Well I can understand that if you bought one version of the game, you legitimately have to download the entire other version. But simultaneously the special edition is a cart that has both stories on it, so it's not like they couldn't of essentially done that with every version (although if they did, i'm pretty damn sure someone with a hacked 3DS would've easily broken that unlock, so yeah).
To be fair, none of the Fire Emblem plots have really been groundbreaking (at least from the one's I've played)
E: You kinda said that woops
It's particularly funny here though because they hired some mangaka/writer (Shin Kibayashi) to do the basic story outline and they still ended up with some garbage storytelling. We gotta take over Hoshido so when King Totallynotevil sits on the throne of truth he'll be revealed as a evil goop monster!![/sp]

I'm noticing a small but recurring trend in recent years where someone external gets brought into a game's writing to do the base outline, which is usually pretty good conceptualization stuff, and then the developer's own writing team takes over from there and completely ruins it all.
Well shit, I wish I knew there was no world map on Conquest. I would've bought that one first from the get-go. I just assumed both versions had the world map.
I just hope that Birthright Hard isn't a complete and utter cakewalk like Awakening Hard was.

As said before Birthright is a fairly difficult game (though not as complex)
It's just the fact you can grind in it is what makes it easier as you're not limited to funds or exp or supports or whatever. If you play through it with no grinding and just go mission to mission they're almost even.
Wait, if I buy Conquest then decide to buy Birthright and Revelations on the E-Shop, do I pay $20 for both, or $20 for each?
You pay 20 ewch

How do I homebrew my new 3ds anyhow
Picked up my special edition of fates.
Artbook is super nice.

Yeah and I was surprised to only see one cartridge in it. Was expecting two alongside a code for early Revelations.
Sadly, I also just received before going off to work. It's for the better to be honest... I easily lose track of time, especially on brand new games.
I'm scared to know how many hours I'll spend on Zelda U's launch day...

Hope you enjoyed Tharja as a character because that's all you're getting.

Actually now that I'm looking you got Conquest, the answer you're looking for is no there is no girl love.

You get Niles instead.
Does the discount for the second half of the game still apply if you get them all digital?

n-no....
Despite Berserker being my favourite class, I made my avatar a Lancer, due to the almost non-existant limelight that the Soldier archetype gets.

Lancer has some great skills
Any idea when Europeans are going to get Fates on the E-Shop?
Or is it still unknown?
My special edition pre order was cancelled because GameStop is an excellent business.
Since the game is out now, I hope we get a non-confirmation biased list of what has actually been removed and what is in.
I was originally dead set against getting this game due to the removal of the skinship mini-game thinking actual progression was going to be hurt, but now I am on the fence since the statistical bonus rewards weren't removed, but I am not a fan of how the dubbing turned out.
I am just waiting on that list now.
Sticking with the base class that lets you go Dragon.
And the new behind the shoulder camera makes me CRAVE a Musou Fire Emblem game.

Fire Emblem is definitely the type of series that would benefit from a Musou game. So many characters that could get in, especially those who never have a chance at Smash Bros.
FE, unlike Zelda, doesn't have incarnations so the game won't end up with 3 Links like HWLegends. And would have ended as much better game then the crossover one.
You know, with all the complaining everyone's been doing here, I'm surprised people are actually buying the game.

People will complain about censorship, bad localization factors and otherwise, but we'll probably end up buying the game anyways because it's more and (relatively) fresh Fire Emblem, especially those more interested in the gameplay side of things. At least it wasn't bad enough that it became another Modern Warfare 2 failed boycott.
Would I be able to transfer a save file from Conquest to the Special Edition, or would I just have to start over?
You can be ambivalent towards something and still buy it. There's things I didn't care for or like about the Xenoblade X localization but I didn't consider them to detract from the game enough to not buy it, for instance.
Holy shit I cannot beat chapter 5 on lunatic, is this meant to be possible

[sp] Don't worry about lobster brother. I don't think it matters if he dies on that chapter. [/sp]

It's like people just want to play and enjoy video games.
How peculiar.
Jackass aside, in the end, video games are a form of entertainment. FE:Fates changes do not affect the gameplay in any major way so you are still playing a good game.
[sp] Don't worry about lobster brother. I don't think it matters if he dies on that chapter. [/sp]
Im more worried about everyone except corrin going down in 1 hit, when there's 12 enemies on-screen (8 of which are mages!)
For the standard edition of FE are the other 2 routea already on the cartridge and you just unlock them by buying on the E-Shop or do I need to download the entire thing?
Im more worried about everyone except corrin going down in 1 hit, when there's 12 enemies on-screen (8 of which are mages!)
[sp]Let Ryoma die, it doesn't matter. He doesnt even actually die
The best way to do this fight is to bait the enemies with with the other characters, I recall the upper left and right side of the map work well for this, and have corrin take on everyone else.
And avoid letting wyrmslayers get the first hit on Corrin, But if he attacks first they'll probably die.
[/sp]
Despite what that chapter would have you believe, Corrins dragon powers are really lack luster. Using a sword is just better by default.
