i'm praying so hard that tech finally gets on the level of the other skill trees instead of being the skill tree that one person on each team should be to be the team player and make the heist 10x more efficient instead of 4 brainless killing machines
it's the only thing i've wanted for so long. make tech good PLEASE. don't just go "we added moving sentries and tweaked the variables"
also if mastermind can get FAK does fugitive have a different preferred deployable now or what
I want the sentries to be customizable like weapons. Want sentries that are basically a tiny dragon breath shotgun in a box ? Sure. Add a laser on it and it's 50% more accurate. Stuff like that.
I made a suggestion thread on the steam forums a while ago if anyone wants to check it out (or necro it, whatever.)
So do we get 125 points at Infamy XXV or not?
So do we get 125 points at Infamy XXV or not?
It seems that you earn 1 point per level up to 100, then each Infamy Class awards one more point, up to a total of 4 (Fugitive is unlocked with any other Class)
Do keep in mind skills are much cheaper now. Inspire Ace currently costs 52 points (48 if Infamous MM), it will now cost 28.
What I do find odd is tier 2 will only unlock if you Ace the single tier 1 skill.
I hope it's as good in practice as it looks on paper. I felt sour about perk decks replacing tier bonuses up until Sociopath came out and they buffed it. Took a long time for them to actually create a perk deck (And then buff it so it's actually useful) that gave me an equally useful array of abilities as I had with tier bonuses.
History might be repeating itself here, since there are some really good looking replacements on these skills, but there are still some 'eh' ones. I don't know if I'll be able to mix my skills as well as I did prior to the change being finalized.
I'm particularly interested to see what will become of Dead Presidents, and Lockpicking skills for the Ghost tree.

I'm wondering what they'll do with Technician. It looks like they've moved its rifle bonuses (snap to ADS faster, ADS zoom increase, etc) over to Mastermind's Sharpshooter tree, so assuming C4 and sentries are gonna be one of Tech's 3 trees and drill/hacking bonuses are another, what are they gonna do for the third tree?
Unless C4 and sentries get expanded on to the point of having a tree each, which could be really interesting.

Huh, looks like their adding Mac + Linux support... neat
snap to ADS faster
Makes me wonder if they're gonna make this skill matter. Right now the ADS mechanics give you ADS spread the instant you press/hold your aim button, not when the transition is done.
I would like to see as a new technician skill,
Professional Repairman:
Basic
"Melee-ing jammed drills and saws now has a x% chance to instantly restart them. Meleeing destroyed sentries has y% chance to repair them for further use."
Aced
"Melee-ing now has an increased x% chance to restart drills and saws, and if restarted this way will no longer jam for the rest of their duration. Meleeing broken sentries now has an increased y% chance to repair them."
Anger Management:
Basic
"Interacting with a Bulldozer attaches a drill to his faceplate, stunning him and breaking his visor for x seconds"
Aced
"Attaching a drill to a bulldozer will now continuously deal damage until he dies"

Well that's pointless.

Does that sound like a free event coupled with a free weekend ?
Yes. Yes it does.

Wonder why.
They've been working on support for at least a year or so now. Its nothing new, just has not been advertised or talked about much. I am unsure of how Mac is going but Linux will be coming soonishish.
Wonder why.
To increase the size of their consumer base so they can make more money?
I made the minigun spiiiiin woo

Do you lose progress when you uninstall and reinstall this game?
Do you lose progress when you uninstall and reinstall this game?
No. Your progress is linked to your Steam account.
No. Your progress is linked to your Steam account.
Thank fuck.
Actually I think the game has a physical file save somewhere, but I am unsure of that. But uninstalling is just fine.
Actually I think the game has a physical file save somewhere, but I am unsure of that. But uninstalling is just fine.
It does, but that file should be backed up to the Steam Cloud and will redownload along with the game whenever you reinstall.
SC and I were talking it out regarding the Sharpshooter sub-tree and more or less settled on Mastermind getting the more generalized skills for weapons that affect the whole team (+ stabilty for rifles for you and you crew, + accuracy for pistols for you and your crew, etc.), while the other trees get skills more dedicated to a weapon class or two (Enforcer does shotgun and melee/saw skills, Tech does ARs and Snipers, Ghost does LMGs and SMGs and Fugitive does pistols and akimbo).

Considering that this is a game with a longass progression, it's really kinda shitty that they don't just have it stored on their servers like the way most other multiplayer games do.

I'd swap LMGs and Melee around personally. Mostly because the idea of the sneaky stealthy tree getting skills relevant to using big, loud and impossible to conceal guns seems a bit bizarre to me.

The multiplayer games that do that are 1. AAAs run by companies that can afford much higher overhead costs, and 2. have competitive modes.
I prefer when I have my files where I can find them, no fun when a server controls everything, if a server goes down or dies it means game over for your progress.
When modding, why do sound files have to be the exact same length as the original?
I prefer when I have my files where I can find them, no fun when a server controls everything, if a server goes down or dies it means game over for your progress.
Well.. that's better than "hard drive dies : lose your progress". At least the servers are built to last.
When modding, why do sound files have to be the exact same length as the original?
This only really applies to sounds that loop (such as music). They have specific loop points defined in the soundbank, so if your file is too long it will get cut off and begin to loop early. If it's too short, there will be silence until it hits the loop point.

So if I want to replace some sound effects(like armor breaking or getting hit), I don't have to worry about that?

And that is why you must have a backup place, like a USB flash drive. Or 2. Or 3. Gotta keep those tiny, but important, files secure and you can re-download the games on your account in case your big HDD decides to meltdown. Better safe than sorry.
