I imagine the way you'll lose in XCOM 2 is by losing all of you people honestly, that seems reasonable to me given that atleast at first you won't have any new people coming in.
Or the Avenger.
Or the Avenger.
The Avenger becoming spotted and getting into an airbattle.
The Avenger becoming spotted and getting into an airbattle.
Temple Ship Assault equivelant is you crashing the Avenger into Alien HQ.
The Avenger becoming spotted and getting into an airbattle.
I imagine it will be losing the air battle that is the lose condition, but yeah.
At that point it sounds like you'd slowly equip the Avenger with all the heaviest armaments you can find/scavange/build to approach HQ and then assault Alien HQ as the final mission.
Bunch of Plasma Bombs/Lances, Shit-Tonne of MAC Cannons, Laser Turrets everywhere, etc.

I've actually been thinking about recruitment a bit. Instead of recruitment being you choosing how many soldiers you want then paying a fee for each individual soldier, you'd have to pay for a general propaganda campaign and then the game will give you a few soldiers later or plenty depending on how many you had running at the same time.
It'd be neat if you also had to send a second Skyranger to pick them up with a chance of it being intercepted, so you could assign some interceptors/other flying things to guard it. If it gets downed, you have to do a rescue mission in order to get all your recruits. More missions woo

Didn't one of the UFO games do something like that? (Recalling one of the Jade Star LPs)
So what happened to EXALT after XCOM got squashed by the aliens? Did they turn into the ADVENT administration, or something else?
So what happened to EXALT after XCOM got squashed by the aliens? Did they turn into the ADVENT administration, or something else?
All we know is that there is apparently no connection between EXALT and ADVENT.
All we know is that there is apparently no connection between EXALT and ADVENT.
In that case, it'd be interesting if EXALT went underground just like XCOM did. Since EXALT didn't support the aliens either, I think it would be neat if you could temporarily ally with EXALT forces in a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of situation.
You only get to recruit soldiers when you take over a new territory and get access to their insurgents
Conquering the middle east may bring some interesting group dynamics
Pretty sure they said that in XCOM2 there's simply no eggsalt.
Maybe we'll have mission to rescue civilians who speak out against the aliens, or kidnap people who could be turned against them. It'd be cool if there was some kind of risk in getting new recruits, the bonus would be the anti-alien civvies could immediately start fighting as you're pulling them out letting you get some XP before they're even officially part of XCOM.

Damn it!

There probably wasn't enough time for Exalt to exist in the XCOM 2 timeline.
It'd be nice to be able to pick up their stow-away research. Or recruit a character with unique dialogue from them.
There probably wasn't enough time for Exalt to exist in the XCOM 2 timeline.
I thought that Exalt had existed for far longer than XCOM itself.
I thought that Exalt had existed for far longer than XCOM itself.
Probably canon that XCOM atleast took down Exalt even if they lost to the aliens.
I thought that Exalt had existed for far longer than XCOM itself.
They probably got crushed by the Aliens as well, can't image they'd like being subservient to the Advent. I'm not wrong in remembering that some of those flavor items and text make Exalt sound like they what to steal the Alien tech and then rebuild the world when the Aliens leave in their image, am I?

Nope, that is about right.
I thought that Exalt had existed for far longer than XCOM itself.
They are literally the Illuminati so yeah. I guess they just didn't hop on to the alien tech wagon fast enough to be relevant before the aliens took over.

My money is that they'll return in an expansion dedicated to politicking amongst the various rebel groups.

That pistol holy crap. It's the size of the fucking Trigun gun. Move a couple of lines around and it'd be a mirror image.

Sometimes, you just need a little more gun.

Now that thing looks like it can do some damage. Not like the little pea-shooter from the first.

I'm wondering about the specifics of this "Fan Fire" abilities. If it's like rapid fire where you get multiple hits with lower To-Hit that'd be great, especially against entrenched enemies or flying fucks with 2HP left.

If I didn't have contrary evidence, I would think you're just an XCOM news posting bot. Not that these posts aren't extremely appreciated though. This thread is literally my source for XCOM2 news.

I believe in a previous interview they said that in this universe eggsalt never got a chance to fully form since xcom got wiped out so early.
Have we seen anything about any sorta LMG or any machine gun in XCOM 2?
I believe in a previous interview they said that in this universe eggsalt never got a chance to fully form since xcom got wiped out so early.
But the Exalt flavor text from the crap you steal from their house points to them existing long before the Aliens even attacked.
Also it just occurred to me that Exalt probably has people inside XCOM, which is how they're able to fuck with your finances and research, as well as how they get their hands on Gene Modding tech, alien nades, and the hologlobe. I guess if XCOM failed before it really got underway Exalt would never get those tech advances.
