i can't wait for pokemon [del]X2 and Y2[/del] B3 and W3
Has anyone here played the IOS/Android version of The world ends with you? I've been meaning to replay the ds version for some time but i'm kinda curious about the mobile version. I looked up all the changes they made and i like most of them except for the changes to the battle system (i know it was kinda unavoidable because one screen but still).

However, I havn't played the mobile version because I'm still on my second run though the game to complete all the chapter missions. To what extend did you beat TWEWY? As far as I know, you get the ''true ending'' after you beat the last chapter again after completing all the chapter missions. If you have a save where you still have to complete all the chapter missions, and you want to see the ''true ending'', you might want to do that first. Because I guess if you start all over again on the mobile version you'll have to beat that one twice too if you want to see the true ending. If you have already gotten to the true ending I guess it can't hurt giving the mobile version a shot. I heard it got received pretty well, with the only criticism being that the (amazing) dual-screen combat had to be changed (and that it wasn't TWEWY 2, like everyone hoped).
Its my favorite ds game so i played through it many times and did pretty much everything that there was to do. Its been like 3-4 years since i last played it tho.
The mobile version is pretty bad. The whole point of TWEWY was the dual-screen combat, and they took that out in the mobile version. Half the game's combat is done automatically for you. I absolutely LOVE this game, I can't in good conscience let anyone play the mobile version over the DS version.
Ah ok thats what i wanted to hear. Thanks.
Nah ill skip it i think.
And apparently, tomorrow's Pokemon possible reveal got leaked. Not a fan of Pokemon but I sure am not a fan of fucking leaks.
Pokemon: Solar Eclipse
So, localization drama and weeb bait aside, how good is FE Fates? How different are the campaigns? Do they warrant a split release?
And apparently, tomorrow's Pokemon possible reveal got leaked. Not a fan of Pokemon but I sure am not a fan of fucking leaks.
So what is it :v:?
So, localization drama and weeb bait aside, how good is FE Fates? How different are the campaigns? Do they warrant a split release?
I think its ok. My opinion on fates: Hoshido has the best plot, but is easier than awakening. Game play is pretty boring. Nohr has the best game play, but the plot is probably the worst plot FE has put out. Invisible has a very bland plot, and decent gameplay. My issues with the game, localization 100% aside: -There is a very heavy bias against the Nohr Characters in the plot -Everyone is a total idiot in the Nohr Side plot -The invisible plot consists of [sp]a kingdom that you cant talk about unless you're in that kingdom, so you literally go up to every character in the game and say "Come fight with me but I cant tell you why", and then convince everyone to jump off a cliff with any reason why, jumping off the cliff is how you get to the kingdom, but you can't talk about that. Its not very believable, and its very repetitive[/sp] -The purchase and DLC system undermine the decision, I don't understand why there isn't more of a backlash to this, if some other company pulled this they'd be burned immediately. -The Hoshido characters are all pretty bad stat wise, save for the Royals and Oboro -The Dragon Vein system is interesting, but further promotes "Royals only" gameplay -Corrins Dragon powers are very lack luster, using a sword is a flat upgrade. I don't even get why he has them. -The child system in this game is tacked on and thinking about it pokes holes into the plot -The game isn't particularly balanced.Sorcerers got the biggest nerf of a life time, they specifically use dark tomes. They Nerfed Nosferatu because it was op in awakening, but then also removed every other dark tome in the game. So you literally have a class that specifically uses Nosferatu, and that attack is pretty bad now. Theres a DLC class that literally does everything Sorc does but better. I mean these aren't game killer issues, but they're things that rub me the wrong way about this game.
The problems with the plot is the fact that the Nohr siblings are fucking idiots. Like the basic premise of "Working under the big bad while being good" falls apart when they are literally ignoring all the war crimes and how insane Garon is. These are all very early story beats but at one point upon seeing you alive Garon goes "Shit I thought that would kill you for sure!" while his cronies are screaming "KILL CORRIN KILL CORRIN KILL CORRIN." Garon silences them and outstretches his arms before calling on the voice of dragon satan on what to do with you. The result is a suicide mission. Xander is in the same room they are (and so are some of the siblings) and he turns to you and winks "Heh, tolda it was gonna work out okay :D" and Corrin in the face of all this is "Thanks for the second shot dad!" Like oh my god are you serious. In Birthright you meet one of the Nohr siblings early on and tell them about how Garon tried to kill you in the tutorial like 5 times and it's why you joined Hoshido. The sibling goes "Wait shit really? Yeah betraying us makes sense." only for another Nohr sibling to slide in going "Nuh uh he would NEVER do that." before the two Nohrs escape like idiots. The Nohr side is just so amazingly stupid and it's not something that could be blamed on the translation. If you pick the Conquest side the Hoshido siblings ask why you took Conquest and Corrin's response is just "Man I don't know." and he just goes with it. They really should of just had Birthright alone and found a way to work the conquest maps into it because the Conquest story is a comedy instead of whatever it's trying to be. As for the characters I found a lot of their stats useful, the reason Royals are so good though is because most of them come with custom weapons that are actively better then anything, Ryoma alone is fucking unkillable and on Birthright can slaughter entire maps by himself with little to no issue. It's comical how busted he is. In Birthright I benched Sakura almost instantly and your Sky Knight sister or whatever got to come along on missions but her stats were abysmal so I should of benched her as well. It was mostly Kagero, Kaze, Mozu, Hana and Amaza for me. Everyone else out of the not-royals I chose were just kinda there like Silas (they weren't useless but didn't leave much of a impression). Don't really agree that Dragon Veins made it lean to Royals, especially given the fact that Corrin can use them so if you didn't want to basically cheat with Ryoma then you didn't have to. Will agree most of Birthright's maps were okay to boring. They were still better then awakenings shitty maps but ech
The thing is they could have done something interesting with the Hoshido vs Nohr dynamic but instead Nohr is irredeemably evil while Hoshido can do no wrong. It's almost insulting to people who wanted to play Conquest over Birthright.
I like the idea of "you work underneath the big bad villain to cause change from the inside" but it's just sooooo poorly handled when your group moving for change is this idiotic and blind. [editline]25th February 2016[/editline] Elise, someone who for some reason has her own faction despite being a literal child, thinks "Quelling a rebellion" means "go to the rebellion leader and ask them to please stop, then eat dinner together and have fun." This is not how you make someone innocent, this is how you make someone a idiot.
Hinoka is actaully a really powerful unit if you reclass her to Lancer. It shits on her backstory though, since she's written around her horse. Pegasus Knight is a shit class. Sakura is a healer in the easiest route, so she's not really required. Elise is a flat upgrade to her. Takumi Ryoma Marx and Leon are insanely good units to use. Camilla is the best character in the game with the best stats. Another issue I have with the Nohr Bias, is that you gain pretty much all the Hoshidos first in Invisible route, the Nohrs come much later, and they're underleveled. My playthrough ended up being only the royals because they're really the only ones that can be relied to do shit without grinding.
The thing is they could have done something interesting with the Hoshido vs Nohr dynamic but instead Nohr is irredeemably evil while Hoshido can do no wrong. I mean lets just look at their kingdoms: [t]http://i.imgur.com/9brof6c.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/FEdRQGd.jpg[/t] Wonder which one I'd pick to live in. He doens't even hide the fact he wants Kamui dead.
I love that there's dedicated cutscenes to Garon sitting on his throne wondering what he could do to fuck with Corrin next. Like this is how he spends his free time [editline]25th February 2016[/editline] Also those pictures got me so excited for shit like floating cities and high fantasy stuff, I'm kinda down on the fact everything in game (so far that I've seen) is rather normal.

The thing that bothers me the most in the Conquest campaign has to be [sp]"Wow! And we managed to stop the rebellion / Defeat this army / Break through the enemy line, etc -- AND WE DID IT WITHOUT KILLING ANYONE. AREN'T WE GREAT, WE JUST KNOCKED EVERYONE UNCONSCIOUS. WITH OUT SPEARS AND AXES. AND NOONE GOT HURT. SO IT'S FINE, WE'RE GOOD GUYS TOO, SEE"[/sp] That, and how you're never given any reason to actually join them in the first place. [sp] Your only experience with the characters in game is having them order you to kill prisoners, then being sent on an obvious suicide mission, out in the barren wastes that is your kingdom, complete with a character blatantly chosen to kill you. Then once you meet up with the Hoshidans, You're allowed to do everything you want, free to finally see the world, it's clear your memories are coming back and you know they're you're actual family.[/sp] Would anyone have picked Conquest as their first playthrough, if the game wasn't touted as having better designed maps? Also, I'm not terribly far in the campaign yet, but is there an ingame reason that like, 1/3rd of my army is blatantly just the children characters from Awakening?
Also, I'm not terribly far in the campaign yet, but is there an ingame reason that like, 1/3rd of my army is blatantly just the children characters from Awakening?
Theres a DLC chapter that explains some of them. But some of them are just copy paste designs. Like I know Owain, Inigo and Severa are actually the same character. While Not-Tharja is just a new character.
So what is it :v:?
Have you checked literally any gaming news site today? It's everywhere. But I guess I can tell you anyway, spoilered for those who don't want to know: [sp]Nintendo of Europe's new trademarks, filed today, accidentally leaked on a public trademark office website. The new Pokemon games are "Pokemon Sun" and "Pokemon Moon". Nintendo is known to register lots of possible Pokemon version names to be sure they can stamp out anyone else from possibly using them, but this listing even has fancy new logos attached. It's 99% certain that they're making Pokemon Sun and Moon, and it's probably what will be revealed tomorrow based on the timing.[/sp]
So the Beach Brawl and Boo Camp DLC for Fates is out, if anyone had already purchased it. Boo Camp is nothing like Awakening's EXPonential Growth map. The enemies scale to the story's level and gives you standard experience and can still attack you unprovoked. It's mostly for Conquest. Does anyone know how the AI on that map functions? It's seemingly random if the enemies choose to attack you or to run away to their escape point, and it's gotten me killed twice.
Isn't Boo camp called something completely different in the japanese? Why call it the most generic shit they can think of?
This is the same company that released a trailer called "The Super Spoopy Fatal Frame 5 Trailer" or some crap on Youtube, though
This one, yes.
Didn't they submit that trailer with that name in particular as a joke, though?
Isn't Boo camp called something completely different in the japanese? Why call it the most generic shit they can think of?
Treehouse thinks they are being funny for some reason.
Isn't Boo camp called something completely different in the japanese? If the map name bothers you enough just close your eyes and hit A to select it and it's suddenly gone.
Treehouse thinks they are being funny for some reason.
The thing is they actually are, but localizing games using the same tone doesn't work. Something like Uprising or Tomodachi Life or Animal Crossing benefits from playing hard and fast with the original text and plenty of rewrites. Something like FE which is generally more serious (mostly: lines like "Ike, the father of Sothe's children" definitely have their place) does not benefit from that same sort of rapid fire jokes heavily rewritten tone.

There's literally a map featuring you beating people up with umbrella's at the beach.
Has anybody tried Bravely Second? FIre Emblem Fates has yet to receive a release date here in Australia and I want something to play on the train.
