Until they nerf sentries to a tolerable level, here's a pro funtime tip: Day 3 Framing Frame, set them up in the corners of the living room and on the balcony of the vantage point.
I don't understand why they used Diesel in the first place, it barely holds itself together and runs like shit while looking visually terrible
I don't understand why they used Diesel in the first place, it barely holds itself together and runs like shit while looking visually terrible
Because Overkill was formed from ex-GRIN guys, so they had an engine that they created and could readily use. Also saved them money at the time by not needing to license an engine.
It really does feel like they have to sacrifice quality or features for the shit engine though, like how it handles animations
No matter how much you hate Diesel, you gotta admit that they at least know how to use it If they were to try and use a new engine, it's highly likely it'd fuck up on more fronts
It really does feel like they have to sacrifice quality or features for the shit engine though, like how it handles animations
That'd be if animations really were a problem with the engine
A lot of puzzle pieces fall into place when you take into account the fact that the Diesel Engine has been in use since smegging 2001. It's been in racing games, Tom Clancy games, 2D Platformers, a 3D Platformer, and a few Third-Person Shooters. Impressive versatility, but the damn thing is way past it's prime.
I've recently been getting into Death Wish a lot because OVK is too easy to be fun anymore and I gotta say Death Wish is really cool cause you learn a lot about the game like how much hatred and contempt you have for other players of this game you never knew you had
It is impressive how the developers managed to create some really nice things even with all the limitations. Such as the the Birth of Sky airplane jump or Beneath the Mountain's scale. It's just like that PD:TH No Mercy elevator trick that was posted a few pages a while ago. Overkill and LGL are pretty crafty when it comes to using Diesel.
If only they knew the game was going to be such a success, I bet they would have taken the risk to learn a more modern and scalable engine.
Anyone else had issue with the stat tracking achievements not actually updating?
Anyone else had issue with the stat tracking achievements not actually updating?
they should update after a while, they will unlock once you reach the required number anyway
Just got out of a DW match. Apparently, with my build, the M308 can drop both tans and greys in 2 bodyshots. It does 216 damage and is affected by Body Expertise Aced. Someone good at maths can calculate my bodyshot damage.

Would be cool to have one for each gang member Jacket for some reason is the only member they completely gloss over joining I want to know where they met stretchy arms potato face
Woah. Payday has lost alot of it's population. It had like 14 thousand in 2014.
That'd be if animations really were a problem with the engine
By what SC said,THERE IS a problem with how animations and rigs are handled, but it's not exactly due to the engine itself but due to some corners that were cut during development of the game .
That's a lot of writing work wasted because the devs decided not to make an introduction heist or a trailer or something.
Me, Sadir, and pretty much everyone involved in cinematics at the time wanted to make a longer and more complex Sydney trailer, but we hit some hard time constraints because we were in the middle of restructuring our pipeline for animated trailers (because we switched to Octane). It's all still W.I.P but I'm very determined to build a stronger internal animated cinematic division and I've made lots of progress in just under 2 years. :] I myself might take it on as a personal project though, in my spare time. That's the whole reason Jacket got the trailer he did, because I whipped up a concept in my spare time. Sadir is a great writer and I see lots of potential in her backstory. Helps that I really like her style. :v: [editline]17th May 2016[/editline] No promises tho lol, it really would be a passion project on the side of my already very busy after-work life :v
You could turn the backstory into something similar to how they did cutscenes in MGS:PO and PW. Only less sketchy
the one criminal group in australia is called the dingoes really
I like using sydney's knife just so I can look at something while I'm waiting for a drill or timelock or whatever. there's not a single line that involves "cunt" with her, though.
I just wish the butterfly knife had a better attack animation, the current one is kind of lame.
I just wish the butterfly knife had a better attack animation, the current one is kind of lame.
maybe the knife is kind of like spy's backstab where your fingers are between the handles and you get that sweet sweet 50 damage "backstab"

Considering that Payday has such a wide array of characters and personalities, it makes me sad the way they gloss over their backstories, and don't really give most of them a chance to shine. So I treasure every snippet of it I get, and this is a big one. Also, I get the feeling Sydney's a lot like Bonnie might have been in her 20's, before she went to jail.
