I finally had a "Help Defend [settlement]" happen where the settlement actually needed my help. Seven Super Mutant Primus(es?, Primii?) at Nordhagen Beach, with only three settlers there.
Oh so I'm not the only one that keeps having that problem. "Defend your settlement!" and it's not even being attacked. I had one moment where it actually was being attacked (Abernathy Farm) and it was 2 suiciders, a primus and a couple of weakling Super Mutants.
Also apparently Power Armors can have different heights? Or maybe it's just like that for NPCs so the player feels more important.
This is the mod in question; It's made by the RobCo Certified guy. It's more fleshed out in terms of settlement protection. It also has a compatibility patch for this mod, which is great because this one includes buildable followers.
I can't wait until RobCo comes along and makes it so I can craft Mr. Handy's or Gen 1-2 Synths for settlers and be the ultimate evil scientist recluse with all my settlements made of robots.
Is there any sort of information ingame on what even happened to the lone wanderer during the events of FO4?
I'm sure this has been mentioned but does anyone else find Piper's appearance eerily similar to the default wife's appearance? That's got to be on purpose for some meta reason, right? [editline]15th December 2015[/editline]
Is there any sort of information ingame on what even happened to the lone wanderer during the events of FO4?
Apart from references to the Capital Wasteland and other Fallouts (except for NV), I haven't heard anything specific.
Is there any sort of information ingame on what even happened to the lone wanderer during the events of FO4?
he's totally cruising through space right now on zeta fuck that wasteland shit
What the fuck? A deathclaw grabbed me and bugged the fuck out and got launched 200 feet in the air WITH ME STILL IN HIS GRIP. I slammed back onto the ground and died. I got dunked on, fuck.
It's really kind of annoying you have to go to them at all, the brotherhood can break institute security themselves, it only served to force me to at least talk to them before I [sp]wiped them out[/sp] [editline]15th December 2015[/editline] Woops quoted the wrong post
I kinda wish when you wore power armor a certain number of pieces have to fall off in order for you to die. Getting killed in full power armor feels really dumb and underwhelming.
While I like the idea, it would mean that the armour itself would have to be weaker or take all incoming damage and constantly break, which I think would be annoying to deal with.
Am I the only one that thinks FO4 is a good game?
Well, it's better than Fallout 3. Good game, meh RPG. Basically a bigger better Fallout 3, for what that's worth. The issue for me is that it still bundles in a lot of Fallout 3's problems, in new and annoying flavors. Still though, played it thoroughly, and it stands well on it's core gameplay even if it's a varingly poopy RPG. I'd go as far to say that even though it's a mediocre RPG just due to the art style and difficulty of the game if feels a lot more "fallout-ish" to me than Fallout 3 does. Just needs more RPG to go along with the art and brutality...
Getting the grand slam with this while in VATS is just fun. [img_thumb]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/403434072395909683/C514A2239A362D663C594135CC105395097D3B03/[/img_thumb]
The new ferals look disgusting I like them way more tbh
The new ghouls looks like something that would fit better in an Elder Scrolls game.
I think the "claws" are just un-cut fingernails I like the putrid and diseased look of the new ones. It's really not classic by any stretch but I suppose it's a more "plausible" look to the ferals. Like a necrosis-ridden radiation burn victim who spent variably 50-200 years wallowing in murky filth. The yellow eyes are downright weird and out of place, though.
The ability to pacify is so OP. Just about everything I point my gun at I can tell it to fuck off and attack its buddies, or just chill. Its so weird just walking past some ferals.
[t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/395552769156259667/349C9A56262FE5247B4D4DD844A0D5061DB936B6/[/t] I'm not sure if I should, I like having a non-devoured soul.
The resemblance is uncanny.
The ability to pacify is so OP. Just about everything I point my gun at I can tell it to fuck off and attack its buddies, or just chill. Its so weird just walking past some ferals.
It never works for me.
I think I would like it better if weapon damage was only affected by the type of ammo, at least for guns. There's no reason a .45 SMG does less than half the damage of a .45 rifle. It would be better IMO if the only things that perks changed was things like reload speed, accuracy, recoil etc.
Seriously, why the hell was the ammunition system from NV not in this. Higher grade ammunition is literally 100% better than magical damage improving recievers and random enchantments, both lore and gameplay wise.
I think the feral ghouls would look pretty great if they were just emaciated instead of being oddly chubby. Then again, it seems Bethesda have retconned a lot of the old design of Fallout 3, which to me is kind of a shame, but it's not really much different from the artsyle changes from 1 and 2 -> 3.
Oh my god the VATS makes me want to kick puppies. I have those 3 ghouls charging at me and they're like 20 feet away from my position. I pull out my combat rifle, go into VATS and take a shot on their torsos (95% on each, maxed out perception and agility, a single shot kills them). I miss the first ghoul. Instead of shooting the next target immadiately, my character decides to stare at the ghoul she missed, giving time for the 2nd one to hit me before I shoot it. Now my character stares at the ghoul she just killed, giving time for the 3rd ghoul to hide behind a pillar and for the 1st ghoul to hit me.
Catmeat, ho haha
Seriously, why the hell was the ammunition system from NV not in this. Higher grade ammunition is literally 100% better than magical damage improving recievers and random enchantments, both lore and gameplay wise.
Different ammo capacities for the weapons could even be part of the mods system, both in a serious, limited way or in a "hell just have some fun" way where you could mod a pistol to use .50MG explosive rounds But hey, can't use ANYTHING from New Vegas, regardless if they were improvements or not. No companion wheel, no hardcore mode, no ammo system, no sensible gameplay improvements added by the previous non-bethesda game in the East Coast !
The only parts of the New Vegas ammo system I liked was all those special rounds you got from GRA, like the pulse slugs and dragon's breath and explosive .50s and that. I get there is a certain charm to crafting your own ammo, but I just couldn't be bothered with it. Felt like far too much pissing around with lead and primers and whatever. What I did not like whatsoever was the amount of absolute pointlessness in the ammo system. Notably was the .223 cartridge and the .38 Special. Both were pointless as hell. .223 especially since performance was almost exact to 5.56, why did it need to be in the game? .38 Special too, this didn't need to be in the game. There's even a .44 special, which you barely see. Then there was also the hand-loader perk that specially crafted all these ammo types with acronyms like SWC and JHP and JSP. Was there seriously a point in taking apart all your bullets so you could put them back together slightly better? Every single time you got more bullets? It was something you could tell was put in there pretty much to appease some of the main writers who were gun nuts.

And JSP was so much better than default ammo, it wasn't even funny. Specially with all the gun perks that used multipliers over your raw gun damage. If you can scrape 5 bullets to make one that can one shot the enemy instead of shooting it 10 times, you do it. 308 JSP made your sniper and hunting rifles useful again after you had the antimateriel rifle Every single time you got more bullets? You were not supposed to go back to a reloading bench every time you know. You made your batches of special ammunition in your house, before venturing to places. I liked it, gave me some sort of silly immersion where i had all these steps of preparation before venturing into a quest. And if you have ED-E you can literally make special ammunition on the fly if that's whats bothering you anyway You didn't liked the ammo management stuff and that's fine. It's not for everyone. But saying no one else enjoyed it and it had no purpose is just wrong. Specially when you're not sure about the different ammo types like you said (which is not your fault - there's no real explanation about all the different ammo types anywhere in the wasteland)
Yes? And JHP was so much better than default ammo, it wasn't even funny. The rest of the hand-loaded stuff was like that as well. 20-30% more damage and perhaps some -DT. It did not make you do ten times more damage. The math would be that 3 shots do about the damage as 4, but most combat encounters are about fighting many enemies that don't have much health individually, and even if they don't, it's not a big deal to just put more rounds in them. For really big enemies, you'd use something like a missile launcher or the explosive .50 rounds I mentioned earlier. If I had to guess, I think the point of the hand-loader perk was for hardcore mode players who needed to reduce the weight of rounds they were carrying. The only non-fancy special bullets I felt were ever worth anything were the armour piercing ones, but they had a problem of basically being a direct upgrade to the standard bullets. 95% of the damage done, yet you ignore 15 DT, so basically you do way more damage in just about every scenario.
.308 JHP was literally just 30% more damage
This 30% extra damage turns into a lot when you have gun perks you know
Robotics expert doesn't seem to have much use beyond a novelty, and it really requires stealth skills to be fully useful. Hacked a gunner assaultron dominator and it just refused to attack any targets but gunner enemies (ie: all my freinds) what is the point of hacking if you cant command the robot to do anything useful at all? It just follows you and kills friendlies. Guess I might just need to stash dangerous robots in an isolated spot and only bring them into hostile places
This 30% extra damage turns into a lot when you have gun perks you know
Or you could just take psycho and have 25% increased damage applied to everything you do.
so one of my friends is working on some skillbooks to add the Confirmed Bachelor/Cherchez La Femme perks back in :v:
