gamebryo doesn't really have decent/interesting ai, so that's the best they can do, really.
Not to mention it's kind of a problem with the power scaling in Fallout games past 2. You can't exactly make normal humanoid enemies 10,000HP sponges, but the player has immensely powerful weapons which can sometimes instakill humans. What I'd rather see is those bosses get a really strong unique weapon that can blitz you very quickly if you're not tactical. Both of you are trying to get the two or three hits needed to kill the other, so it's almost like player versus player.
Fuck Edit: Well, there's always modding I suppose :(
Buuuut, you can do slightly more than most of the other factions ending content allows in the respects that you can replace the Head of the SRB with someone else who might actually start to see the light in regards to Synth kind. Other than that though, end game faction content is fucking crap, everything will stay the same for all factions, it's like you never accomplished anything really.
So I have some questions about the main quest, gonna tag just in case. [sp]I'm almost at the part where you build the teleporter, I assume you can only build it at one of the three faction settlements, depending on which faction you choose to go it with? And you can only build it once?[/sp]

Just out of curiosity how many of you persevered with the brotherhood of steel storyline?[sp] I'm at the stage where I've built the teleporter[/sp]... warning spoilers ahead, definately maybe near end game spoilers. [sp] To be completely honest at first when I met the brotherhood of steel I thought they were pretty damn awesome but the more quests I've done for them the more bullshit I found them, which is making me think ah fuck it, join the institute and wipe them all out. I've never been interested in the railroad or minutemen (The settlement building was a nice idea but it wasn't for me.) My main reason for heading into the institute was to save Virgil and get him the serum. I know it sounds stupid but he seemed to have a pretty fleshed out storyline which I found interesting, and that was my reasoning to save him. Then I read up that the BoS wants to kill Virgil. It just seems like the BoS are complete asshats. I mean I fucking laughed my ass off when Elder Maxson gave me vertibird flares but said they weren't able to help in a fight and they are a vital asset. Only to see later on these vertibirds fucking crash and explode over towns. Slightly off topic, I was wondering if anyone else had this thought. In Virgil's old lab at the institute there were two holotapes, one which described his reasoning to destroy the FEV program and another, which sadly I forget what it said, they were looking for other subjects. I genuinely thought for a moment that was why the baby was taken so that they could find a cure for the FEV or even worse use his DNA to further the program. [/sp]
Defense needs to be water+food, so you need 46 defense in that settlement Power does not factor with happiness, defense does But aside from that your happiness will cap at around 75-80 until you build some stores. Happiness might still have the red arrow like it's decreasing from time to time but it's not really decreasing
The defense from what I can tell seems to only require meeting the value of the highest resource of that settlement. I get to 80 happiness easily by matching it to my water resource's value (400). I don't have stores yet however.
So on the topic of skill checks, I feel like a much better system would be to ditch the % based system and instead use a perk system. Maybe a perk called persuasion would open up new dialogue choices that could convince NPCs to do different things. Rank one would be the simple things like convincing them to pay you more, while the highest rank would be outright being able to convince NPCs to not fight you and give you information. Also, I am really frustrated how Bethesda insists on littering their game with generic "evil dudez" that just attack the PC on sight. Raiders should at least try and rob you first before going hostile, and Gunners shouldn't be hostile unless you wander onto one of their bases. But instead we get Fallout 4, which like every Bethesda game is brimming with potential but utilizes none of it. It's not bad, but it could be so much greater with just a little more effort. It's no wonder they lost to the Witcher 3.
i'm not a fantastic concept artist so bear with me since an actual Space Marine armor mod is an inevitability, i'm going to take my version a step further and add a touch of Fallout art style to the design i didn't have a proportion reference handy, so all that will be tweaked when i get to actually make the thing. planning to do this as soon as i get my claws on the game. i'll probably make a few different helmets - the MK6 "Beakie" is a must

I'm addicted to Jet but my character isn't
effgfgf the latest update broke my plugins, i can't open the load order thing from the launcher and mods that used .esps straight up broke

I wish there were more Fallout spinoff games to expand on the universe a bit. I love the Fallout universe so much, but theres still so much we don't know about the situation in the rest of the U.S and beyond. We need a new Fallout bible or something.
a while back I got a Gamma Gun that does %50 more damage to Humans just now realizing how great it is
Why the fuck can't you forge formal alliances between the Minutemen and other factions? You're the goddamn General.
Why the fuck can't you forge formal alliances between the Minutemen and other factions? You're the goddamn General.
Technically you can if you go with the Institute, you control both organisations by that point.
Why the fuck can't you forge formal alliances between the Minutemen and other factions? You're the goddamn General.
You're a general ordered around by some dressed up clown. Never understood what's up with Bethesda and making player's character the king-general leader man, the most important person in every faction they ever join.
You're a general ordered around by some dressed up clown.
Isn't that the opposite of what you are in the Minutemen though? :v: Preston is the King-General Leader man, you are his pawn.
Yeah, I should've worded it better. You're the most important person dude in every faction you ever join - in name only, actually you're handling all of the menial labour.
Isn't that the opposite of what you are in the Minutemen though? :v: Preston is the King-General Leader man, you are his pawn.
I must have misunderstood him when he said, "You're the new General of the minutemen now, I'm not cut out to be the leader" when I asked him why he couldn't do it. Preston just tells you where shit's fucked and that you should go fix it, since you have the power armor and can singlehandedly kill deathclaws in it (as the beginning of the game proved.)

He controls you and orders you around, you don't control him, nor do you actually control the organisation in any real fashion, you aren't really the "general" you don't have any real power.
The Artifact Gun is great for dealing with Mirelurks.
Can't you have him as a follower and tell him to blindly go attack deathclaws?
Yes but you still aren't in control of the Minutemen and either way he can't actually die, since he's got to supply you with those shitty ass Minutemen radient quests. That's not real power, that's not real control, that's just Bethesda's companion directions system letting you do whatever.
Did you know if you kill [sp]Father[/sp] and then at the end fight [sp]Institute[/sp] there will be another [sp]Father[/sp]. What does it mean?
Did you know if you kill [sp]Father[/sp] and then at the end fight [sp]Institute[/sp] there will be another [sp]Father[/sp]. What does it mean?
Weird, that never happened to me in my BoS playthrough when I shot father. Must be bugged.
He controls you and orders you around, you don't control him, nor do you actually control the organisation in any real fashion, you aren't really the "general" you don't have any real power.
This is what I hate the most about the game. By the time I finished, I was hoping to be treated like a leader, but nope, I'm still just a little fuckboy polishing Elder Maxson's power armor.
Perhaps in the 23rd Century, the rank of General is believed to be that of the top Soldier. The one who could most efficiently lead a team of boots on the ground. I know I'm just trying to explain bullshit but it's possible, when you consider some of the other dumbass misconceptions of the old world.
