And that is why you must have a backup place, like a USB flash drive. Or 2. Or 3. Gotta keep those tiny, but important, files secure and you can re-download the games on your account in case your big HDD decides to meltdown. Better safe than sorry.
Making sure my progress doesn't disappear really shouldn't be my problem when playing a game designed around multiplayer.
I made the minigun spiiiiin woo
The minigun always span, you just had to set your frame rate to beyond 60
I don't really get this discussion, your save file is stored on Steam Cloud. It's pretty much impossible to lose it. I've never had a problem with keeping my progress, and I use two different PCs.
it does prioritise the physical save file though So you can still screw around with seperate saves if you wanted to Just remember to back both up since if you lose an earlier one, steam cloud won't save you
The multiplayer games that do that are 1. AAAs run by companies that can afford much higher overhead costs, and 2. have competitive modes.
Lmao, Overkill can more than afford the overhead costs.
Lmao, Overkill can more than afford the overhead costs.
They almost certainly can't. Maintaining the infrastructure associated with a continuously synchronized save system is an expensive endeavour that is usually only applied when the developer needs to do it as an anticheat/antipiracy mechanism, and/or when they have a platform pre-built around that purpose. It's also regarded as a means to closed garden approaches to development and has trouble working well with a modding system.
Lmao, Overkill can more than afford the overhead costs.
Yeah, the last time I checked Starbreeze/Overkill had some serious cash flow problems due to them over-extending themselves financially with too many projects and not realizing that Payday was their only source of income.
Overkill themselves are also honestly just a small studio stretched into multiple projects owned by a medium size publisher which is over-extending itself. Not really so much saying it to defend Overkill, as I am more to say that I don't think they have the ability to support a server like that.
You guys remember how we were always told drum magazines were impossible because of "engine limitations" with have weapon mods set reload animation sets? Well; Had to use the AA12's reload as a placeholder due to lack of animation editing tools, otherwise I would've added an entire new animation for a Saiga drum mag reload. But hey, shows it's totally possible to change reload animations on the fly.

That's not like they told us car and legs/arms hitboxes were impossible but peoples/ovk themselves did it anyway. Most of the time when they say that it mean either they don't know yet how to do it or they can't do it properly without some workaround with the engine. Hope they'll implement drum mags themselves soon. [editline]20th March 2016[/editline] Also drum mags would be a pain in the ass to balance
I don't think they'd really be that hard to balance. Slower reload times, small movement penalty, lower accuracy, etc etc. [editline]20th March 2016[/editline]
I'm sure they can "extend" themselves a little more
Not sure why the "extend" but honestly I have no stake in this one way or another. They can or can't, makes no difference to me. I'm just saying its unlikely to happen. Forgot to add in that "no" in no stake. :speechless:
Hopefully the free community event will finally give us the VO update.
Slower reload times
This is all that's really needed. Both SC and I balanced larger-than-default mags by reducing the reload speed by 5% or greater, depending on the increase. The inverse happening with smaller-than-default mags.
they could make weapons with drum mags become straight up LMG and not allowing us to use sight or something
The reason LMG's have no ADS vanilla is because of supposed kickback Applying it to drums would be weird I just hope that they'll someday manage to implement vertical grips and make them optional on things like the Uzi
So they finally translated the new achievements (starting from PB heists) and they pulled the same shit as PDTH but worse. watch undercover somehow become a submarine in the french trad,or the rest of the achievement being literally google traded version of the english one.
what
actually no the goatsim one are just absolutely awful goats pun
well today is the first day of spring ... now we wait for ? what was promised in spring?
Lmao, Overkill can more than afford the overhead costs.
Nah, they're using all the PD2 money to develop like 17 other games basically ensuring they have to milk the fuck out of PD2 to get more money.
So they finally traduced the new achievements (starting from PB heists) and they pulled the same shit as PDTH but worse. watch undercover somehow become a submarine in the french trad,or the rest of the achievement being literally google traded version of the english one.
What the fuck are you even trying to say? [editline]20th March 2016[/editline] Oh, TRANSLATED.
So they finally traduced the new achievements (starting from PB heists) and they pulled the same shit as PDTH but worse. watch undercover somehow become a submarine in the french trad,or the rest of the achievement being literally google traded version of the english one.
Number 1 mistake to never make when you're French and trying to speak English: using "traduce" instead of "translate".
tra·duce (trə-do͞os′, -dyo͞os′) tr.v. tra·duced, tra·duc·ing, tra·duc·es 1. To make false or malicious statements about (someone) in order to cause humiliation or disgrace. See Synonyms at malign. 2. To fail to uphold; disregard or violate: "The appearance of things is ... that we have traduced our policy and violated our principles" (Patrick J. Buchanan).
Why would you play PD2 in French anyway, or any game for that matter
This is all that's really needed. Both SC and I balanced larger-than-default mags by reducing the reload speed by 5% or greater, depending on the increase. The inverse happening with smaller-than-default mags.
This, DMC and I just have drums fuck your concealment and reload speed. A 100 round Beta-C may seem crazy OP, until you realize you're reloading as slow (in some cases SLOWER) than an LMG. And that's really all that's needed to balance them.
Number 1 mistake to never make when you're French and trying to speak English: using "traduce" instead of "translate". Why would you play PD2 in French anyway, or any game for that matter
I play the game in english, but I'm stuck with french achievements.
I play the game in english, but I'm stuck with french achievements.
Just FYI, achievements' translation is tied to your Steam client language. Change it to english and you're good to go.
I rather have no mod than cheaters run around
I swear to fuck, every time I read this or something along the lines of "get rid of modding to get rid of cheaters" legitimately piss me off. Like really, even from a purely objective standpoint, hell, even from OVK's side of things, this is just a retarded thing to do. This is like asking Bethesda or Garry, both of which having games with established modding communities, to get rid of the Creation Kit/GECK/.bsa/.esm/etc. or .gma/addon support and break any existing mods. Had this been said back on 2013, sure okay, go ahead and parrot this. But to say this late-game? The fuck?????
"I'd rather have my game become boring really quickly and have less cheaters than play a game with an actual active community and more cheaters that I can kick anyway."
They way you worded that has a key point too, it being less cheaters, not no cheaters.

What with how deep that massive stick is up their ass.
