I've just realized, surely Xcom should send all their research around the globe once they've completed it? I'm sure the Chinese or the US could develop their own weapons based on the schematics, so that the national militaries can stand a chance.
Meh, honestly, I really wouldn't miss them at all. I can't really see how they gonna fit into the story in that shape, I don't like how they play in vanilla nor long war.
The same way they always did? As terror weapons. It has been implied that some of the people living outside of the Advent cities are supporting XCOM (They're getting recruits from somewhere), so I guess when Advent really want to punish an area they drop a bunch of Chryssalids into the shanty towns.

You give away tech through the requests thing and the grey market. and there's exalt it's sort of implied the alien tech found it's way around even if you didn't sell or trade it away
Soo... Does anyone know what ports UFO TTS use? I tried using 13135 but while I'm able to connect myself through another instance of the game, my friend can't.

It would be actually really cool if Long War incorporated very gentle and smooth variance in the size of people as well as even gentler variance between the ratio between their body and head size and if that did align with their health and def and agility. Not crazy big difference, but like +-20% variance. [editline]30th July 2015[/editline] It would make the units look a little bit more organic.
I know the idea of Xcom being the ones performing terror missions in Xcom 2 has been brought up a lot, but I had a similar idea with a similar concept that could be interesting. What if, after destabilizing a region enough you get the opportunity to launch a "revolt" mission? The general mission structure could be pretty similar to terror missions (kill aliums, rescue dipshits) but instead of aliens terrorizing a city, its a revolution in progress that needs a helping hand. When you reach a person in need of help, they're instead given a basic weapon and proceed to attempt to fight Advent / aliens with you. At the end of one of these missions, depending on how well you performed while saving rebels, you get given a few (or even none if you did very poorly) low/moderately levelled soldiers for your trouble, the lore-reason being that those are the most competent of the rebels you helped and thus get incorporated into the Xcom frontline force.

I've always wanted to control a clusterfuck of soldiers in non hyphened XCOM games and this'd be one step closer to achieving it, even if it's only for one mission every now and then.
Is XCOM 2 gonna start us off with only 4 dudes again? I hate that.
Is XCOM 2 gonna start us off with only 4 dudes again? I hate that.
I actually quite like small groups. It makes things quicker and more organised. Besides, in the beginning you're dealing with sectoids so it's not exactly difficult with 4 soldiers.

I don't know about you, but I definitely don't have the Officer Training School ready by then.

In Beagle's stream he gets glitched because of panic and Drones. The Drone then attempts to mate with the cursor. [vid]https://i.4cdn.org/vg/1438311518222.webm[/vid]
[vid]http://webm.host/450ee/vid.webm[/vid] I added appropriate music to it. [editline]30th July 2015[/editline] This is too much fun! https://gifsound.com/?gif=giant.gfycat.com/SleepyRepentantDodobird.gif&v=VOC0ig2Rk1g (Mind the bad gif, I'm not that good at them)

I was reading the chryssalid article and I noticed something interesting:
GAMESPOT: So the chryssalid returns, but outside of multiplayer, there's no chance of somehow recruiting one to join the XCOM forces, I presume? DEANGELIS: The chryssalid is very much still one of the alien occupiers of Earth. They are against XCOM. They will never become a part of your army.
Could it be possible to recruit aliens that are not lids to fight who believe what the ayy-er ups are doing is wrong?
I was reading the chryssalid article and I noticed something interesting: Could it be possible to recruit aliens that are not lids to fight who believe what the ayy-higher ups are doing is wrong?
Wasn't someone in this thread really wanting to subdue aliens and use them as soldiers for XCOM? I'm really bad with names. I still think you could potentially tame a Chryssalid the same way you tame any other non-sapient beast, only this time you'd be stacking twice as much shock collars!
That seems like wishful thinking at best.
It would help the story in my opinion as it makes aliens/alien politics more fleshed out and realized than just "oh evil ayys slay the xenos"

Red Mec looks like it will be the infantry equivalent of a squad commander, like in the demo they showed off where the Red Advent Soldier was the leader.
- 2 Ranger promotions revealed: Remaining concealed when rest of team has gone loud Melee boost Options are mutually exclusive
I think we all know what the better choice is.
