Sell your extra items Don't build more armours/weapons than you need. Unequip everything from the characters who aren't active. Keep an Arc thrower on your team so that you can capture plasma weapons.
Is there any reason to capture aliens instead of kill them once you have enough plasma weapons and have interrogated them? Just about all recipes need weapon fragments and corpses can be sold, and I didn't see a "recycle weapons" option nor a corpse appearing for captured aliens.
you need to keep capturing them to unlock the petting zoo
Please bring back Alium ranks from original, as well as a mountain of irrelevant fluff research. Those were fun. [editline]20th June 2015[/editline] Also, just finished XCom:Declassified. It's a solid, if disappointing (especially considering how nothing of E3 stuff got leftover). It's basically UFO (TV series), the game, and overall, it's well done. I loved exploring XCOM headquarters, and the special abilities made the gameplay interesting. There are DLCs, but I don't think they are worth it, even if they do add extra content. Also, everyone in XCOM is a fucking Hitler, based on Endings.

The fact that that game could've been so good even with all of the original content getting scrapped really bums me though-- the world-building, characters, and basic conceits of the gameplay are all really solid, but the story is padded and the moment-to-moment gameplay is just painfully janky and awkward.
The console roots of the project are too obvious (I had at one point got stuck with my cursor unable to move a turret selection, because the selection got stuck between the furthest placement range and an alien) and the fact that the gameplay comes down to "Get behind cover, shoot a few times, heal, shoot a few times, spam all the abilities like a deranged Pokemon trainer".
The Bureau's gameplay is pretty much just Mass Effect but not as good with turrets, and the plot wasn't anything exceptional, didn't really hold my interest at all.
what do you mean? if you get hurt but don't go down you can still fight.
I mean like someone gets a leg blown off.
Jesus Christ, a Sniper with Squadsight and a Scope really takes a sledgehammer to the kneecaps of some enemies.
Upgrading to 15d really helps on the balance. Just before i upgraded I had a terror mission where i got swarmed with 8 floaters and 5 chryssalids at the same time :v:
For some reason I didn't realize that Snipers could use their pistols after moving, so I was having them Hunker Down half the time instead of Pistol Overwatch.
For some reason I didn't realize that Snipers could use their pistols after moving, so I was having them Hunker Down half the time instead of Pistol Overwatch.
shit really? goddamnit.
What the fuck, I just had 4 missions pop up within days of eachother, and the last one was the first Terror mission. I had 2 soldiers left to send, and lost one of them to the fucking chrysalids, and failed the mission. Now Africa is a lost cause. Fuck.
I got a little carried away with soldier grinding in my first playthrough of EW. My sniper reached colonel before I built my alien containment facility. I don't even have a laser sniper rifle to give her.
XCom 2 looks pretty great, I like the setting that they're aiming for. I would love to have a mission type where you just cause mayhem and destruction on the alien structures, destroying everything and everyone that is allied with the aliens. A dream would be to invade an alien planet and just basically cause massive destruction on their side.

AJ interview
That was a nice interview. Joe can be a bit obnoxious but when it comes to interviews, he always asks some pretty tough and unpleasant questions.
His smiling face at the start gives me the impression that he's just thinking "I'm going to fuck shit up you cocksucker, are you ready for this?" Pretty decent interview though. I like that he asks the questions, rather than just go through the motions.
God, Joe is really a hard hitting reviewer, but other than tending to interrupt the other guy, he's what other interviewers really should be more like. Also we got pretty much confirmed that no bigass mechs. I still have my hope up for Adam Jensen sneaky stabby jumpy augs, then.
I still have hope for MECs. We must believe. It should be too hard for them to technically do. (they've already done it and have the enemies) the main issue is- at what point does it become story appropriate to field mecs.

Maybe there's not going to be real need for MECs of your own and maybe you will be kind of expected to reliably hack the alien ones and turn them against them temporarily as needed?
AJ interview
rude manchild
Salvage and then reprogram their mechs to use? I prefer how theirs look to the MECs, very clean and sci-fi-ish.
I can imagine player mecs working if you could somehow recover enemy mecs and then convert them in to power armor esque suits (kinda like that cargo robot in Aliens). I just don't see anything past jury rigging them to support a human pilot without advanced facilities and the support of earth's brightest scientists/engineers behind them.

Some sort of armor based off of their mechs so we got some beefy power armour would be cool yeah.
