Butoden 2 if you pre-ordered Super Butoden specifically through Amazon, if I'm remembering correctly?

Pretty much, you got Super 2 from pre-ordering Extreme.
You would think they would want to fucking tell us these Fates details so the angry mob calms down.
I'm personally still pissed at Nintendo over their lack of communication. Is it really that hard to just tell us these things? Literally all it would've taken was a rep saying that it's still there, just only available for S-rank support characters. Instead they choose vague statements like "it's not there, maybe" and "gay marriage is definitely there. that's what you guys wanted right? :)"
And then there's the whole Soleil controversy where instead of telling us if they actually changed it, they give the vaguest statement ever in the form of "there's nothing bad in the game's script :)"
Eh, like I said before, they probably don't feel it's in their interest to reply to every single rumor or controversy. "If we respond to one, a million more will spring up just for attention." etc.
Especially when it comes to Soliel who wasn't correct in the first place. Like that character is completely harmless when you see the script yourself, it was just a tumblr user shitting themselves over a language they didn't understand and it going viral. Nintendo shouldn't have to respond to things like that because it's just one person being a fucking idiot.

I dunno, I feel like when it gets to the point where people are cancelling their pre orders out of spite it's at least worth a line or two from them.

Yeah which they did, it just wasn't as 100% clear as some people wanted.
Person started a nasty, nasty rumor about one of the characters and stirred up controversy that was never there. -> Journalist without doing ANY research at all continued to report on the random tumblr blog for clickbait articles, people became aware. -> Nintendo said "the scene isn't what you think there's nothing offensive." -> People continue to complain they aren't specifying 100% exactly what they meant.
To me that's doing enough, it's how the fanbase and those who know about the current situation choose to take it from there. It shouldn't be Nintendo's job to babysit.

Nintendo is great with their official announcements, their Directs are a great part of them.
But that's where it ends, and it ends hard. They're terrible with communication, otherwise. Want to get any other kind of information out of them? Nope, you're getting nothing.
Obvious solution:
Have Intelligent Systems create a new, medieval visual novel IP with the same artists and have that include petting.
Fire Emblem stays an RPG instead of shoehorning time-travelling babbeys into it, people that are there to ship their avatar with their waifu/husbando get a game series entirely around it by Nintendo. Everyone wins.
Fire Emblem Awakening was potentially going to be the last game in the FE series if it didn't do well.
Considering it did remarkably well with this system, I really doubt Fire Emblem will be dropping it or any of its waifu features any time soon.

To those who were waiting for Amazon to stock the Pokemon New 3DS.
It wouldn't let me progress through the survey until I had selected Memes as something I wanted to see more of.
Feels like market research has a agenda.
I just selected memes as something I want to see on platforms I don't actually use. My apologies for Google+ and Pinterest users.
So I watched a few streams and did some more reading from reviewers who have their copies of Fates, and it turns out that petting actually isn't in the game, for sure this time.
The current rumor going around is that it is in for married couples in the game, but this isn't true. Married couples have 'bonding events' that can occur, such as finding your significant other asleep when you go back to your room (which allows you to rub them to wake them up) and other such small snippets of interaction (like using the system mic to blow steam off of them when they get out of the bath). You cannot, however, actually pet them Pokemon-Amie-style like you can in the JP version. Other than those small events, they just spit one voice line out at you and it kicks you back to your room. We're still losing all the other smaller voice lines the characters had in this mode.
Fortunately, if you have a homebrew-enabled 3DS, Team If over at Serenes Forest is already making plans for a set of 'restoration patches', which let you create your ideal version of the game using any version (Japanese or English) as a base. Petting, Japanese audio, fan translation for NA or official NA text for JP. I hope they succeed, because this sounds great.

They also seem to have removed most of the swimsuit items you could buy, as seen on a recent GameSpot stream. RIP.

This is all stuff that comes from upgrading buildings, there's literally no way to know if it's removed or not unless they had the fully upgraded building in the stream (which I hear they didn't).
Gotta gunjump tho.

I've seen that, but that doesn't confirm that the swimsuit items are still there, just that characters can show up in them in the bathhouse. That scene also raises the question of whether the bathhouse interaction is fully intact or if it's been toned back. I've been combing other videos for more bathhouse content but I just can't find anything...
Still searching for more information. That's why I said it seems like they've been removed based on this picture floating around, because I can't confirm it.

Actually I just finally found a little bit of info: http://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-fates/my-castle/accessory-shop/
According to this, there should be at least the Risque Swimsuit and Bath Towel in the level 1 accessory shop.
I can confirm that those items are supposed to be in the shop at the beginning.
Not really surprised that they'd be removed. At the end of that video, thats just Elise's default underwear.
Surprised that ISNT censored.
Huh, nevermind then. Was reading all over the place that the photo was unlockable stuff and not all there at the start :v:

Thanks, was just about to post more info from a GameFAQs post I found from someone else who's played the game. That giant bow icon tacked onto the top image is apparently the image creator showing that the GameSpot playthrough does in fact have a max-level accessory shop. Person also said they were past chapter 20, which is when the max-level shop is unlocked.
So all swimsuits other than the Love Swimsuit (unlocked after reaching max affection with your spouse) should be in there, if I'm understanding this correctly.

Well technically that's correct, but since this picture has been spread all over and out of the original context it was posted in, the explanation of the bow icon indicating a max-level shop was lost.
I will say it is kinda funny in a way that while yeah it's stripping away content that in a way it's actually making the game more realistic (I'm using that term because I honestly have no idea what other one would work)
Seeing this stuff and hearing about it it's sometimes hard to forget this is a war game, I'm not entirely sure why you'd send your units out in swimsuits in this setting let alone call them to your room to grope at their faces 10 seconds after meeting them. Like if I'm being honest with myself 100% I do think it's kinda lame to see stuff get taken out but at the same time I think it kinda improves it. I'm trying not to sound like I 100% agree with the choices but it just doesn't impact the game enough for me care I guess.
I'm rambling a bit, sorry.
The uh, swimsuits you could equip didnt show up in battle at all, its not even an option. They actually only show up in the bath house cutscenes. All the units wear their classes's outfit in combat.
So I'd call that cut content.
Just shy of Eight Full months for the official Translation. And we haven't seen signs of anything at all, anything that's been improved or added, just content they're cutting out. They could at least not make us wait the extra month for the last third of the game, but even that we still get on a delay.
As mediocre as the game itself was, at least the Final Fantasy Explorers port included it's DLC.
It just upsets me. I just want to get excited about the game, but just
The lack of dual audio and bad voice acting is what did it in for me.
I'm just going to patch the japanese version once Serenes Forest finishes, though I think their current translated build is functional enough.
