Why cant I put the game on fullscreen? When I select the option if minimizes itself and can't play.
Maybe try fooling around with alt+tab and alt+enter until it works?
Thinking of making a gungame server mod and or a basic RP mod just for shits n gigs yes/no also if anyone wants to help out testing the shit that'd b gr8
I can help you with the api if you get stuck on something if you want. The wiki isn't very well documented yet.
yeah, im trying to convert my glua knowledge over and its working decently, only problem i have found so far is theres like no way (that i know of) to add custom variables to players. like example, in glua i'd just do shit like
ply.godmode = 1
yet, i'm yet to find a way to do that in this if its even possible. or im just fucking retarded and remembering lua wrong
I think it works differently in jcmp. I think the classes are either "copied" from c++ directly, or are wrapped in a Player class made for use with the lua api then that gets copied from c++. Meaning anything you set on it will either not do anything, or dissapear when it goes out of scope. An alternative would be something like this. [cpp] local godmodePlayers = {} local function OnPlayerChat(args) -- If godmode command detected godmodePlayers[args.player] = true -- remove by setting to nil end -- Returns true if damage should be dealt function HandleDamage(player) if godmodePlayers[player] ~= nil then return false else return true end end [/cpp] It's not as elegant i admit, but it's not hacky and it works well.
So wait you can host your own servers now?
Maybe try fooling around with alt+tab and alt+enter until it works?
Not sure why but suddenly the game crashes my pc completely when pressing alt+enter when I could put the game on fullscreen before.
So wait you can host your own servers now?
Yup. Server is downloadable through the tools section in Steam
Anything but RP, god.
on the other hand, some of us need something to amuse ourselves with when we are bored, and sometimes the best thing to do is to annoy RPers
I honestly think the game was more fun back in beta tests. I mean, you would wait an eternity for them and when they came around, you would have so much shit happening and new stuff to play with. Now, I dunno. Anyone else?
All the servers with people on them have everything for free. Everyone gets to fly and drive everything at all times...so what's left to achieve?
All the servers with people on them have everything for free. we need more races also whoever made the Dalton races at the 3 kings please don't do it again
This game has the best races

Where the fuck are all the stunt and jump servers that should be abundant by now? The update that allowed object placement was released about one or two months ago and so far the only server I've found making use of it is that recommended server that allows players to spam shit all over the place. Also that server that's often near the top of the list for player count and has 'CUSTOM OBJECTS' in its title should be shut down or DDoSed, or something. It's false advertising and has pissed me off as I spent about 30 minutes searching for the elusive 'custom objects' before coming to the conclusion that its owner is a lying scumbag.
I know this thread has been untouched so much but does anyone know why I keep crashing on the MP? I have tried so many solutions but none of them are working; - Disabling decals and putting my settings to the lowest on everything - Updating drivers - Setting the priority high - Reinstalling - Verifying game caché I just need a solution that will work, really does suck when im trying to record with friends.

It's unstable. Best you can do is send those error report and restart.
JCMP is still in beta. It's unstable. Best you can do is send those error report and restart.
It doesn't let me send the error report, it just disappears after it exits me out of the game.
Right so I know this is a fairly old thread, just bumping to remind people that the multiplayer mod still exists. In particular it has a couple servers with objectives and actual gameplay which make it a little more interesting than just screwing around: [Beta] Battle for Panau - 3 Way Faction war 192.95.54.12:7777 This server is a blend of shooting and strategy. Players comprise the three rebel factions as they vie for territory after the singleplayer game ends. Carve through enemy territory and terrorize Southeast Asian villages. Victory is achieved by surrounding enemy factions' strongholds. The server features classes, squads, sentry guns, homing missiles and limited grappling. More information is on the server's help menu, press F5 once connected. Survival District 134.255.220.245:7789 Quite similar to DayZ or Rust, but this time it's in the Financial District of Panau City! Scrounge for loot in the nooks, balconies, scaffolding, rooftops, and crannies of the shining metropolis. Search for loot stashes in the hills and sandbars around the city. Kill to protect the location of your ever-expanding hoard. This server features a friends list, a safe zone, and the bubblegun. More information can be found written on walls in the safe zone. Racing 1.0 (couldn't find the address, will edit once I do) Though many freeroam servers will feature the race script, you can race all day on this one. It has an impressive variety, including boat vs. plane races, obstacle courses, skydiving races, and a Mile-High Club course. Also features server records. Boost is disabled but cars are free.
I feel like Just Cause 3 is going to have to step up it's game. I mean IMO even Just Cause 2 was actually pretty bare-bones, although it was a bit unique. You've got to take into account that it came out in 2010 though, and back then there weren't many similar games. Nowadays though, if you compare it to GTA you'll see how GTA V has also a huge but incredibly more detailed map. It has planes, highways, and is overall a bit more action packed than GTA IV was, which in this aspect Just Cause 2 1upped. Also, since Just Cause 2 Far Cry 3 and 4 came out, and while they are fairly different games i still feel like FC kind of fills the sandboxy-action gap that JC2 did in it's time, and does it better. Obviously just cause has the mobility and grappling hook stuff going on, but you can't rely a game on just that, especially not if it almost was the case in the previous entry to the series. I feel like JC3 is gonna have to do a lot of fleshing out and various new content and new ideas to be relevant. And from what I've read from the journalists who play it, well they're just loosing their shit about basically the same things that were in JC2, which again, I feel aren't enough anymore. I think it's kind of comparable to Saints Row, and how it had to fill a different gap since it couldn't compete with GTA. This made SR go all wacky and shit, and I think that's pretty great, because it gives us more diversity. Obviously I'm not saying JC should now turn wacky, but it should find something that defines the series (like having the game feel like a cheesy action movie from the 80's, which was present in JC2) and turn it up to 11. tl;dr: JC2 was pretty barebones but successful because reasons that wouldn't apply to JC3 anymore, and thus JC3 needs to turn itself up to 11.
Bringing some action to this thread. Seeing as how Just cause 3 is all confirmed and stuff, more information is starting to get released and some lovely "screenshots" showing the madness and beauty we all came to expect from the franchise. One of the first things that caught my attention is how more "vertical" the landscape is, hopefully they'll release some videos soon so we can see the entire thing in motion. is the mp mod still alive?
I hope theres still snowy areas and easter eggs all over. Those screenshots are impressive.
is the mp mod still alive?
Yes, about 1000 people on during peak hours. This is split across very many servers so it's not quite the crowded chaos it was in beta, but some servers top 100 players on weekends. Racing server is dead, this has been supplanted by people racing in Survival District (which also has no boost). There's also an event for the Battle for Panau server at noon GMT on 21 December. Several people who are on regularly have agreed to join, place as many landmines as possible, and play a game. Also, the playerbase quadruples during sales.
is the mp mod still alive?
Not really. You can still play it, but there hasn't been any update or news in like 4 months.
