When they finish excavating a room, fill it with microfurniture
Everything I've seen so far looks really, really good, it looks like the extra time they've had to really flesh out the franchise has payed off.
Exploring the post xcom eu world in where you lost is also a really awesome theme that it looks like they are fleshing out really well, definitely getting this game from all the work I've seen so far.
futhurmore i am strongly against the advent administration and its tactics
[sp]i swear im not a xeno sympathizer[/sp]
Alright, disappointingly, the XCOM 2 Booth provided exactly no extra information for us. They showed the same video that was already livestreamed earlier today, even though we did get at least one extra scene at the end, where an ayy shoots down the Avenger while it's flying towards a mission.
Other then that I *could* have won an advent t-shirt, but I was too slow at connecting the Norwegian flag to the countries name. I did get 4 XCOM 2 stickers though, so that's at least something :v:
Post pictures of xcom sticker loot so we can all be mad jelly.

Nothing too special. I'll put it together with my EW sticker I got two years ago at Gamescom

Was this just a short cutscene? And was it a confirmed "Game Over", or did anything or anyone hint that it could be the start of another mission? If the latter, I'm really hoping you get to defend the downed Avenger from Advent/alien troops until XCOM either gets it reasonably airworthy again or the aliens fulfil a set condition(s), because being randomly blown out of the sky and into a "Game Over" doesn't sit too well with me.

It was a random cutscene, so I think it leads into a defense mission. Also I am pretty sure that it's been confirmed that you have to defend the Avenger from the aliens / advent.
At the end of the Twitch stream it's teased that when travelling you can be shot down which leads to a "very special mission type". So Avenger defense fo shizzle.
I forgot to mention, while it was pretty damn loud due to the 2K stage being right behind us, I could tell that the new strategy layer music sounds great, so they also nailed that.

Oh shit, right I also forgot to mention that the commander in XCOM 2 is the same commander that lost in XCOM EW. The commander was captured by the aliens and put into cryostasis for 20 years. The commander also had a sort of brain implant placed by the ayys that had to be removed by the new science team dude.
wish i could be the commander of xcom irl. fly around in my sick spaceship, picking up sexy soldier people to fight aliums. in real life i only command a taco bell drive-thru window, and my spaceship is a 15 year old subaru. and while i do pick up some moderately sexy people in the evening, they don't seem to know much about xcom. and while they probably have better aim than the average rookie, they panic way more often and i have to dismiss them. probably advent sleeper agents or ayyyy collaborators or something idk.
speaking of dismissing those that panic too much, i've got a very unclutch sniper. and to be racist af, why give the sniper rifle to the guy from vietnam named Thuo Duong? (I've since renamed him Thou Dong to illustrate how bad he sucks).
guy has a really bad habit of missing every shot over 75%.
the most vital, life saving shots, you can depend on the dong to miss.
also assigned the nickname of "hyper", illustrating another trait you wouldn't want your steady-handed sniper to have. he's somehow managed to get enough of the non-vital hits in and last kills (seems to be the only time he does hit) that he's highly ranked amongst my roster though. BUT HE STILL INFURIATES ME ENOUGH THAT I CONSIDER DISMISSING HIM -- the only thing that has stopped me is in hopes that he somehow heroically dies and redeems himself or does something else that is at least amusing to me.
in reality he's just gonna fuck a mission over so bad and get everyone killed, so the dismissal is tempting. early retirement
One thing you can't count on your sniper is to die heroically. Unless you set it up from the start to heroically feed him to ayys, that is.

Goddamnit when they say XCom failed they really mean it.
EDIT: Well, now I just really goddamn want this game.

avatar fits
From the way the camera moves around in cutscenes I've always imagined the Commander to be a floating robot or something.

When I get XCOM 2 I'm going to play an ironman impossible first. I might even make note of a few soldiers and rebuild them in XCOM 2.
