DS is region free afaik, so you can play them any on any 3DS. Mind you some games with DSi exclusive content do not work on 3DS, such as Fire Emblem: Shin Monsho no Nazo. [editline]20th May 2015[/editline] Really enjoying Codename Steam. It's a got a very weird... imprecise feel to it, in a good way. This isn't Advance Wars or Fire Emblem where you Attack Twice for 7 Damage with 95% Hit Rate and 5% Crit Rate, where the numbers are the same and you always know what you're dealing with. It isn't Take Your Turn They Take Theirs repeat. You'll be abusing tutorial monitors for move movement or considering when to use the 'save', 'save and restore' 'save and restore all' function on the mid-map savepoints that cost precious medals but feel so so good to use. You'll miss some shots because of swaying 3d enemies but then hit others you didn't even know were possible.
I love the fact that I can put together a team comprised entirely of women and they're all different races/ethnicities. Big step for that kind of representation in Nintendo games.

Anybody willing to open up their Animal Crossing town for me? I need to get someone else's villagers to sign a petition and I really like the villager who asked me :v: Just PM me your friend code and ill do the same back
How does steam compare to say, XCOM? Cause if its similar i might pick it up
Everything I hear says it's a lame IS B-Team Valkyria+XCOM wannabe.
How does steam compare to say, XCOM? Cause if its similar i might pick it up
It's not top down/isometric like it and it shares a ton of similarities but that's about it. It's not a direct clone of it. It's not B-Team or lame either like Certified is saying, it's actually really fucking good and has a absolutely amazing OST. The only really big problem it has is whenever stages require you to be in ultra cramped quarters which it wasn't made for (namely just one mission though) and enemies seem to have infinite overwatch and they for sure respawn forever. Each one of those on their own is manageable but the game urges you to rush ahead while getting infinite overwatched and that's frustrating.
How does steam compare to say, XCOM? Cause if its similar i might pick it up
Get Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars. It's made by some of the XCOM guys and you can find it for like $5.
How does steam compare to say, XCOM? Cause if its similar i might pick it up
it's not overhead and you have to use the position of your characters to gain any view of the battlefield. in this sense, information is the most important resource you have.
anyone play Pokemon shuffle here? It was free for the 3ds, it might still be I don't know
Yes. Pokemon Shuffle is still free. If you want a free Pokemon sidegame that isn't robbing you blind get Rumble Worlds.
Pokemon Shuffle is pretty bad. It's basically Nintendo's answer to Candy Crush, terribly exploitative microtransactions and all. Do what Steel & Iron said; get Pokemon Rumble World.

Shuffle is the worst. Rumble is pretty ight though
uh I'd say it's the opposite. Shuffle gets ridiculously hard after level 100 or so, but levels are pretty much always feasible with coins (which you can get 500 of everyday) and jewels (which you can get with the occasionnal competition). The only thing I'd complain about with the game is that competitions are impossible to win if you go the free way, because people who pay are always gonna crush you, and that kinda defeats the point of a competition. Rumble World on the other hand is terrible because you have to buy balloons with an absurd amount of diamonds. It goes easy on you at first so you don't really catch on until the balloons costs 90 fucking diamonds. And that isn't even the worst case, there's one that costs 200. TWO FUCKING HUNDREDS. Eventually you're gonna reach a point where you've caught every Pokémon of every balloon, which means you won't be able to rank up, and then you're basically stuck unless you pay. Or I guess you could wait for five Miis to visit you, since five visits = one diamond. You only get 3 visits a day so good luck purchasing those balloons. Forget about the extras, too.
Yeah I really don't like the balloon system in rumble, I've been playing shuffle since launch without ever paying anything and it just feels much more manageable

I've caught every Pokémon so far - including Shaymin, which got released this morning, and won every competition, even in Europe where the leaderboards are tighter. On the other hand, after playing Rumble for a few hours, it became pretty apparent to me that getting enough diamonds to complete the game would take months. It seems I was right - apparently 4 months to just unlock all the balloons, and that's before completing the King's Challenges. Don't get me wrong, I still can't recommend Shuffle to anyone who doesn't want to play the waiting game, and a 'pay once to remove the hearts' method would be lovely, but for me it's the lesser of two evils by a long way.
Is Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition any good?
Is there any word on if the US is ever going to get the small N3DS? I really don't want another XL, having an N3DS about the size of a phone would be perfect.

Take that as you will, but I don't think we're gonna get the normal model.

Codename: S.T.E.A.M. is 10 bucks off on Amazon in the US if you are still interested.
I'd get Steam, but I wanna wait to get a New 3DS before I get it.
Is Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition any good?
I have the mobile version and it's pretty fun. Don't know about the 3ds release but I think there's a demo.
Is Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition any good?
I got it, and am pretty hooked. Only played the SMB edition so far but there's no shortage of difficulty. As soon as you hit World 3 there's a massive difficulty spike and the game gets pretty hard. But yeah it's loads of fun, would reccomend.
P+D is good. Mario side is a thousand times harder which is funny considering it's supposed to be the easy side. Biggest gripe is the Z side's story and characters are some of the most offensively boring and terrible characters I've seen in ages. I didn't expect anything and I'm still somehow disappointed. [editline]26th May 2015[/editline] It's the type of trash that thinks it's hilarious but all of it's jokes are bad. All of them.
Yes. Pokemon Shuffle is still free. If you want a free Pokemon sidegame that isn't robbing you blind get Rumble Worlds.
woah Pokemon shuffle isn't that bad, I think its cool. I've got rumble worlds but haven't played it yet
I like Rumble Worlds better, but that may be because it's new to me. Pokemon Shuffle is okay but I've played a ton of match games before and it's pretty much that, except somehow even more luck based. Also the disruptions and the whole "waiting three hours for ten minutes of gameplay" nonsense. Pokemon Rumble Worlds may get harder and harder to progress as you go on, but I can play it for longer than Shuffle and that's what really matters. Shuffle would be OK on a phone (that's the only Nintendo game I'll say that about) but on a 3DS, there's just so many other options that have actual gameplay. I don't know about you but I only break out Shuffle when I'm really bored or I've already checked my New Leaf town and I can't find my copy of Smash Bros.
So the Humble Bundle is having a Nintendo eShop Bundle...bad news is that it's US-only. (North, Central, and South American Wii U and 3DS consoles (with the exception of Brazil) games are Guacamelee, Woah Dave!*, Mighty Switch Force!*. Stealth Inc 2 and SteamWorld Dig* is +$10. More than the average gets The Fall, Olli Olli, and Moon Chronicles*. they'll probably add more games though. unsure if they're multi-system or if you can only pick 1 code for some games, think Olli Olli was multisystem when it came out. *3DS. Shame it's a filler week for everyone outside of the US. it's kind of like the eBook bundle or the Assimilated Square Enix bundle.
I got it and they give you keys for both versions. I don't have a Wii U so bit of wasted keys there.
I think it's about time for the Nintendo threads to decide where we want to hold our E3 chat this year. The SmashPunch Steam group? The 3DS Steam group? Somewhere else entirely?
