Well you're also the leader of the bunch with all the medals and most survived missions.
even my canadian virtual clone is better at xcom than me
Have an X-Com comic
http://comic.strategycore.co.uk/#!/
Damn, the art in that comic is really good.

The dialogue/writing is pretty awful though
If you do buy the game from GMG... Use 25PERC-2016GM-WTHGMG. It brings the dde to 56
It's $46 AUD on cdkeys... with the current exchange rate that's practically free for the US.
Well for one we could make that Warhammer mod everyone keeps mentioning. Star Wars mod, etc.
Speaking of, here's a little thing I put together. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to tell me what they'd like in the 40k mod.
[MOVEMENT AND SELECTION]
• Box select multiple soldiers
• Move multiple soldiers
• Action points (like original XCOM)
[COMBAT AND ABILITIES]
• NCOs, Commissars, and Officers can issue orders
o Volley fire! (each affected soldier fires three times, 3 turn recharge, officers only)
o Suppressive fire! (each affected soldier lays down a cone of suppression, 2 turn recharge, NCOs and Commissars only)
o Take cover! (each affected soldier hunkers, gains 1.5-2x the benefit of regular hunker, becomes immune to crits if not already, 3 turn recharge)
o Over the top! (each affected soldier increases their action points by half for two turns, 4 turn recharge, officers and Commissars only)
o Hold position! (each affected soldier goes on overwatch and can fire twice on overwatch, 4 turn recharge, officer only)
o Fight, damn you! (the selected soldier removes panic, 2 turn cooldown, NCOs and officers only)
o Summary Execution (selected soldier is killed, all soldiers remove panic and receive a bonus to aim, no recharge, Commissar only)
o Others to come
• Large number of soldiers possible
• Air support
• Off-map artillery support
• Transport vehicles
• Others to come later
[SQUAD LOADOUT]
• Every soldier has access to primary weapon, secondary weapon, armor, and items
• Trade “x” amount of soldiers for vehicles
• Soldiers per battle depends on the selected transport(s)
o 12 soldiers per Valkyrie and chimera
o 6 soldiers per Vendetta
o Etc etc
• Squad/platoon deployment system
o 0-1 command squad (5 soldiers)
o 1+ guardsmen squads (5-10 soldiers)
o 0+ heavy weapons teams (2 soldiers)
o 0+ conscript squads (10+ meatshields)
• Squads can be created prior to mission deployment and assigned to each mission as necessary
[PLANNED FEATURES]
• Limited ammo
• Limited assets (e.g. if you lose a Valkyrie, it’s gone)
• Cooperative multiplayer
o Each player is assigned “x” number of squads that they command
o All players use the same turn
o Turn ends when all players press “end turn” or when all action points are used
• Battle replays (all turns play through simultaneously and in sequence, basically creating a movie)
• Oh yeah, and GORE!!
[CAMPAIGN IDEAS]
• Early to midgame are defending a city against heretics
• Late game is reclaiming the planet with the help of reinforcements
• Fight against Orks and Heretics (Chaos included)
A lot of this stuff is subject to change, especially where balance is concerned. There's also a lot of stuff I'm probably forgetting, so please feel free to let me know if there's anything you think I'm missing.
"Noob"
Seriously not going for Rookie? Wow man.

My current 40k rule set for Enemy Within:
1. Rookies have to rush for the Meld, no dallying.
2. Those who panic must be shot.
3. Laser guns only, plasma is for Xenos
4. In the Grimm darkness of the present there is no Save Scumming.
I also started a "Last Chancers" campaign in Enemy Within that was ridiculously fun. I'm looking fun to playing through it again with the new character creator.

but space marines used plasma guns?
All I've wanted, and what I've been asking for since mod tools have been announced, is a Valkyria Chronicles mod.
[img_thumb]http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/valkyria/images/6/63/Squad_7.png/revision/latest?cb=20131123055858[/img_thumb]
It would work so well; there's overlap with the class system and rank, and a bunch of other features.
Psyonics could even be Valkyria.
But models were never ported or made, so it'll never happen unfortunately.
A Valkyria Chronicles mod would be neat for sure.

Just pre-ordered XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe Edition earlier this week
Also I'm going back to work on my X-Com(ics)
I'm hoping for star wars mod where you can only use blades that look like lightsabers.
I want a SWAT 4 mod, the default gameplay is already a good fit.
I want a SWAT 4 mod, the default gameplay is already a good fit.
Shadowrun mod? :v:
Long War 2 is going to be a catastrophe
[editline]13th January 2016[/editline]
instead of coming out 2 years ex post facto it'll come out in like 5 weeks and you'll have to go bowling, literal bowling against sectopods, and outdrink them in the process. it'll include a downloadable breathalizer that only activates once you vomit pure vodka onto your cpu fan.
[editline]13th January 2016[/editline]
only then will it unlock the campaign. perfect bowling score mandatory.
So this happened while I was playing in TFTD. I discovered that there are 5 alien bases very close to mine, and another alien base in Antarctica.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/SVqw8As.png[/t]
I could wipe these bases off the map, but I'm gonna keep them there, for resources and insurance. I'm gonna extend this war for as long as I can to make a big profit, and if I'm in trouble, I can raid the bases for resources and brownie points from the council.
I think probably one of the first "successful" mods for XCOM2 will be a mod that re-adds (or expands) Second Wave options.
I'm hoping for a mod that is an imitation of the Metal Gear V Flag creator.
Imagine customisable units with customisable flags on them.
can't wait for the inevitable suicide vest and isis flag mods

I actually had sort of a Metal Gear mod idea in my head myself, but it'd probably require a whole game rework and i'm no modder.
Three factions between the Patriots, who may as well be the aliens equivalent that have control over most of the world, Philantrophy, and Outer Heaven. Patriots focus primarily on combat and aim to destroy Outer Heaven via their PMC units, Outer Heaven fights an escalating battle against the Patriots and mix stealth and combat focuses as they start with a single Metal Gear, and Philantrophy are entirely stealth-focused as they aim to destroy the Metal Gears of both factions.
I just want a mod that makes the game last as long as you want. Basically long war I suppose...

can't you just do this by not assaulting the overseer UFO?
can't you just do this by not assaulting the overseer UFO?
Or just not using the Gollop Chamber.
can't you just do this by not assaulting the overseer UFO?
Yeah, though I find it gets pretty stale once you've fully leveled your A-team. The same missions just keep coming and the aliens threat development ceases, so you're always facing the same pods and the gameplay doesn't throw any new curveballs at you.
UFO Defense maintained a sense of urgency through the inevitable infiltration missions, Long War does the same via the continual advancement of alien/exalt tech-levels giving their units better stats and perks.
I wonder how XCOM2 handles the end-game in this regard.
Shadowrun mod? :v:
This could be cool, but, Shadowrun with classes doesn't seem right to me
This could be cool, but, Shadowrun with classes doesn't seem right to me
Ya what mate? The classes they had in returns/dragonfall could easily be re-interpreted to fit Xcom.
