How mad would you guys be if XCOM 2's story was based off a botched playthrough of Long War?
I hope the preorder bonus is available for box copies too.
Man I can understand pirates in countries like Australia. Those prices are ridiculous. And Canada is usually pretty close to U.S. prices though, right? What's up with the random $20 extra?
Our dollar is in the pisser.
Is it more expensive outside of america or what, my store page says 60 dollars
£40 in the UK.
I don't usually preorder anything above £25, but based on what we've seen and heard so far, I'm more than willing to take this particular gamble with my cash.
Fucking stellar, now they're lobbing off content for preorder bonuses. You know what's great? They specifically talked about fleshing out customization as one of the big reasons for delaying the game, then remove customization content from the game for anybody who doesn't preorder.
Uhh, that's not what they're saying dude. The pre-order bonus is a specific set of customisables, which is what you see in the screenshot, not the soldier customisation function as a whole.
i dont think it's anything to be worried about
Chances are, all the customization options that are locked out can be probably easily re-acquired either through modding or just changing a line or two in a config file, like in the first game.
here's a hi-res version of the preorder image

Those outfits look like something out of a fallout mod tbh
I'll be perfectly fine with never getting that customization pack. I don't like sending my troops in wearing dirty and grimy armor, and half of that stuff doesn't even look that great.

It really ups the resistance look for me. I want that.
All I want is that bradford sweater looking one so I can run a all-ranger game while yelling "CLOSE RANGE!?" as I select the melee attack on a ayy about fifty times and other bradford quotes before getting bored halfway through and abandoning the game after losing entire squads repeatedly to lids,berzerkers,muton,etc,etc..

I think I'm gonna be in denial about being the resistance in xcom 2 and just go for the most military looking armour available
why though
[editline]10th September 2015[/editline]
i get the customization part but idg what people's problem with the resistance theme is
I don't give a fuck what you say, that battle worn OG XCOM armour is fucking tight and I am putting that on at least half of my veterans
Personally I love the gritty look, enemy unknown looks too cartoony and clean.

that's just it though, I don't have a problem with the resistance theme but will probably favour its aesthetics less. once you start getting better armour and stuff, won't we immediately stop looking like the resistance anyway?
That preorder bonus is some Snake Eater shit.

Yeah, as much as I like the idea of sending Immortan Joe's warboys out to reclaim the Advent War rig, I think i'll hold off and stick to the more "organized resistance" options.

You motherfucker, now I'm just going to hear "WITNESS ME" every time the Ranger charges into melee.

For me it's the aesthetics of the resistance which i don't like, i like organization and professional over ragtag, like when i play stalker i prefer Duty or Military, Metro it's rangers or the 'nazi's' so on so forth.
My veterans with stories to tell will get a personal touch but the GI's and the no thrills vets will stay in 'prim and proper' standard issue uniform.
Community mods shall inevitably bring turtlenecks; that's what I will roll with.

that's the real reason why he's a broken man now.
Maybe it IS Bradford?
Alien gene tech can do some crazy stuff
XCOM 2 is priced folks.
Converting from my currency to usd it's a little less than $43 for me.
anyone preordering?
At $90? Hell no. I'll wait until the mid-year sales, Firaxis robbed me of getting it in the Christmas sales when they delayed it to February.
anyone preordering?
Why not? I had spare steam cash and I can just refund it if its shit (which I highly doubt).
anyone preordering?
No, I'm not paying 80 canadian dollars for an XCOM game even if it does look great.
I'm waiting for sales for sure.
anyone preordering?
Even though I think Xcom2 will meet every single one of my expectations. The answer for me is no.
Fuck pre-ordering culture.
