I am usually not one to be bothered by graphics but DAMN the artstyle in Xenonauts is fucking balls
The actual graphical level of a game is mostly irrelevant to it looking nice, but art style can make or break a game.
I am usually not one to be bothered by graphics but DAMN the artstyle in Xenonauts is fucking balls
Agreed. I was terribly hurt when it became apparent they weren't going to support any sort of graphical modifications. I personally think the armor design in the game is ass.

I hope that when XCOM 2 gets closer to release we get some more of Jake Solomon's great campaigning, like the streams he did with xcom 1
Meanwhile, in reddit, someone made an XCOM game that sets place between EW and XCOM2.. in Excel. https://www.reddit.com/r/Xcom/comments/3umiec/i_made_an_xcom_game_in_excel/ http://www.filedropper.com/exlcomtestrelease
I thought they did, it was just super difficult because each armor sprite had dozens upon dozens of individual animation sprites.
You can do it just as far as I'm aware the devs have done nothing to help. Unless their sprite artist is absolutely mad they probably used a method similar to how you can make custom sprites for FO2 using what essentially is a actual 3D model in front of a green screen. To support custom players they'd just have to release the skeleton and animations for us to capture the animations and then we have the capability for new armors, weapons, and so on.
fuck me i lost my LW save that was like 4-5 moths irl months of effort [editline]1st December 2015[/editline] not in consecutive time obv but still

Just a heads up the Facepunch Xcom rework does not work with any texture mods
Just a heads up the Facepunch Xcom rework does not work with any texture mods
Wait what, it doesn't? That makes no sense though, in no way does my mod change how textures are handled. What texture mods are you using, and are you using the vanilla texmod?

Today, we look at Shanty Towns. ADVENT may have control of Earth, but there are still pockets of humanity where folks live by some semblance of the old way in XCOM 2. These ramshackle Shanty Towns, despite being tucked away from the more densely-populated areas of the world, are always susceptible to attack, and so the citizens within live in a constant state of fear. This ever-present state of anxiety can take its toll on the families, who must be willing to pick up and run at any time. But, if anything, this life on the run from ADVENT has taught these individuals a deep appreciation for freedom - and that freedom gives them something to hold on to; a reason to keep going. Throughout XCOM 2, you’ll likely deploy troops to one or more of these Shanty towns, Commander. While there, be sure to take care when detonating fuel canisters and vehicles. While the ultimate goal is to defeat ADVENT, we should be mindful of the lives we’re affecting every time we turn one of these communities into a war zone. I'm going to try my damnedest to avoid environmental destruction in those places.
Hot Damn
im glad they're not going mainstream, every game that does gets ruined. and no im not a hipster, just noticed a trend happening.
I'd say XCOM is pretty mainstream as far as turn based strategy goes. It's not mega popular, but more likely than not the average pc gamer has heard of it even if they don't really know what it's about.
Hope with the amount of hype behind Xcom 2, that it'll be awesome, I really do.
im glad they're not going mainstream, every game that does gets ruined. and no im not a hipster, just noticed a trend happening.
What do you mean mainstream? They exclusivized, but that was mostly to preserve quality and because they (think) can pull it off. I really, really hope they get the sales their need for an XCOM 3.

Enforcer was ahead of its time

Granted, I have the standards of a dead rat so I'll play anything just as long as it's fun. Don't really know about TW or WT since I've never actually played those before. I mean, I see how FO4 got dumbed down and the positive thing about that is that they gained a lot more technical & gameplay integrity. WoW if anything is appealing against the dudebros by killing off the Horde and it's most interesting characters.
Wait what, it doesn't? That makes no sense though, in no way does my mod change how textures are handled. What texture mods are you using, and are you using the vanilla texmod?
I used it with texmod and none of the textures are showing up
I used it with texmod and none of the textures are showing up
I tried it and it works fine, so it's on your end. My guess is your Texture settings aren't set to High.

WoW if anything is appealing against the dudebros by killing off the Horde and it's most interesting characters.
since you haven't played WT or any newish total war games i'll avoid talking about them. FO4 got dumbed down in the RPG aspect, why make a new character or try new builds if you'll eventually get every perk ingame while maxing special, now some might argue over the fact that DLCs for both FO3 and FONV allows player to max out every skill and special but you'll have to go out your own way to do that esp in NV. WoW is a husk of its former self, now in its place is a ghoul parading in its skin, that skin has started to bloat which is why blizzard are pushing out legion.
Real time combat and direct unit control, when?
there's real time combat in Apocalypse, in fact it's the only way to play cause the turn based mode is super unbalanced you will get destroyed by brainsuckers early game
