kenji 2. That fan translation was amazing quality.

I think the team translating right now got a few people from the AAI2 team and pretty much the entire team that was working on the fanslation of FE:if before, so it seems like they're a competent bunch. They're not giving any updates before the first patch hits in fear of a C&D though.

I really wish more fan projects had the smarts to do this. I understand wanting to show your work and gain support, but it's not worth potentially losing it all. If you can at least get version 1 out there, then the companies can't do shit. It's out there.
Miles Edgeworth Investigations 2 was really good, and the translation was really well-made too. I can't understand why Capcom didn't just translate it and put it on the Eshop, but eh, I guess Capcom was just in their fuck-up period around the time AAI2 came out.
Anyways, I don't rerember hearing that the The Great Ace Attorney translation got cancelled. I understand that people speculate it got cancelled, seeing as what happend with AAI2, but perhaps the translation team is too busy translating the upcoming Ace Attorney 6 and Capcom didn't want to spend more money to translate both games at the same time? It would be logical if AA6 got priority, seeing as it's not a spin-off (I don't know if they start translating games already before they're released at Capcom though, so this is also just speculation).
Or maybe they just aren't making a lot of progress on The Great Ace Attorney translation and it just went under the radar for a while?
Edit:
Would be cool if someone had a reliable source.

I'm pretty sure it was never confirmed that The Great Ace Attorney would get an official translation in the first place.

Current official status: They didn't say it would never come westward, but currently they have no plans at all for it. They never announced that it was being worked on in the first place.
However, they have confirmed that AA6 will come west. They were very quick to announce that. So my guess is that they just said "fuck it" for GAA.

I get the feeling that it was removed partially to appease the PC crowd who probably wouldn't have played the game anyway but had a dominating grab on gaming journalism sites, it's just that Nintendo Treehouse probably couldn't garnish their paychecks since it'd be other people outside their circle voicing the other characters*. i mean in the Japanese version, do they have dialogue beyond the skinshipping? otherwise that's shaving down hundreds of lines of dialogue to dub.
Otherwise it could just be a case of minimizing on voice actors. it's probably edging close to merchandising since Smash by it's nature has to have updates on a worldwide scale so they probably ran out of time to milk Fates' development time. EU probably has it the worst since Fire Emblem is one of those large games that they can't do semi-derivative translations (EU tends to be more closer to JP, in terms of content and translation) and separate dubbing vs something more simpler like Pikmin 3, Yoshi's Woolly World or Advance Wars: Days of Ruin/Dark Conflict. (guess at least we might be getting Mother 3 out of it if rumors are true)
Probably even worse in EU if they have to dub voices of tens of characters 4-5 times each for each language supported (reusing the US dub for english?). supposedly NT re-discusses things with NoJ about stuff then modify games slightly further but not wholly in proportion to how much things actually cost. so removing something like a breast slider could get like 10k dollars per person whereas simple debugging client-side might take under a week to change and debug.
* Like Chris Pranger: who voiced a character in Star Fox Zero who wound up fired for doing a podcast which resulted in all his lines being rerecorded.
I dunno, literally the only thing removed from fates is the ability to grab someone's face which is more of a localization thing then censoring because of those dang SJW's.
Jeez guys can't we stop the whole disagree and dumb-marking already? So far every post where someone states they're okay with the translation gets disagree/dumb-marked. You can be grieving about your localisation changes as much as you want but the whole marking thing is getting kinda childish. Just accept that people have different tastes regarding the localisation for god's sake.
Edit:
I'll take that as a ''No'' then :v:
Obvious solution:
Have Intelligent Systems create a new, medieval visual novel IP with the same artists and have that include petting.
Fire Emblem stays an RPG instead of shoehorning time-travelling babbeys into it, people that are there to ship their avatar with their waifu/husbando get a game series entirely around it by Nintendo. Everyone wins.

As nice as that would be, I can't help but feel IS will be avoiding any more new IP's, after how their last one did

Fates is kind of in trouble in the west if the nets anything to go by. There's such a colossal fucking whirlwind of misinformation it's unreal and depending where you are on the net if you try to point out the obvious you get attacked or in FP's case rating bombed (though seriously turn ratings off, they don't matter at all).
People are bloodthirsty and looking for ANY reason they can find to complain about it.
(though seriously turn ratings off, they don't matter at all).
I'd rate this agree, except I also have ratings turned off.

I saw copies of Codename Steam for 15 dollars the other day and I was tempted to buy like, 3 of them to give to random people. I really enjoyed that game.

I think it is a mixture of built up frustration, along with Nintendo not addressing the audience directly, which I think is the main source of the anger.
There is a lot of resentment and mistrust against sites like Gawker, and it frustrated the internet that Nintendo wouldn't directly verify anything that was said by them, and that people had to wait for review copies to get confirmation.
It also doesn't help that a certain Treehouse member has been very antagonistic on Twitter for a while now, which has fed into the mistrust of Nintendo Treehouse in general.
Okay, here's something odd.

If it doesn't autoscroll to the time, you're looking for 42:50. Gamespot was asked directly about the face-petting mechanic, and they said it's still there, you just have to marry the person to get access to it, you can't just do it to anyone.

It's one of those things where I'm kinda split.
Yeah I can understand wanting answers right away on rumors of what's getting removed/changed or whatever but at the same time could you imagine how busy they'd be if they had to answer every little thing that comes up? I bet right now they're getting a mailbox full of "IS STAR FOX REALLY DELAYED?!" ontop of everything else.
Nintendo has never been that transparent so I'm not sure why people are expecting it to start instantly.

It is probably because they went out of the way to put this statement out about the 'drugging' scene earlier in the month.

There's a difference between "potential drugging scene" and "the ability to rub people's faces," though I do agree this kinda feels a little off.
Reviews are out and guess what face rubbing is still in the english version. Now it's only with your wife/husband though instead of just calling in people at random to do it.
Wonder how this'll be spun into a bad thing.
E: Nah, it's still the same hearts shooting out or whatever. It's just restricted to S ranks according to some other people.
