i was just reading an old interview and and apparently overwatch will get taken sequentially in 2, which means your entire squad won't blow their overwatch on something that died to the "first" shot. instead it's going to be taken one at a time by order of proximity - a welcome change, also a pretty big buff

I noticed that in the gameplay trailer, where they snuck three troops up to three ADVENT. Two went into overwatch, one shot the guy in the middle, and the overwatch dealt with the others.
I can't wait to see how Chryssalids look in XCOM 2(if they even are in it), floaters too

This is the biggest change I'm excited for in XCOM 2. It was always annoying trying to lead a pod into an ambush just to have one dude draw the fire of all of my men and watch him take like 40 damage when he has 4.

Fucking finally, course they programmed the enemy AI to use drones to clear out overwatch to exploit [U]exactly[/U] that game mechanic in EW/EU.

I really can't wait for modding, I desperately want to make something that means you can direct Overwatch. The new news on it is welcome, but I'd love to designate things like doors (probably using a sphere of influence) for specific Overwatch, so that you don't end up wasting your Overwatch on some Pectoids when there's a Viper hiding around the corner that's a much bigger priority to take down quickly.

Maybe even do it live, and direct fire during that 5-30 second window of slow-motion action you get during Overwatch. It'd be some fun micro to break up the slow tactical pace.
