You wouldn't require that much .lua ,beardlib takes care of almost everything. .lua would be required just for more advanced stuff (as in tweaking viewmodel position,custom stats,etc.)
I never figured out how to use the level editor to make my own heist.

Well, i still dont know how to make models for pd2 tho. I have made models for gmod but unlike pd2 source games have a lot more support. Im sure there is a guide but i cant find one

Even if you are going to add a weapon instead of replacing ,the steps are perfectly identical (except you are free to rename the files) since you still need a game weapon as base (mostly because you need to "steal" its bonerigging)

So far there have been 0 custom heists released ever since the editor came out.
It's super obvious people have no idea how to do it. If I knew I'd definitely do it too, I've got awesome ideas that I'll share some day.

Well you have Out of Frame heist which was released along the Beardlib update.

People DO know how to do it. It just takes time.

So people DO know how to use the editor, just stuff like this takes time. It has been only like a month since the editor was officially released. So just give it some time.

I think he means people that aren't ViciousWalrus or Rex, or anyone else that has had a lot of time and experience with the editor, just more people in general don't know how to properly use it, hell I'd love to make my own heist, might even get my creativity working for level design in general too, but I don't know how to use the editor at all, and usually most editors you can sorta figure out everything by looking at it and playing about, but I haven't been able to at all with the current one.

Man, weapon models are a bit more than i can handle atm. :(
I kinda understand how it works but right now im just not feeling like cutting up a model manually over a lot of parts.

I got me some custom melee weapons, it worked and was cool!
However, people who joined my heists crashed upon entering with or without equiping the custom weapons. So,i sadly had to get rid of the custom weapons and now people can join without crashing.
But now if the melee model ever so happens to load, whether i try to preview it in the black market or try to use the melee during the heist, i crash.
This whole custom weapons thing in the end screwed my game up ;(
If i put the weapon replacements back, i dont crash when i use or load any melee, but that makes people crash when they join my lobby. Please idk what to do now everything was fine before i tried out the custom melee weapons :<
Edit: I found it it broke my goonmod.. goonmod now crashes me when i use a melee, great :(
Anyone who wants to try out the custom added weapons via mods, i guess be prepared if it does some bad things

The main issue is a lack of documentation for mission elements, so there's some guesswork involved. Most people don't want to spend their time scripting missions either because it's fairly tedious. [sp]It's also why I've had Car Shop Loud on the back burner for a while.[/sp]

That's never how it works. There are always test levels of some sort, not an absolute void until something good releases. People release fun stuff, they play around and try things out, and when it's half-good they release it because why not.
