Does the XL ease the pain? I'd like to be able to play the fantastic game that is Kid Icarus : Uprising without killing my hands.
Nope, not in the slightest.
if you want to be able to hold the 3DS comfortably, get a secondhand Circle Pad Pro. even if you don't use the extra stick or the shoulder buttons, it makes the system easier to hold exponentially
Does the XL ease the pain? I'd like to be able to play the fantastic game that is Kid Icarus : Uprising without killing my hands.
The XL is much much less harsh on the hands, doesn't have sharp corners. Everyone who complains of having to hold it with one hand is just holding it wrong. You hand that holds the stylus should still be supporting half the weight.

details say its going to play similarly to frontier i know frontier sucks, but it think it's because it's super grindy? or does the gameplay suck too?
details say its going to play similarly to frontier i know frontier sucks, but it think it's because it's super grindy? or does the gameplay suck too?
All I know is MHX is going to be on the 4U engine, so it'll play very similarly to 4U. Also, like every MH, Japan will likely get it first so they'll be able to warn us if it's crap.
details say its going to play similarly to frontier i know frontier sucks, but it think it's because it's super grindy? or does the gameplay suck too?
It looks like Frontier with super-flashy attacks, but they'd have to fuck up the basic formula pretty hard to ruin it. As for the grind, I think they've learned to tone that down a bit. It's probably some aesthetic changes to the attacks and a few extra super-attack systems, not a lot more.
I also noticed Agnak and Nibel are back, hopefully they'll return Narga as well. [editline]31st May 2015[/editline] Also, new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.
Hype.
Is this Monster Hunter 5? What is this? A new one coming already? Wait holy fuck. Those are old villages and original levels!
it's not five, i'd say the cross indicates it being a compilation of content bringing back some more older stuff like the agnaktor and the nibelsnarf along with older locations like the village from mhfu the gameplay draws from frontier and it has the climbing mechanics of 4 basically, who knows. it might be f2p for all anyone knows
According to the direct, Dragon Quest VIII is coming to the 3DS in Japan, with features not on the PS2 version. Really hoping this one gets localized.
I'm thinking on getting a Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy for the DS, since I miss classic RPGs. I just can't decide on one. Any recommendations?
Final Fantasy iV on the DS is IMO the best version of the game. The iOS and Steam version are the same, but have a sickeningly horrible UI and the Steam version has some wacky FPS limits. FF III on DS is meant to be good but I haven't played it so I can't say. FF:The 4 Heroes of Light is meant to be pretty good as well. Chrono Trigger is on the DS as well, so obviously pick it up.

Or do your levels and equipment carry over each time you beat it?

I need to put some rubber pads on the underside or something. :v:

A new 3ds xl animal crossing ver? nintendo why do you do this to meeeee
In my Animal Crossing town Alfonso decided that he needed to tell me something so I talked to him. He said to take his "men's toilet" because "when I bought it I thought of you" Fucking cold, man.
I have always wanted to play Chrono Trigger, but I don't want to start all over again 8 times to get all the endings. Or do your levels and equipment carry over each time you beat it?
It's actually intended for you to do it with the equipment from your last playthrough. There are things that you can't unlock, including several endings, without first beating the game. In order to do so, beat the ending boss, see the credits and select "New Game+". The DS version also has the bonus of having brand new locations only accessible in New Game+ with their own sidequests.

Let's take a trip down memory lane. Remember the original prototype DS? [t]http://www.gadgetmadness.com/archives/metroid_ds.jpeg[/t] I like it much more than the final design. Maybe they decided they needed more space.
I don't know, it looks like a really cheap third party game&watch system. It probably would have been a bit more visually interesting if they had kept this visual direction through to the end.
that little battlers experience game in the new direct micro just makes me wish there was another custom robo arena, not this thing. [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline] if it hasnt already been posted
OK, this Direct was pretty good, for a change! Chibi Robo seems pretty fun. I'm a bit worried about how OP it will be for those with the amiibo, though. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon looks promising (I only played Red Rescue Team for GBA, so to see what they added since then will be nice). First time I hear about LBX, but it looks like Custom Robo Arena, and I kinda liked that game. The fact that it's even more customizable makes it so appealing! And Bravely Default, yeah!!
Don't really like how the new Chibi-Robo games are nothing like the original ones. The other one on 3DS is such a terrible concept. It requires you to use the camera which rules out using it in public unless you want to look like a retard. Doesn't seem to work well also.
Its about bloody time for Bravely Second.

Unfortunately it never got an International release, something that to this day makes me sad.

I hope it gets localized too, wouldn't mind a new one though
