I have already most of the gold games. So i'm definitely getting Crashmo.
Which game is the better option? Yoshi's New Island, Mario Golf or Mario Party?

Yoshi if you feel like having a aneurysm, Party if you want to see just how shit Mario Party can get, or Golf if you love DLC.

If you think about it their avatar is how somebody would look like if they had to choose between those,

Why put yourself through such pain.
Here is the far improved edition:

I just picked up New Leaf off the rewards thing.
Figured I'd get it because I never played an Animal Crossing game and I always felt like I was missing out on something.
I think I might also pick New Leaf. It's either that or DK Berry Blitz, and I'd rather add something to my 3DS library instead.

so theres a new animal crossing... home designer
nintendo is getting a little too comfortable with the dlc and amiibos
Wait, is that new Fire Emblem going to be two separate games, like Pokemon?
Or do you get both story lines in one game?

It's both with a story split at some point, Fire Emblem isn't a game to do split releases, I think that's reserved for stuff like Pokemon.

Actually, this is wrong. In Japan, it is 2 versions.
"As for this work, in each version, you see the story unfold from a different country’s side. For those worried about seeing the story from the other country’s side, there will be a DLC for the other story available for purchase at 1852 yen [about $15] (tax not included). There are also plans to offer a gigantic DLC that opens up a "Third Path", marketed at a price of 1852 yen (tax not included).
There will also be a version available through download where both story paths can be chosen from the outset, marketed at 4700 yen [about $39] (tax not included). [EDITED TO ADD: I think what they mean is that you can choose a path as you play… but then you have to stick with it. At the very top of the page, where it gives really basic info on the game, it says that the game is 4700 yen.]
Additionally, there will be a limited edition including both versions, various goodies, and the gigantic DLC (which can be acquired after you start playing) in a set, for 9250 yen (tax not included) [$77]. Those who want to play through the work completely, consider buying this set with goodies.”
What? "We're making tiny figurines that unlock stuff in games."
Did you expect them to not do anything with them? I don't get the point in being surprised. As for DLC also oh no they're expanding games in HUGE ways at insanely reasonable prices??
Nintendo is finally embracing 2015 with insanely awesome DLC prices and content.
The Prices for the Mii costumes are reasonable
http://www.smashbros.com/us/dlc/index.html
i'm not the kind of person that usually says this, but i kinda think those mii outfits should be free
like a dollar is nothing i suppose, maybe it's just cus i don't really care
Can I still get to platinum and pick a platinum reward, or was today the cutoff date or something and I'm stuck at gold?
I'm 85 away from platinum

I know Awakening was the first major DLC in a Nintendo game, but this is taking things to the logical extreme of the entire alternate story path being versions you can buy as DLC, plus a third story path that will probably be the 'true end' (or 'fuck everything up' end).
I really do hope the US version packages everything together, because this sounds like a dumb and messy idea trying to capitalize on the different versions of Pokemon yet again. When it comes to strategy games and story like Fire Emblem, I don't think anyone wants the routes to be sold separately whatsoever.

Yesterday was the last day to register codes, you're stuck with Gold.

NO
I WAS 5 COINS AWAY FROM HAVING ENOUGH TO GET WONDERFUL 101
NINTENDO WHY :suicide:
Nintendo still has one of the least offensive addon/DLC models in the industry, to be totally fair.
If it's not reasonably priced, it's obtained from a physical thing that looks cool and makes for a nice display piece even without the added functionality it offers. This type of content will also never expire (still obtainable/usable after the shop closes) and doesn't require an internet connection.
nintendo is getting a little too comfortable with the dlc and amiibos
I welcome amiibos
figurines are cool in general however traditionally only very popular or main characters have gotten them. They are usually also expensive and not really an international thing in some cases. (Such as being restricted to Japan or possibly incredibly pricy shipping from another country)
Amiibos are inexpensive and are global, the quality may not be as good but it's really what you pay for when they're only $15 a piece.
What if I don't want a 10 dollar figurine
Nintendo has already stated an alternative with the cards due this fall. It's not unreasonable that even for discontinued figures, they'll reprint them as cards later in vastly greater quantities for less money.
As for wanting a full game, Mario Kart 8 bare-bones has the most content of any MK game, by quite a notable amount. The addon content is just that, addon content made after the fact to keep hype going. If they wanted to put it all in the original release, it would've added months if not a year or two to devtime and an extra disk (and probably mandatory install on internal memory) to the physical version.
[editline]1st April 2015[/editline]
Expansions and addon content has been a thing since the days of Starcraft, and even earlier. Are you saying devs should be forbidden from spending time making any new content for a game that's already out? Are you saying they're not allowed to charge for the content they poured months of their lives into making? Just what is a "full" game to you?
I can't wait for amiibo cards to come because the easy-to-produce nature of cards will hopefully make the price of the scalped figures go down. If anybody can buy the "amiibo" part of the figure with a card, that makes the figures seem a bit less worth it to other people.
At this point I may as well just wait for the "complete edition!" of any game I want to buy.
I'm saying I don't want to be nickle and dimed to death. I don't care if it's "optional" if I'm paying full price I expect the entire game. Shit like costumes that are avaliable on release day or whatever amiibos unlock really I consider something that should be a part of the game. Minor, yea, but does that really matter?
I was actually using Starcraft and WoW as examples of good DLC! But I didn't feel like going into detail on this Ipod keyboard. Pretty much if there is dlc, it shouldn't be nickle and diming shit. Especially shoulsn't be stuff like the whole "buy 3ds and wiiu version to unlock mewtwo!"-tier stuff.
Nickle and dime? There's like 3 DLC for smash bros. Use a better example because "nickle and diming" when some random costumes go for a dollar and two full characters for like $8 each. Annoying that they're DLC but really that's how games are now. It allows flexibility to release the characters as soon as they're out rather than waiting for more characters to be done to push out a set as an expansion of sorts.
