You can manually control units in men of war??
You can manually control units in men of war??
direct control mode is manual control, although the camera angle and such won't automatically change
assault squad patch/dlc added a real third-person mode you can use in missions as well
since you haven't played WT or any newish total war games i'll avoid talking about them.
FO4 got dumbed down in the RPG aspect, why make a new character or try new builds if you'll eventually get every perk ingame while maxing special, now some might argue over the fact that DLCs for both FO3 and FONV allows player to max out every skill and special but you'll have to go out your own way to do that esp in NV.
WoW is a husk of its former self, now in its place is a ghoul parading in its skin, that skin has started to bloat which is why blizzard are pushing out legion.
Oh I see, you mean how they're casualizing it. You're totally right in that aspect, but it's almost always a tradeoff case; i.e I didn't really like the grinding aspect in WoW but now I run out of things to do way faster than if I had to max out my weapon skills or spend more time with professions.
It's extreme in FO4 with how they dumbed down the RPG, the dialogue, etc but if it makes way for better action combat then hell, it's alright by me. There's always the chance of Obsidian coming out with a RPG-centric FO:<title> that still mantains the good gameplay FO4 had.
This is good XCOM talk.

this is really good. im finding myself taking mixed weaponry alot, have you changed mecs? because i noticed shivs got changed for the better

Yeah, just like normal soldiers, all MECs are actually useful now instead of just having 2 MEC types and that's it. They too get small items with perks.
I tried it and it works fine, so it's on your end. My guess is your Texture settings aren't set to High.
They are. It usually takes 2-3 minutes for my game to launch with texmods, texture detail and filtering are set to high
I'll be cynical and assume that if you destroy a shanty town accidentally/intentionally during a mission, you'll get a notification after the mission stating civilian opinion has dropped by 2.

Not sure what else to tell you. Try loading it with TexMod Auto loader or Easy Tex Mod. I tried running the military retexture and it was fine.

Damn, now I'm hyped all over again
Not overly happy about more customization and a whole new class being behind a paywall but then again DLC's seems to be the way to go in this modern age.
Either way I'm still going to play the shit out of XCOM 2.

The new class isn't out until (American, I assume) Summer 2016, so it's just free DLC for later on.
From my understanding the digital deluxe edition just acts as a season pass of sorts for future DLC. I seriously doubt that they'll lock an entire class behind a pre-order thing
It’s an exciting day for XCOM fans, Commander. We’ve revealed the XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, available for pre-purchase now at $74.99, which includes the full XCOM 2 base game, digital soundtrack and the Reinforcement Pack. But what’s in the Reinforcement Pack? Let’s break it down.
The XCOM 2 Reinforcement Pack includes:
[/ist]
Anarchy’s Children: Rebellion-themed content with more dramatic soldier customizations. Available Spring 2016.
Alien Hunters: New gameplay highlighting an elite alien hunting unit of XCOM as it tracks down “Ruler” aliens, plus a new mission, additional soldier customization options and more powerful weapons and armor. Available Summer 2016.
Shen’s Last Gift: Introduces a brand-new soldier class with unique upgradeable weapons, armor and customization features, as well as an additional narrative-driven mission and map. Available Summer 2016.
Additionally, all pre-orders and pre-purchases of XCOM 2 or XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe Edition will receive the Resistance Warrior Pack, which offers additional soldier customization options like bonus outfits, headgear and custom facial war paint. The Resistance War Pack also includes a “Survivor of the Old War,” a new XCOM recruit who will appear in the Avenger’s barracks.
XCOM 2 launches on PC worldwide February 5, 2016.
***Note: The Digital Deluxe Edition and Reinforcement Pack will not show up on Steam until the servers update today at 10am PT.***

Literally says it right there.
The soundtrack is rocking, I can't wait for the game now and it's 2 months away.
The new class isn't out until (American, I assume) Summer 2016, so it's just free DLC for later on.
Not free.
Not free.
Perhaps I should have phrased that better. Free DLC for later on if you pre-order the game. Nothing wrong with that, it's not a day 1 bonus and being made by Firaxis it will almost certainly be available to buy separately upon release. Because of the delay between release of the game and the DLC, the game itself will have dropped in price enough (or close enough) that you'd be paying the same price.
Literally says it right there.
That's part of the Reinfocement Pack, which I would expect can be purchased as DLC when it's out if you didn't get the digital deluxe edition.
Not free.
Going by the two DLC, DDE probably will end up having included the season pass, whereas anyone who doesn't get it has to buy the DLC when it releases in the summer next year.
Shen’s Last Gift
Calling it, 5th class is MECs. Either that or tiny cyborg soldiers.
Hope they do another expansion pack like they did with EW.
XCOM official twitter just confirmed that the Reinforcement pack is indeed a seperate DLC that is included with the digital deluxe edition, but can be bought individually.
They also confirmed that the class in the DLC is not the 5th class and that we will be getting some info about it soon.
Reinforcement pack? Wait, as in the enemies ability to use reinforcements mid mission?

Nah, just a catchy name for a DLC.
Nah, just a catchy name for a DLC.
Ohhh. Thank fuck. Had me worried there for a second.
The name "Shens Last Gift" pretty much screams MEC, SHIV or Cyborg to me.
The name "Shens Last Gift" pretty much screams MEC, SHIV or Cyborg to me.
I would think that SHIV's are the most likely, but I do like the idea of non-MEC cyborg units, even though I can't really think of a way to make them work without being a different version of another class
