[sp]Kellog didn't take the boy to diamond city 50 years ago. He took the synth boy there quite recently, the same one you meet when you first enter the institute[/sp]
Honestly I have no idea how people keep missing that.
Also memory isn't an issue for Kelogg. He has a [sp]cybernetic implant right where his memories are stored[/sp]. That part of the plot made the most sense, in my opinion. There also seems to be a lot of cut content around those parts of the plot, so...
I decided to dress up Hancock. I gave him a black coat, a black suit, and a formal hat. Now he almost looks like someone familiar. [T]http://i.imgur.com/fBhDDe1.png[/T] [sp]Such a lust for revenge? WHOOOOOOOOOOOO?[/sp]
Would the RPG elements be improved if an alternate start mod was made and removed all references to your husband/wife and Shaun? The references don't happen that often outside the [sp]Institute[/sp] so there shouldn't be that many lines to remove.
Honestly I have no idea how people keep missing that.
its really easy to miss but x-w/e tells him they have to go secure the military base which is why he's taking [sp] the boy[/sp], so kellog was only gone a few months, i can't imagine in diamond city that houses stay vacant for long [editline]16th December 2015[/editline]
So, sometimes random textures become corrupted until I restart the game. I think I have to agree with the idea that Bethesda's focus was off for some fairly important aspects of the game. I'd like to say that it's patently obvious that they tried to make the best game they could, and the decisions they made were ones they thought were right. I happen to vehemently disagree with a fair few of them (conversation, main plot [as far as I've got with it] and faction simplicity), but I can respect that they considered it for the best. Bear in mind that I don't consider that a defense of the decisions; in my mind they were bloody stupid, but hey - there's not much use crying over spilled milk. All these opinions have been made very clear across most of the internet, and it's not possible that Bethesda hasn't seen them. They have at least once attempted to fix concerns with their DLC, and while again not a defense (considering buying things to fix stuff you don't like is naff), should at least provide some degree of hope to those who found things incredibly disappointing.
while the DLCs are far off on the horizon, i wonder if beth doesn't make some of the DLCs actual areas on the map
Is it that mod I've heard about that lets you put coats over outfits ? Mind giving the link ?
while the DLCs are far off on the horizon, i wonder if beth doesn't make some of the DLCs actual areas on the map
I'm hoping we get an announcement soon or something.

It also tidies up the naming for the Jackets and Coats (so they mostly have names closer to the original items they come from), corrects the models and material swaps used, changes the stats so they match the original items, and fixes the Letterman's Jacket from crashing the game if you go over it quickly.
Decided to replay NV again I think. Time to go on the endless search for mods grind again.
Honestly I have no idea how people keep missing that.
Well I mostly missed it because [sp] the boy fizzles out and dies quite quickly when you meet it and does not seem ready to be functioning like it did in Kelloggs memories. Memories where you got quite a good look at Kellogg's character development as a kid, but learn absolutely nothing about the years and years of terrible work he did for the Institute apart from when he first meets them. It still doesn't explain why no one questions an unaging Kellogg who apparently was in Diamond City fairly recently. I guess all the memories could be just implanted or edited by the institute to keep you on track, but I'd bet on shoddy writing and hoping the vagueness passes for plot [/sp]
It's the potential of curating that I'm worried about. If we have to use Bethesda's own controlled marketplace, then you're going to be waving goodbye to lots of potential mods that won't meet their sterile and corporate content standards. Whether I like them or not, I'd rather have access to mod catalog with killable children and weird sex than one that doesn't. [editline]16th December 2015[/editline] And if cross-platform compatibility for mods is the goal as well, say goodbye to script extenders too.
Mods are going to be curated, because they have to in order to see any possiblity of being on consoles This doesn't mean you can't download or use uncurated mods. It's not like your game will magically lose the ability to use .esp plugin files you put in your data folder because it didn't come from ~bethesda.net~. Nexus and all that will still exist. This will likely just be an official channel to get "sanctioned" mods from that you know are going to work or hit some kind of quality bar. I'd much rather have a curated, official mod list than deal with the stupidity that is Workshop. Sure it's "modding for casuals", but quite frankly if you are a casual modder then a curated area to get your mods from is way better than the shitty half step workshop is, and it still doesn't stop you from going down the Nexus rabbit hole
Decided to replay NV again I think.
Building a sick ass raider camp with parties and looting sounds 100x better than being prestons bitch and having to deal with the fucking longs and mama murphy The minute men are a bunch of nerds I'd rather smash it up in the combat zone
Speaking of that, there are Super Mutant and Raider decorations in Homemaker mod. I gotta put them to some use!

Fallout is the serie where people don't make that many "good" mods, because it's not magic,it has to make some sense.
My hope is that Bethesda have learnt their lesson with the next game they make. Skyrim was a massive simplification of Oblivion, both in plot and in gameplay, to the extent where a lot of the fun was removed from the game (although it was still good to explore and it wasn't entirely soulless). Fallout 4 is a fuckton of fun, and it felt like they tried to add a lot of stuff to attempt to fix the somewhat barebones feel of Skyrim, but I feel they got the balance wrong and maybe focussed a bit too much in some areas and neglected some others. Even though the 'mods will fix it' thing isn't an excuse for the half-baked plot and the mediocre majority of characters (seriously though, whomever wrote Nick, Travis, and half of the other companions needs a fucking medal and should be the head writer), I'd rather have a decent game (and gameplay-wise, I think Fallout 4 is a very decent game, 8/10 honestly) which can become a fantastic 10/10 game or even an entirely new experience through modding than a game which is stuck at 9/10 forever because it's impossible/ too much effort to mod. [editline]16th December 2015[/editline] More than anything, I just want them to take their time. Most of us here love Bethesda games, we can wait an extra year or so for some more polishing.
What lesson? Bethesda reduced all of the quests down to violent fetch quests and earned nearly a bilion dollars for it. How do they have any incentive to do anything but continue their reductive trend?
What lesson? Bethesda reduced all of the quests down to violent fetch quests and earned nearly a bilion dollars for it. Good dialog. Depth to everything they made.

My ongoing quest to collect all the magazines is going strong. 16 hours in and I've collected 46 out of the 122 magazines in the game.

No one would be the wiser because no one cares for the random guy who lives alone and keeps to himself.[/sp]
who the fuck said raiders have to be "chaotic evil hurr durr kill everyone" With very few exceptions, raiders are just people who need food and shelter, and believe raiding is the best or only way they can get it. Honestly, Bethesda's insistance on having fucktons of "generic enemies" everywhere is just hugely annoying to me, in so many ways. You really don't need to be in combat all the time, fucks sake.
They have you in combat all the time because otherwise it would become starkly apparent to everyone how stripped down their games have become since Oblivion and F3 (And that latter one is dubious in its quality, but at least it put up a better pretense of being an RPG).
Sorry to spam thread but just noticed this got released yesterday, it's a functional elevator mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/6053/? looks really nice
I just wanted to point this out, there is now a wall-less version, so you can make the elevator shaft of whatever material you wish.
I just wanted to point this out, there is now a wall-less version, so you can make the elevator shaft of whatever material you wish.
i wonder if someone could unlock it so we can make shelf elevator, drawer elevator,or even stimpack elevator but i think it's too small.

I've been playing this game for around 35 hours and I haven't been to Diamond City. Its fun to explore, get loot and make better weapons but I still dont like the lack of choices/branching in the dialogue.
