Classic Ironman and literally every single soldier that got up to Major has gotten a medic skill... except for the only support I have out of 6 heavies who has all sorts of crazy ass combat skills. Randomized skill trees are really fun but when they fuck you over on the only single-choice Major rank skill it's maddening.
Save me
you can end up rolling assaults with like 4 or 5 shots per round iirc
Speaking of SHIVs, it'd be neat if we could eventually upgrade them into unmanned mech troopers in XCOM 2 since the presence of actual MEC troopers is less than likely.
It'd make for a neat progression tree and would make them more of an attractive choice in the base game. You could also potentially give them a self-developing AI, which would be a good excuse for allowing them to rank up and choose different tactical skills.
Eh, remote MECs sound nice, but I still think pilot-able mecha is way cooler of an idea.

I mean, do you not want to defend Earth from xeno scum in your giant fucking robot?

From everything we've seen it seems like XCOM are going to be strongly against things such as gene modding and probably anything Meld related in the sequel here. I would personally really like to see some sorta loose "morality" system based off how much Meld and other alien tech you're willing to utilize to beat the aliens.

Like Pacific Rim, but smaller and not at all like Pacific Rim? Except for robots punching aliens of course. I can dig it.
Is there any particular reason why we need to saw off limbs in order to let someone pilot a mech-suit?

direct nerve interfacing and fuck yeah robots

Save on space.
I don't get why you need the MEC suit as well. Those bodies they give them look durable enough for combat on their own.
Whenever a soldier from Mexico joins my roster I'll name him Alpha Juan and make him the leader of my Mechas.
Alpha Juan has saved many a campaign.
Just finished watching my second cameo.
[sp] Riperino, but many souls were harvested. [/sp]
i got the Newfoundland mission, the plot escalation terror mission and two abductions back to back over four days, literally every single non-rookie is fatigued right now
kill yourself, Long War

I've finally gotten it down to a science to regularly be able to field 3 teams with officers and tactical squads that are ready for anything. Long War has responded by crashing my game now whenever I try to being a mission.
I really want to play Escalation.
Alright gents my latest attempt at long war ended with me losing basically everyone due to my own failure to take certain aspects of the game into consideration (primarily thin men rng) so im going to start a new one, taking what I know, and applying it to my first run with the FP names and playing bronze man mode starting in australia.
dis gon be gud.

Two abductions and a downed UFO later and still no deaths, shoutout to Wolfos for critically nailing an outsider in the back of the head as it tried to run away from jimbobjoe1234 flanking it.
Wolfos is now one of my new snipers and facepunch-1 is on duty, not a bad run for now.

Problem would be tech. XCOM 2 is not in a very good position development wise, atleast when you compare it to XCOMs old manufacturing lines and research capabilities.
Making a robot with AI and stuff might be easier than making a fully fledged mech suit, even more so if you lose the basis for your old tech which was direct interfacing via amputations.
It's like Ironman 2, the second Hammertech guy is not as smart as Robert Johnny Dunior so he just makes a buncha robots instead of a powered armor type of dealio.

Something tells me that the game will become much like old fashioned X-COM once you manage to get a country to secede from ADVENT, HQ and all.
From there, you'll probably have enough room for real research, and be able to field a larger military.
Had my first sectoid mech thing in my LW game.
Poor Zhang would've been gone if it weren't for my only medic getting to him in the nick of time.
(How do I change second wave options in game?)
You can only do that when starting a new game, after that, you can only see them. Can't be changed in the middle of a run. Also, remember to use [t][/t] for screenshots.

You can, but you need the console activated.

Bad things are about to happen but I don't want to say what.
Anybody know if there's a way to unlock or cheat a squad size of 6 at the very start of the game?
I want to start out with the hardest difficulty stuff with six people, not give them better gear, and see how long they last.

That's what I never got, if MEC troopers already have a decent cyberbody then why not have them still be able to wear Carapace, etc and still utilize normal pistols/rifles?
With no MEC suits they're just sitting ducks.
Bad things are about to happen but I don't want to say what.
I'm running on Ironman Impossible Long war and I keep getting between 15-20 Meld. There is ALWAYS something happening.

Oh god I think I know what you're talking about: Craptasket will die horribly

I always thought it'd be really cool design wise to have MEC soldiers in the field without their actual MECs.
So uh, I was doing Zhang's second mission and I found this, so I had to record it:
