Analysis:
- Explosives and heavy hits cause comm-noise effect
- Grenadiers get 'cone of fire' abilities and area lockdowns
- Electrical effects on Muton melee
- Multiple levels of MEC - MEC 'confirmed' fully mechanical - Maybe telepresence controlled drone?
- First Alien base footage shown - Seems to be a mandatory evac mission
- Stun lancer may either stun for short period or KO if you roll badly.
- Probable Psi Abilities revealed:
Soulfire - damage organic foes through armor
Stasis - stun enemy for one turn but makes immune to all effects
- Killing a Sectoid slays zombies as well
- Hats can block other props.
Did we already know about [sp]Faceless[/sp]?

Considering that I've been getting spammed with it from my Google alert.... it's a safe assumption.

It hasn't been officially shown anywhere except PAX. People knew about it because people who had attended the PAX show saw it.
this game's gonna own

25.05. Also, the minigun has enough ammo for three bursts.

Oh, objective wise, good catch.
From the new footage:

This is how most of my soldiers in XCOM 2 are going to look
I think there are merits to a ragtag appearance but there's something awesome about that futuristic mobile infantry sort of look
At around 24:30 when the Grenadiers are loading, the second one has a hockey mask on.

Honestly, I think the ragtag works better with the premise. I might start filtering that onto my soldiers as my game starts picking up from the early era.
...
I personally headcanon that stuff as being old mothballed ADVENT gear that XCOM or other insurgents captured and put into service. Same with the guns.

My head sees they have a hierarchy and ranks, for me that don't really lend itself to rag tag resistance. But hey it's to each's own at least you have the choice to take your 'customization in what ever direction you see fit'
you can be a rag-tag resistance and still have a recognized command structure, especially when you're formed from what was originally an elite paramilitary fighting force

See: the Soviet Partisans.
see any partisans
I love listening to Jake Soloman talk about his games, half my hype for the roiginal xcom and this one is because of the way he is.

Everyone gets a flamethrower. You get a flamethrower. YOU get a flamethrower!
Is Long War really that hard or just an exaggeration?

Nah, it's easy, who has troubles fighting a 85 HP Sectopod that only receives about 1/3 - 1/2 damage you deal it?
Now for a more serious answer, you end up having to follow a meta, plus late game aliens not only become more in a single pod, but also get ridiculous amounts of HP and Damage Resistance.
the rubble from buildings looks nice but it doesn't scatter as much as i hoped for
I'm concerned the game will run like shit on my aging PC but I don't have the money to upgrade it right now so I'm just going to have to deal with it.
I'm probably going to just have my laptop when it comes out. Come on Intel integrated graphics.

I have the same fear. Although it's turn-based strategy so the number FPS won't be completely game changing, but I've got a feeling I'm gonna have to play with 20-30FPS on all-low settings.
I actually think I can manage a decent fps to settings ratio but I just won't be able to max it out and that's depressing.
My pc was so powerful when I built it originally that it only recently started to feel outdated.
Hopefully being PC exclusive they might focus a small amount of development on making sure it can run on as many as possible. I really don't want to wait to play it when it comes out.
I might have to run Hialgoboost with this (it cuts render quality when the fps goes below 30)

Completed it on Impossible and didn't really have much trouble. I guess it depends on your experience with X-Com itself and how good you are at these kinds of games.
Like I played so much of the Original X-Com over god knows how many years I can complete Superhuman with absolute ease.
So in the end. Varies from person to person.
I don't think Long War is too hard, I just don't like the way it adds dificulty, which is just tons of big numbers. I think playing it is boring.
