That makes two of us, then.
Me three. I saw the trailer for it yesterday, and man, it looks good. Although I still don't get if it's a real time action game or a turn based one. There are like a dozen available actions on the lower part of the top screen.
Yeah, it would look even worse than this. [t]http://i.imgur.com/7xWPvFE.png[/t]
worst part is that they can't even pre-render the scenes, so it has to be this way but I guess downgrading a game to 3DS is easier than upgrading it to Wii U. Not blaming anyone, this game is already hard as balls to find, let alone at a decent price.

Here's a comparison video of both versions. It's not that bad. They managed to make an entire Wii game run on a portable console. They were bound to have some downgrades but it was already a bit on the meh side when it came to texture work in the original. They had to sacrifice something. Usually, textures are the first to take a blow because the models don't seem to have been changed at all. I still think it's an impressive feat. The N3DS is almost on par with the Wii in term of power which quite nice. And again, like many said, it will be available to everyone unlike the original which is balls hard to find at a decent price.
Besides that guys face, the whole game looks great! Seriously that face tho needs to change
Eh, on either system the characters faces have that dead eyed sex doll like stare anyway, so despite the slight decrease in quality for the N3DS they pretty much look the same for me. Besides, I'm just happy I finally get to play this game that everyone has been hyping on about, I've never had the chance to, so it'll all be blind, can't wait honestly.
What game do you recommend me to get from Club Nintendo? I have 305 coins.
I need you guys to sway me into buying one of these new 3ds XL things. Here's my position: I've never owned a handheld before, besides a gameboy color (which I still play now and then) I'm currently saving up to by my new rig. But I also want one of these but I can't justify buying one just because it looks cool (I did this with a surface tablet and regretted it from day one) Basically I'm looking for reasons to help justify me buying one when they are released. I want to know what to expect and the appeal of the new 3ds XL is. Any help would be appreciated.
How is VVVVVV on the 3DS? Is it a good port? I hated the Android version, but that's mostly because of the lack of proper controls.
the appeal of the 3DS Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Pretty much sold me when I read Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. But what are the other appeals to it? Would it be wiser to buy and older 3DS or buy the 'new' one? Only curious because if there is little to no difference I'd probably get an older one.

The N3DS offers: -Amiibo scanning if you're into that (a scanner for the regular 3ds/xl will be sold later) -A c-stick for camera stuff -Better textures in some games -A promise of games that'll only work on it (Xenoblade is the only one as of right now) -Better load times. -Better facetracking 3D

The N3DS is going to have internal power similar to a Wii, with the first Wii game being ported over Xenoblade Chronincles. (Wouldn't surprise me if they released Twilight Princess/ Skyward Sword 3D or Mario Galaxy 3D in the future.) Besides exclusives, the N3DS has facetracking 3D, so you can use the 3D feature from any angle. A C-stick has been added, basically acting as the C-stick did on the gamecube controllers, with automatic smash attacks in Smash 4, and camera controls in Majora's Mask. There's also a second set of shoulder buttons, and NFC communication for amiibos but those aren't really important right now. In all honesty, get a (old?) 3DS. Right now, until more exclusives come out, they're basically the same console.

If he wants an XL he should just get the new one. Old ones are only like $25 off right now because of the soon to be released better version. Any help would be appreciated.
The 3DS is a really good system with a fantastic collection of games, and since the N3DS is just better overall and you don't already own one, you're probably best just getting that from the get go. You get the c-stick and extra bumpers for better control in games like Monster Hunter, the better face tracking, and a more powerful system that'll be able to take the later exclusives no problem. Besides, it'd be better to get the new system early on so that way you dont spend double the money having to upgrade to the N3DS later on because you decided to skimp and get the inferior one
Thanks for all the help everyone, I'm probably going to buy one when they get released here in Canada, assuming I can get my hands on one that is.
Wait for Nintendos next handheld they're probably releasing next year or two
That's very, very unlikely. I could see like a Nintendo N2DS or something, but a completely new handheld or another software/hardware upgrade like the N3DS? That would just be stupid.
Anybody?
Doc Louis' Punch Out.
Really? I wouldn't be suprised. I thought the N3DS was stupid, a "half" generation above the 3DS. Waiting for the other half doesn't seem so out there. Each handheld generation is about 4-5 years, this isn't that abstract of an idea.
Not really. This is more akin to when the Nintendo DSi came out, which had a bout a 2-3 year life cycle before the 3DS came out, and was a unit with better hardware than its predecessor. Nintendo doesn't really let their consoles die that quickly.
I disagree with the idea of a n2DS coming out either way. I doubt there would be enough of a market, considering the 2DS already sold quite poorly compared to their expectations for it. Inexpensive used systems killed the 2DS' best shot at success before it even came out. You can still get a refurb XL for around the same price, and it's better in every way.
I have to say I think one of the things I'm looking forward to the most is getting the moon's tear. I hope they haven't touched the music at all. Why was it so sad sounding? :(

Why was it so sad sounding? :(
If Ocarina of Time 3DS is anything to go by then all they'll do is remaster the soundtrack by recreating the songs note for note using the same MIDI instruments and putting them in a higher quality.

Now it kinda looks plain.
The New 3DS is basically the DSi of this gen

That doesn't mean the upper part is plain too. Hopefully.
