We'll start by getting small stuff like masks and weapons, then we'll get new heists, Sydney and safehouse customization.
And then we'll get the ultimate Payday 2 reward that will redeem Overkill from all the shit they did !

It's entirely in-game, you can drop in and out of gameplay in an instant. All data can be saved. Works with freeflight.

It's being used to help make my heist + upcoming ones even more impressive than I could have done before. I plan to update Green Harvest soon with new events.

Last I heard, they're running into issues with trying to get the Yacht to move, or more specifically have the background of the map move so it seems like the yacht is sailing. They said it takes a lot of in-game resources to either move the background or move the yacht itself.

I think it would be foolish to try and move the yacht. Too many moving props and getting NPCs to function right.

I assume they're going to do the classic trick of keeping all world elements stable and just making the sky-box move

That's literally the only reason it's taking so long, so you have to at least give them credit for working on something the engine has never done before.

That's what they claimed, it's the things that SlickBlade pointed out that are the issue for them. Also creating a new animation and rendering for water waves is giving them a large CPU/RAM usage issue, since you never really see any running water in-game let alone a large body of water.

but why are some weapon mods literal straight upgrade to others?
Like for the M16,the tactical handguard has the exact same stats as the long ergo foregrip but with -2 concealment instead of -3

A better question would be "why is balance fucked?"
Really the only way I can answer that is that balancing is hard, especially when you have 30+ weapons in the game.
PD:TH has better balance compared to PD2 simply because it isn't filled with guns that all fight with each other to perform the same role.
Each of the weapons in PD:TH had a merit of their own that another weapon couldn't do, at least not as efficiently.

yeah but "overkill is bad at balance" or "balance is hard" doesn't really justify having two weapons mods for the same slot and unique to a same weapon,have the same stat except one of them has one stat better than the other.
This is pure lazyness at this point.

I don't think the point is to be balanced, some mods are there for you to say "oh man, I want this one, it's so much better !". While I don't quite agree with this design technique, it's a billion times easier than trying to find a niche for each mod.
Just like before crimefest, some weapons were just bad compared to others.
Who knows, maybe we'll get a weapon mod balance update someday.

Waste of a weapon mod.
Maybe I should go back to writing my "Payday 2 improvement guide". I had so many good ideas for improving each heist.
