I love the world series bat.
Instantly ended a rooftop deathclaw encounter by flinging it across to some scaffolding on the other side and watching it hit beam after beam as it fell in the most comical manner possible :v:

Stick a quad barrel on that shit ASAP. Enjoy 5-shot damage for 20% less ammo.

i did yesterday, took swan out with it
I just think the ability to turn the plasma frame into a flamethrower is cool. More weapon mods like that (which allow you to use certain weapon types with certain perks you wouldn't be able to otherwise) would be amazing.
Adding a "negative induction" barrel to a laser weapon to give it short-range freeze damage, for instance.
I think the bat should have had more high-level modifications. I think it would have served great as a weapon that could last you the entire playthrough if you continually upgraded it.
That, and the saw-blades modification doesn't make sense. Would that even be effective?
It's a shame only the plasma gun can be turned into every single type of weapon.
When I first saw the short hunting rifle I got hyped because I thought it would actually be a one handed bolt action pistol, which at the very least would have been original - kind of like a modernized flintlock pistol.
The fact one handed pistols are held with two hands is also a a letdown because it makes the difference between pistols and rifles all the more difficult to notice.
I wish the plasma rifle had an intermediate barrel between Sniper and Short that looked like the old plasma rifle barrel.
Also a smaller, pistol-centric receiver. As much as I like the whole "pistol the size of my head thing" when I'm running around in power armor, it looks goofy otherwise.

That's how you hold a pistol.
Personally I'm disappointed there isn't a really shitty flintlock rifle or musket in the game as a joke weapon. Make it like a stronger BB Gun but with no crit damage bonus.
I found a two shot combat shotgun with the potential to do 340 damage per shot.
The main drawback?
I can't get it above 1 accuracy :v: Even ADS the spread is fucking nuts.

Pistols are held with one hand while using power armor and it looks a lot better than holding it with two hands.
I'd like it a lot more if it was held with one hand unless when aiming at which point the second hand is used, like in 3 and New Vegas. One handed pistols in 1 and 2 were also one handed exclusively, it made them more distinct from a gameplay standpoint and a lot more readable in combat.
can we talk about AI molotov spam
Does Bunker Hill hate MacCready? They went hostile on me and I did nothing to them.

Right now it is a mix. But manly with the Minutemen.
Somethings wrong with my Sanctuary. I spent like 5 hours building walls and defenses and now whenever I go there my game crashes. Sometimes instantly, sometimes a few minutes after walking around. Really sucks because I store all my items there :(
I've tried verifying game cache, updating to beta version, updating nvidia drivers, disabling all mods, etc. Everywhere else in the game works fine it's just Sancturay.
No error messages...just a CTD. Anyone know what could be causing this?

it would look absolutely ridiculous if the player character held pistols like they do in power armor all the time
i understand where you're coming from but in a 3d game space the amount of "readability" you get from NPCs using pistols one handed isn't really the same as you would get from older games, what with your view angle radically different and all that. it's not a worthwhile trade off to make all your characters look like incompetent assholes when they use pistols
your whole complaint about pistols needing to be one handed to make them look different from two handed rifles is insane though. nearly no one can identify the difference between a combat shotgun or a combat rifle visually, like most other weapons most players either don't care or will make an assumption based on other evidence - how they hold the gun has nothing to do with it.

yeah you can do them and the game will clearly tell you when doing a certain part of a quest will piss off other factions.

as far as im aware bethseda's allowed you to join up to every faction for just enough time to do every piece of major content with them, before locking you out at the very end. as clarkwashere said you'll get a very clear message before you lock one in.

Maybe because power armor can take the recoil of a gun better than your own hand? Use your brain next time.
So someone on reddit just pointed out that Elliot Tercorien (the soldier from Mothership Zeta) and Nate were in the same battalion (108th Infantry) and served at the same time.
I wonder if they planned that all along. Two soldiers, both frozen for 200 years, who then use cryo weaponry.

if we ever get mothership zeta 2 dlc we better get a reference to this
even if we don't get a mothership zeta 2 dlc i still want this to be referenced somehow
Hell, just make an Elliot Tecorion companion mod and have a bit of backstory like "the ship dropped him off in the common wealth or something."
I'm willing to bet we'll get these four pieces of DLC, in order:
1. Settlement update akin to Hearthfire, significantly revamped building system, many more items and features available, and several new locations become eligible.
2. Mid-game side story taking place in another relevant locale nearby, presenting the player with a huge benefit for completing it which trivializes the MQ.
3. Another mid-game side story taking place in another relevant locale nearby, presenting the player with a huge benefit for completing it which trivializes the MQ.
4. More aliens, possibly a post-game alien invasion story arc. (Maybe the synths attracted their attention?)
And maybe an optional weapons/mods pack ala Gun Runners Arsenal
So I killed a random Legendary Glowing One in the middle of a river near the Ticonderoga building (it was standing on a floating piece of debris with a radioactive barrel next to it). Suddenly the Railroad became hostile and all of my quests regarding them failed.
??????????
What the fuck just happened.
I reloaded the save and it happened again after killing this glowing one. Is he a fucking tourist for the railroad or something? The hell is going on. Had to reload a save 20 minutes ago to avoid that situation again.

As far as I'm aware, holding a pistol with two hands was just starting to be "in vogue" in the late 1950s. Thematically, holding them with one hand fits. Whether raiders and wastelanders would stick to a 200+ year old tradition that isn't very effective in practice is a different story.
