Problem with van doorn, zhang and the french girl. All of them can die. Not saying they could not be the barracks go between but if we're having our actions carry over then it does present a bit of a retcon if a dead character who we had die gets resurected.
Maybe another woman? Maybe a genemod trooper that due to her failing augmentations, she's been sidelined and left in a wheelchair?
Why not just have Bradford return? Council MIB is returning, so why not him as well?
Why not just have Bradford return? Council MIB is returning, so why not him as well?
I can see him and Vahlen coming back, but Shen is likely going to be dead of old age by then and we were thinking of a barracks representative.
I can see him and Vahlen coming back, but Shen is likely going to be dead of old age by then and we were thinking of a barracks representative.
Not if he augments himself. I want brain-in-a-jar Shen after realizing maybe humanity does have to go a bit further with mechanization.

MEC Shen or Shen-in-a-jar please. Or maybe PC Shen, so we'll have a advisor PC with deep philosophical thoughts.
Picked up Enemy Unknown on sale, I loved the original. Hyped as fuck for 2.
Why did they have to name it "XCOM 2"? All the other XCOM's had other titles. Plus XCOM 2 would probably make people think of Terror From the Deep.
Also ufopaedia is slow as fuck for some reason.
I wonder how they're going to handle recruiting in this? You can't really levy from nations anymore.
I hope it's like some of the Metal Gear games where you can kidnap enemies and send them back to your base to convert them.
Neural Rehabilitation Center:
This building allows for captured ADVENT soldiers and Hybrids to be "persuaded" into joining our cause. Upon success the selected captives become new Recruits.
(Basically a glorified torture chamber where you completely fuck with their minds and use heavy brainwashing to turn them to your side. This is something I'd love to see).

I'd rather it be that their minds were 'fucked' by the aliens, you capturing them 'unfucks' their mind by breaking a link or what ever.

To be honest, anyone who we had survive in our games could do the job, none of them ever spoke before meaning they could all have the same voice (1 male 1 female) and they could just be referred to by rank instead of name when heard over the PA or in a cutscene. It'd be a nice personal touch, and yeah i see Bradford coming back with vahalen anyway. Shen could have a cameo i guess, maybe lying in a hospital bed somewhere with intell we need forcing us to go infiltrate the place and see him one last time.

Probably the fact that XCOM 2 was announced this very day and now people are hyped as hell, with a lot of them going to UFOpaedia to reminisce or summat.
Not sure if it's already been posted, but xcom complete pack is on sale right now:

So this happened in my Long War campaign today

Can you really pull the trigger when he's giving you such a adorable face to look at?
Can you really pull the trigger when he's giving you such a adorable face to look at?
i blasted the fuckers face away
i hate the bastards
they took so many of my troops' lives
That sniper is like "Uhhhhh, commander?"
Wouldn't it be cool if you could set your soldiers to go into melee overwatch with their machetes? Or a stealth overwatch where they only fire if someone else attacks first. That way you could catch enemy patrols by surprise or move an assault up close without worrying too much if they'll be flanked by an enemy running right past them.
I want laser swords
Firaxis please let us get laser swords to melee aliens with
Looks like the new class is probably machete-wielding soldier, given that they focused so much on the machete guy in the trailer. That or the machete is a new addition to the assault.

That actually has a lot of opportunities to play around with. Maybe you can dual wield machetes/swords or shit like that
Ok so i just realized the aliens have actually bombed all the earth cities and the Refuges mentioned are coming from bombed ones into new alien ones,
And the gene therapy is turning people into the "Evolved Sectoids".
Looks like the new class is probably machete-wielding soldier, given that they focused so much on the machete guy in the trailer. That or the machete is a new addition to the assault.
I got the impression that it might be a Drone Operator class. That Drone definitely looked to be controlled by one of the guys.
Sword wielding guy is likely to be the Nu-Assault class. CQB in all its forms.
I want laser arrows for snipers, then we could go really old school.
I do believe we'll see some Human-Sectoid hybrids (Apocalypse, ho!) but yeah I think the evolved sectoid is just that, an "evolved" (likely forced through gene therapy and splicing, or yeah, could be more of an ethereal-sectoid hybrid) version of the sectoid we all know and love.
We'll get the good old fashioned Human-Sectoids as people to save and use as squaddies if we get them at all, hopefully. I'm interested to see how they'd make them look now that we're in the golden age of not pixelated sprites.
The "Evolved Sectoid's" are Humans.
When sniper rifles just don't cut it anymore.

How about a gun, that shoots machetes! If this isn't a cheat code (Yes that thing that used to be cool in videogames) I'm going to be sad.
Anyway, I bought Enemy Within and the other 2 DLCs. Time to replay this game, I stopped playing before because my drivers used to die when checking for activity when I was in the base.
OH I know! For the machete class maybe a shield to go along with it and as you progress with tech, it can be deployable cover
AAAAAAA i cant wait for this game
I have a genuine question: why does the snakemen have boobs?

Mutated humans.
Mutated humans.
I thought snakemen were already part of the alien coalition before the takeover? I though the only alien hybrid is the sectoid/human crossover?
Really hoping ballistics last much longer into the game or act as a sidegrade, because damn them guns is sexy. And it'd make sense for the stealth elements; you can't stick a suppressor on a gun that fires slow moving loud ass bright green globs of plasma.
