Throw me a clock and call me late, but I just learned that this is a thing.
That seems to be more about the adaptation of your playstyle rather than any RPG element. With this sort of reasoning Halo is an RPG because you decide to snipe from a distance rather than rush in guns blazing.
Role Playing Game, i'm playing the role I wish to play. Is their another definition of RPG?
Role Playing Game, i'm playing the role I wish to play. Is their another definition of RPG?
Really? Cos the only character role possible in this game is that of the concerned parent who's trying to find their child; a goody-two shoes who literally can't say no to anyone. I wanted to roleplay as a drug-fueled Billy Mays who sells products using his trusty junk jet, but that can't be achieved without the above bs
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CWIsoigU8AAgdpg.jpg:large[/t][t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CWFqm4lUYAAH34M.jpg:large[/t] The wait for this is killing me :speedfap:
I can't seem to get Gloves of the Commonwealth to work, together with Armorsmith Extended and Crafting Benches. Gonna try another patch file, but anyone care to point out what I'm missing, if someone knows straight off the bat?
Really? Although i'm happy with the predetermined parameters. I have accepted them. For gods sakes I even kept the wedding rings and made a small grave for shaun because I assumed he was eaten by raiders.
Armor Extended patch that is, I already had Crafting Benches patch and I thought it would be sufficient, but lets see....
I just slaughtered everyone at the corvega factory with just the switchblade.
Guys please stop trying to make excuses for the lacking rpg elements, if you prefer simpler shooter game-play over complex in-depth rpg elements that's fine, but stop doing mental gymnastics and saying stuff like "the amazing rpg elements are present in the fact you can choose to shoot the raider, or stab the raider!!!! this is objectively amazing". The rpg stuff is about on par with the borderlands series and that's only if you take perks like wasteland whisperer to give you some form of action skill- and that's okay i guess but it's not incredible so let's not pretend it is. the real strengths of fallout 4 are the combat, the power armor system and the artstyle so if you want to sing it's praises, at least praise the stuff they actually did well.

I keep forgetting you can search for item IDs with the console. At least that fixed my [sp]USS Constitution[/sp] quest bug. I loved the ending of the quest, but now I wish the [sp] Lieutenant's Hat color palette matched the Vault suit's. [/sp]
You don't need Gloves of the Commonwealth with Armorsmith Extended, the latest version of AE already includes its own version of the gloves, but has support to work with all the AE stuff.
Yeah it appears so.. But I went on and already downloaded myself Gloves of the Commonwealth + AE patch. Also, false alarm, I was trying to equip gloves on outfits that already had gloves, thinking I could replace the gloves, but nope. Just tested it on gloveless outfit and it just werked. So it's working after all, also are you saying I don't need GotC at all? Like, with AE alone, I can craft all of the gloves that GotC includes..

Using the new crafting station that comes with AE, you can craft a number of custom items, including the gloves. They're named differently, and they might have different stats than in GotC (though I haven't looked), but they all look and work the same way as in GotC.
Role Playing Game, i'm playing the role I wish to play. Is their another definition of RPG?
With that logic, every game is a role playing game. In Halo you roleplay as a space marine. That is technically true, but RPGs exist as a separate genre for good reason. It's about character customization and creation. It's about taking a template, and making someone truly unique to every player. RPG gameplay should emphasize the development of the character's strengths and weaknesses. A unique combination of flaws and strengths can make any character interesting. Particularity is absolutely important in this respect. RPG story should serve the purpose of developing personality and ideals of the character further by putting them through various trials and ordeals. Would your character do this or that? Would they negotiate or shoot to kill? As that one Fallout 1 ad said, Will your character stand up to the post-nuclear test?Choice and the expression of your character's attributes are absolutely important in this respect. It is important that the strengths and weaknesses you have given your character have some sort of effect on the world they inhabit beyond how fast they can kill something. I meant for this post to be longer, but I'm just gonna put down what I got.
I know it's subtle, but I really liked the bit in the Nick Valentine companion quest where [sp]you hand in all 10 of the tapes, and he processes them by making some whirring noises, and it just pans to your character not saying anything like- "...really, Nick?"[/sp]

Also, it would appear that both Armorsmith Extended and Crafting Benches allows the crafting of same gloves, but with some different names. So, while GotC truly appears to be redundant, Armorsmith Extended AND Crafting Benches mods both give you a crafting station to use for crafting gloves.. all of them, at least the same amount of options (16) :v: [editline]14th December 2015[/editline] But I suppose having GotC doesn't hurt... a lot... Oh well. Who wants to make a mod that allows Codsworth to wear more hats than just the Baller Hat? Maybe Spiked Armor too.
Ehh, while I don't get to go anywhere near space, or fight in space, Fallout 4 is THE space marine simulator. It's like a god-send gift to me after playing "WH40K: Space Marine" just recently before FO4 came out. *Power Armor walking sounds*
what ever happened to this thing [t]http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/6/69/Art_of_Fo4_NukaCola_Fridge_concept_art.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20151029192009[/t] the ray gun was on a ton of their promotional stuff

I personally have not tried to experience the game as anything outside of an hyper efficient slayer of advisaries. Although maybe if I had a different approach at the game I might've been upset.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/FTSlXrs.jpg[/t] I did a good :downs:
I liked the parenthood parallels that quest had to the main story

I thought that was just a glitch. That being said, when the conversations glitch it's hilarious. More than once the camera would shift to my character after the NPC finished talking and he would just stare at them with this stupid grin on his face for about 10 seconds.
Great explanation. I personally have not tried to experience the game as anything outside of an hyper efficient slayer of advisaries. Indeed, I have heard from some people that the game is much more enjoyable when you look at it as a shooter with RPG aspects rather than as an RPG with shooter aspects. That may be true, but the Fallout series has been rooted as an RPG first, and so it's easy to understand why many are disappointed with FO4.

Every paladin is trained to get a perfect score on insane difficulty, in case they have to do a dance off against wastelanders.
I like the way the camera turns when NPCs walk past you mid-conversation. Too bad it's usually when they're asking you to save their kidnapped friend rather than when they're trying to intimidate you.
I'd like if an alternate intimidation option was available where you basically pull out your gun but chance getting into a firefight...DEPENDING ON YOUR CHARISMA!!111 (Nah depending on Strength or something better)
I'm just disappointed that, for all the small conversations you'd easily miss if you go in guns blazing, the 'talk' option just threatens intimidated enemies.
Is paladin danse supposed to be walking around naked during blind betrayal? :| I guess I might have swiped his bos uniform and he never bothered to put anything else on
Bartering in Fallout 1 is annoying, my Charisma and Barter are fairly high but people still won't sell stuff to me for cheaper. :scream:
