Vault 34 was an armory vault by design. All the equipment inside was top notch It was later replaced as best armor by.... sierra madre stuff, which is also top notch stuff bought by Sinclair. I don't get what bothers you.
I didn't say it did.. I pointed out a design decision that seemed to take two different extremes. The Sierra Madre stuff makes sense, though. Sinclair emptied his pockets making sure the Sierra Madre was the most extravagant it could be. Speaking of armour, I do miss the veteran combat armour. It's pretty poignant that it was envisioned as this badass trenchcoat and ballistic vest thing but because the FO3 engine didn't allow for any sort of flow in clothing, it was just this unnatural static object that stuck out. The more I think about it how amazing New Vegas would be on the much improved mechanics of 4, the more I wish and wish for Obsidian to make a new Fallout.
Molecular Level spoilers: [sp]That teleporter looks so cool. I wish you could build more than just the one, even if only for decoration. It would be cool to be able to set up teleport waypoints, but would be kind of pointless with fast travel.[/sp]
You can
Is there an actual grenade launcher in this game? I've not stumbled upon the Junk Jet yet, but does that allow you to fire grenades or is it just 'junk'?
Vault 34 had so many dangerous explosives and explosive weapons, it kinda makes sense for the guard armor to be really strong or it wouldn't be effective at all as a security measure.
It's not like the other vaults didn't have guns, and besides, the kind of armour the Vault 34 armour is, it wouldn't help against explosives. There's a reason bomb defusal armour looks like it does.
Is there an actual grenade launcher in this game? I'm just disappointed that, as far as I know, there aren't any special melee kill animations for deathclaws/behemoths like there are for dragons in Skyrim.
Robots are weak in the torso and combat inhibitor (which is located on the back), shooting them in the head does nothing.
Doesn't it depend on the kind of robot? That works for assaultrons, but for things like protectrons, it is best to shoot them in the arms because they'll blow up if both arms are crippled.
and besides, the kind of armour the Vault 34 armour is, it wouldn't help against explosives. There's a reason bomb defusal armour looks like it does.
Talking about the DT. If it were supposed to be realistic no armor would help against explosives but power armor, to be honest. And the other vaults had guns, but not enough guns and ammo for every vault dweller to be armed to the teeth and some more for the years to come, that was kinda the purpose of vault 34 after all.

Once we get the official modding tools, it probably wouldn't be hard to create a proper grenade launcher based off of how it's set up, though.

Few weeks in and modders are going absolutely ham on the game. It's ridiculous and beautiful... ...and awful for Bethesda because it only shows how lazy they got with some parts of the game.

I'd like to be able to pull out a nade launcher and fire 4 or 5 grenades rapidly at enemies. Or the very least, we should be able to craft a 'poor-mans grenade launcher'... Are you supposed to be able to fade the face grime? Every time I edit a face and try to add some full face grime then fade it nothing happens, can you actually do that or is that button literally useless The grime at 100% opacity looks stupid

Every time I edit a face and try to add some full face grime then fade it nothing happens, can you actually do that or is that button literally useless The grime at 100% opacity looks stupid
You can't do it by default, though I've made a small mod that replaces one of the random face blemishes with a grime texture, so you can fade it how you want. I can upload it if you want.
...and awful for Bethesda because it only shows how lazy they got with some parts of the game.
Not really, they've being doing this for some time now and people always excuse them anyway. So much that "being easy to mod" is the first bethesda trait that comes to mind for people over anything they actually do in the game itself.

Imagine an all-American T-51b, super sledge held high, a deathclaw limping underneath the steel titan's feet. Twice the hammer falls, twice an arm is severed, and so the deathclaw crawls not. On the third the armoured war machine shouts, and severs for itself a glorious trophy. [editline]edit[/editline] Or just a money shot with a Fat Man, right down the gullet.

For Gen 1 & 2 Synths I'd say the weak point is the right arm. Shoot that off, and they're left without a weapon.
Can you send companions to Home Plate if you own it?
For Gen 1 & 2 Synths I'd say the weak point is the right arm. Shoot that off, and they're left without a weapon.
They still melee.
They still melee.
Their one-arm punches don't do that much harm though. More of a nuisance than anything else.
Dunno if anyone has posted this yet. ZephyrWarrior's F4 Power Armor Overhaul http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4415/? 0.6.0 is currently being uploaded, adds a ton of new modifications and slots to the PA's, also includes new skins and so forth, basically I just feel like it adds to the game what PA's should have had in the first place. :v:
I really hope Bethesda bring out a quality-of-life patch or DLC for settlement building. It's pretty good, especially considering it's basically an optional feature, but it has some fairly glaring omissions. I'd prefer a patch, but if there's a DLC and it had better come with a fair amount of new stuff (I mean assets which weren't originally in the game). I wouldn't mind something like Paradox's system where the improvements and changes are free, but any new features or content are paid-for.
