I agree, I'm also getting tired of all these goddamn collaborators in the thread.
You think the aliens are nice, mhuh? Wait untill the pop your brain and put it in a jar for "science".
If Firaxis doesn't add xeno-recruits into the game or as a later expansion, given their attitude towards fanart of The Viper, it will be modded in, for sure.
Maybe they'll add more colors for the things, too. Thirty-one flavours of snake. Hmm.
A pectoid with titan armor would be pretty fuckin' cool.
What, like, on your side?
Something tells me things like Pectoids wouldn't really be the kind to "see the light" in your just cause.
If this sort of "conversion" of xeno units were a thing, I could see it being an extension of the usual abduct-and-interrogate, except with the option to coerce them onto your side of the insurgency, with varying results. Simple fodder like sectoids will be quick to be deprogrammed of ADVENT control, characters like Vipers being a sort-of reliable turncoat for your operations, gene therapy monstrosities like the Pectoid and Berserker are really something you should just cut up, and beings like Ethereals having a one-in-a-hundred chance of even thinking about it(, but it would inevitably happen, and it'll be something you'd have to prove with footage).

Hey, you never know, man. The truth is out there.
At last until release. :v:

Man I always wanted to mod that in for og xcom
Dunno if it's possible, like a full thing with support for ayys wearing armor with fitting sprites and all, but damn if I don't want to fight alongside a friendly big head dude with an Elvis haircut
So I just watched the beagle vod. And...
[sp] Hi guys, it's me Xavith blueshirt. Rip me.[/sp] It was god damn exciting watching though :v:

The XCOM 2 webpage mentioned mind control coming into play far earlier than in XCOM:EU/EW. It'd be neat if you got the abilities early too, but I dunno how since it took a long ass time for XCOM to even realize psionics were a thing.
I really enjoyed MCing aliens in XCOM, even if you only could do so for like 2-3 missions before reaching the absolute endgame @ Temple Ship.
Can anyone tell me what this hot bullshit is? I'm assaulting the temple ship for the first time ever and my units for some reason cannot any longer advance further than this line. They just split. How the fuck am I supposed to take the boss on with 3 units? Is restarting going to be the only option?

Yeah those doors are glitchy as fuck, you gotta be really careful with them. So yeah, a restart of the mission is the quickest solution. If you are on Ironman, just kill your volunteer.

I think I just broke LW with how much mobility you can have. It's gotten to the point that even with motion scanners I run the risk of tripping every pod. I should try and do an olympics in Deluge with a commander and some combat stims to see of I can clear it in 1 turn.

give that man a ghost suit, make the rest of the squad snipers, and see what happens.
i've been up and down the length of it twice and there are no enemies left but the mission isn't complete, and during the alien turn it takes a second to think as if there was a pod left
anyone?
Well, finished my first playthrough. [sp]On Normal[/sp] [sp]savescumming like a little bitch[/sp]
I didn't really expect the final boss to be so, well, easy. He went down in a double tap from a plasma sniper. I thought the three ethereals that appear were just normal ones and after killing them +2 elite mutons the Uber one would appear.
anyone?
Enable the console, killaliens, done.
woah i didnt even know there was a console, thanks

It wasn't until late into my second play that I discovered how to use squadsight effectively. My sniper didn't even enter the final room, it was a clear shot straight down the middle.
doubletap squadsight snipers are basically the grim reaper, using them right gets so many kills.
Babies first classic mode victory.

Now, never to go through that hell again because I suck ass.
I'm wondering if I should complete Ironman Impossible on Vanilla before dying repeatedly in LW Brutal

I never understood what the world column was supposed to mean
is it average or total? Cuz I don't think half of people have more than 170,000 scientists, but I'm also pretty sure more than 2 laboratories have been built worldwide by now

I noticed that in Brutal, the aliens almost never miss. And as soon as you go Classic, which is one notch below, the aliens almost never hit. :v:
At least in the beginning you can notice a pretty huge difference. With Brutal, the drones will constantly crit through full cover, and on Classic, well.. mostly misses.

maybe someone fucked up the counter by giving themselves like a billion scientists w/ cheats or the dev console?

IMO Drones are the only things that turn me off majorly in Long War at the start it makes less sense in that you need someone with a shotgun to accurately hit them.

Yeah they are quite nasty.
I'd kinda understand hitting more often, but they seemed to have hit through anything, from any range. why.
Then again I'm still not sure what the armor stat means. Some have 3, some have -3, some have 0.

What if you were to "break" this mind control they have over them? What would happen?
Firaxis has to answer this somehow, be it ingame or in a later expansion. You just can't pass that dynamic up.

that was so fucking stupid
I started a new long war campaign (newest beta), and I got a supply barge on April 2016.
I only took one casualty. And I got a shit ton of alloys and elerium in return c:
