No, not during missions, I mean to complete the game. [editline]20th January 2016[/editline] As in, if you take too long to do the first mission instead of sectoids and the sectoid commander it'll be filled with mutons.
Oh. Then in that case yeah, alien spawns are based on the month. You can still take however long you want, but the soft time limit then is the world panic level. You lose when four (I think) countries pull out of the project.

It's 8 countries. It's like y'all don't even play XCOM. Shameful.
I still find it funny how despite the fact that European XCOM base is located in Poland, Poland is not a member of XCOM "yeah sure just put that base there they wont notice"

Imagine if at the last moment they will delay release date again for couple more months, that would be the tits. *based on nightmare I just had*
I see, guess I'll just keep grinding on until I feel I want to finally stop.
I was talking more late-game where losing a soldier is extremely punishing to the point where it's safer to build a SHIV than try sending a Rookie / Squaddie out there. Even with all the high tech armour and guns, they simply have such terrible stats that they're borderline unusable at that stage. I wouldn't mind a game that was more lethal at the cost of being less punishing. Personally I think it would be much better if normal UFO's still showed up, at least those would give you the option to send out your B-Team so you have a healthy number of replacements at all stages of the game. Darkest Dungeon lets you do that.
Get squad size 2, as soon as you viably can and always take a rookie or squaddie on missions unless it's a do or die mission (bomb disposal). You give them the best tools you can to ensure they A) stay Alive and B) get at least 1 easy kill (aka grenade). And hell sometimes that shit rookie can pull of that wonder shot which saves the day, just keep them in reserve and never rely on them for anything other than grenades, any shot they can take should be taken as a bonus. It's pretty easy really, i tend to make sure my barracks is full of Corporals at least. You can easily beat the game with just the 4 man squad, to put things into perspective. Last thing, Light plasma rifle has + 10 aim, then the scope for an extra plus 10. Give it to a rookie and their aim with be at 85, pretty reliable. In fact keep the LPR's for rookies even if you have a Plasma Rifle going spare, it's better to increse the odds of hitting an enemy than it is to maybe deal more damage to themif they don't miss (with a rookie).
It's 8 countries. It's like y'all don't even play XCOM. Shameful.
If people haven't lost their campaigns enough to become well acquainted with the loss conditions, how is it shameful :v:
Slap a blue, teal, and beige paint job on it and it'll fit right in with the Combine imo
A lil' bit too machine and too complicated (or too detailed, one could say) of a design for Combine
A Cyberdisk and 3 Drones exploded when I activated them in a terror mission , they simply took a move and BOOM!, disk no more. Then the game throws 2 at me at the next turn And a MEC died with the most depressing line ever: "I did what I could" as he lifted his arm to the sky. Gosh XCOM, I can't handle my emotions
A lil' bit too machine and too complicated (or too detailed, one could say) of a design for Combine
Ehh, the general shape is there. I do agree it needs to look a bit more organic
Ehh, the general shape is there. I do agree it needs to look a bit more organic
I think the EU/EW Sectopod is more the Combine's speed. Just retexture it to look more like an exoskeleton.
-snip on second thoughts that doesn't make sense.- [editline]20th January 2016[/editline] Maybe they support Xcom but aren't official members?
I'm pretty sure that the XCOM project has like, "major" members (see member screen) who helped start the project in the first place and then there's "minor" members who help too but in smaller ways (I.E. soldiers and housing, there's polish, swedish, norwegian and a fuckload of other nationalities from countries not marked on the member map).
For the Facepunch character pool, we should make all the administrative staff Dark VIPs. Operation Facepunch: Assassinate Gary.
For the Facepunch character pool, we should make all the administrative staff Dark VIPs. Operation Facepunch: Assassinate Gary.
Yeah why not, none of the mods here would object. ...Especially when there aren't any following XCOM.
Anything for the cause right?
I thought robocop 2014 was a surprisingly good film
So what are Dark VIPs everyone keeps talking about?
I also like the realisation that in this scene, it's implied that he literally doesn't have the choice to die - even if he freaks out bigtime they'll just sedate him and try another round of persuasion. he's too expensive a project to just let go [editline]20th January 2016[/editline]
So what are Dark VIPs everyone keeps talking about?
they're like... alien sympathisers and bad guys?
I thought robocop 2014 was a surprisingly good film
To each's own i guess, i personally would not say it was a good film but I'm willing to say that it did have some good moments.
So what are Dark VIPs everyone keeps talking about?
Dark VIPs are (most likely) human members of the Advent Administration. Certain missions in XCOM 2 require you to either eliminate or extract Dark VIPs as mission goals. Cool thing is you can flag people in your Character Pool to appear as Soldiers, VIPs, and/or Dark VIPs. So we can have all of our favorite Facepunchers show up in Dark VIP missions, beat them over the head, bind and gag them, then take them back to our secret flying terrorist hideout, and hurl them off somewhere over Africa about a mile up.
Yeah why not, none of the mods here would object. ...Especially when there aren't any following XCOM.
Was already planning on doing that. I'll be sure to set up a google doc for the character pool or something when the game comes out.
To each's own i guess, i personally would not say it was a good film but I'm willing to say that it did have some good moments.
yeah I mean I definitely define "entertaining" as good and have low standards lol on topic, the power swords vaguely remind me of the dragon's tooth from deus ex
Here's a neat heads up, people who want the steelbook can get it from amazon.de, in USD it comes out to ~$73, but you won't get it till the week after at the soonest. I'm weighing how badly I want to play vs the collectible case. Also 25% off at GMG. [editline]19th January 2016[/editline] Interestingly, this means that if you were already ordering a physical copy from Amazon (in the US), the steelbook is only a few dollars more and days later from Germany.
But won't it be, you know, in German?
took me so long to realize that the logo was a sectoid made of skulls I thought it was just a type of alien
But won't it be, you know, in German?
and it doesn't come with the DLC stuff
But won't it be, you know, in German?
I figured I'd just switch the language over to English, but I decided to take the 25% off at GMG instead, so I got digital deluxe for less than the base game. I can get a box later, right now I'd rather save a few dollars.
