Yeah well, I don't think it's canon that XCOM would have wiped on the first encounter with the aliens and instead would have lasted for at least a few months before getting their shit kicked in. In my headcanon, the Advent took XCOM's MEC designs and incorporated it into their own. The Advent cybertroopers look awfully similar to XCOM MECs, since they're all blocky and stuff.

The Advent MEC's [sp] descriptions specifically mentions they used Shen's design [/sp]

However, it does mean that the concept of XCOM looking into MECs during the first war is canon.

I'd assume that it just means that XCOM looked into using meld for cybernetics, but never got around to actually building the suit to interface with.
Meld research is one of the starter techs in vanilla, after all.

Welp, I managed to fight and win my way until the Base Defense, it was a nice run. Every time I get closer to my goal of Ironman Impossible before XCOM 2 arrives.
My only problem is how to progress, I tried a MEC in the first month and that saved my life, but my research for lasers was delayed a lot. Should I focus MEC, then capture aliens to boost research?
Please help.
Put an arc thrower on a rookie so you can take the riskier stuns, that'll help you advance research faster.

I haven't updated it to 1.0, it's on Beta 15F3. Haven't really had the time to update it since they've added a lot of ini modifiers that I gotta update, but that's the easy part. Mind you, the rework isn't just a few ini changes, I edit the actual UPK files for a lot of the changes, so it's gonna be a painful HEX Editing fiasco again :v:

Of course. You're doing this with your free time. Take your time. I'd rather have it good (and functional) than it to be rushed with lazy edits.

Actually finding her as a dark VIP would be interesting, she was certainly more willing to push ethics than Shen (though not as far as EXALT), or at any rate didn't raise objections to anything. She might join them with the idea "Think how much we have to gain and learn from them".
I caved in and watch TB's review copy video in spite of my xcom blackout for a few months.
All that did is just increase my hype meter. I hate myself.
