is that a hex map i see??
Nah, when you use a controller it sticks the movement borders are in the middle of the tile instead of being on the edges of them like when you've got a mouse.
Though HeXCOM would be an interesting development, I'm not sure it'd actually be fun, the usefulness of a hex grid in such precise environments would non existence unless you implemented stuff for the sake of making it work with hexes. Cities and buildings are built pretty square. Wilderness maps might do a hex grid OK, but it wouldn't make sense for urban environments
I would be pretty uppity if they did a demo. They could use the Unification Day mission for it. Which reminds me, I firmly believe the Unification Day mission will probably be your tutorial mission.
Doubt it. From the Gamescom base demo, I'd say the tutorial mission will be under Bradford's watch (much like in the EU) and the objective to get the Commander out of Cryo.
Doubt it. From the Gamescom base demo, I'd say the tutorial mission will be under Bradford's watch (much like in the EU) and the objective to get the Commander out of Cryo.
This actually makes a fair amount of sense
Just put in an Order online to get a Commando Sweater and a Vigilo Confido badge. Researching if I can get a wig that's Buzzcut before I go to MCMComicon in October as Central Officer Bradford. Disengage!

From the Gamescom base demo, I'd say the tutorial mission will be under Bradford's watch (much like in the EU) and the objective to get the Commander out of Cryo.
I suspect both are part of the same sequence - the statue raid being the equivalent of the first abduction in EU's tutorial, maybe taking place while the Commander is in surgery.

Confirmed. Meanwhile, very basic science.
I wonder if there's some way to speed the game up in XCOM 2 like the slowmo command in EW/EU. I really can't play without it now.
Dunno if this has already been mentioned, but the soldiers in the tactical footage have accents based on their flag. Not just alternate languages, they're speaking English but with Russian, British, and some other accent I can't quite make out. can someone confirm that LW extraction missions spawn extra exalt rocketeers because i'm p sure they do, to discourage you from fighting it out [editline]12th August 2015[/editline] squadsight snapshot fire in the hole mayhem danger zone xXx_EXALT_xXx i want to force johnnylump to eat raw chicken every time i finish an exalt mission
So i was pretty annoyed with my ironman run because the game kept giving me heavies. honestly i have 3 assaults, 3 snipers, 1 support and the remaining 18 are all heavies. WAS a right pain in the ass getting them promoted but fuck me iv'e never had so much fun taking 6 colonel heavies into a mission each with shredder, dangerzone, rocketeer or mayhem and just spamming rockets all over the place. By god it was fantastic. Sadly not alot of materials to take home with me but who the fuck cares cause explosions are cool. Also i could not work this one out She's killed more, she was a higher rank than Zhang when he turned up. She's been on more missions than Zhang and they both went on the same missions when wet work unlocked. And yet he made colonel first? yeah fuck it lets roll with that :v: Oh boy anyone remember where i said I've never completed an ironman Imp run before because the game constantly fucks me by breaking something, Well it done gone did it again. God fucking damn it Gordon nows not the time to go swimming for fuck sake.

Analysis: -Hack rewards can reveal both strategy layer data such as alien bases in uncontacted regions as well as give tactical layer rewards such as improved aim on that mission.

Good good.
Cause you get Zhang at Lieutenant(?) rank, so he starts off higher on the XP chain.
Feng was a LT when he joined though and they both hit major in the same mission.
Feng was a LT when he joined though and they both hit major in the same mission.
Maybe Zhang went on more Story-line missions and Feng didn't. Storyline missions give double XP. That or Zhang is just badass and doesn't play by the rules.
Not sure really, just gonna go with the latter cause his aim don't give no fucks for a heavy. Bonus X-Com pissing on my Imp Iron bonfire round from 5 mins ago Quick medic! Davis is bleeding out ... oh Fuck you Carter, fuck you sincerely Edit: and then this happens I hope X-Com2 has less of this shit :v:
holy shit i just had the most unreal two turns all lined up on a rooftop overlooking 3 pods. here's what happened. - assault misses a 94% against a cyberdisk - gunner misses both her rapid fires (she has never landed a rapid fire hit in the campaign) - grenadier lobs nade under lip of building, kills nothing, activates mega seeker pod, entire squad flanked - rocketeer rolls maximum possible scatter for a shredder rocket, shreds entire friendly squad and blows cover to smithereens the round before this, the entire team failed to hit a drone. 10 shots, only two of which were below 60%, all of them missed. i'm having the worst campaign. Do we know anything about XCOM 2 pre-orders / collectors edition? I've heard some unreliable people say that Garth DeAngelis said something about revealing this to us "very soon". Does someone know of a reliable source where he said this? I need to know how much money I need for the collectors edition before I waste it on other things

Gamescom was just 1 bit of it, you're supposed to know the whole deal. What kind of agent are you? On a serious note, dunno where Garth said that exactly, but I wonder what we'd get from a Collector's edition.
During the last firaxis twitch, they reported that they'd have more XCOM stuff next week.
I'd jump for a collector's edition. I might not get Fallout 4 right away then but I'd definitely spring for it. In other news, next week I was going to take another serious look at playing the original XCOMs. I recently play Fallout 1 so I've refamiliarized myself with unintuitive turn based games. I'm also having surgery so I won't have much better to do confined to a couch with my laptop.
Get Xenonauts, it's like the OG but with a better intercept and suppression.
I do actually have Xenonauts, but I wanted to play UFO Defense at least once given how I've enjoyed EU. It's a stupid pet peeve of mine to experience the classic of a reboot and vice versa.

It fixes a lot of the bugs the original has, as well as having a bunch of quality of life improvements and customizability. Stuff like XCOMUtil has more options to fool around with, but if you don't really know what you're doing OpenXCOM is the better choice.

"What was X-Com Enforc- Oh. A TPS" judging by the mixed ratings of enforcer it was also mediocre i heard apoc was too but ratings disagree
