How do I check what patch I'm on?
Did anyone else try to recreate Albert Cole or Natalia Dubrovhsky from Fallout 1 in the new creation system?

Lower right of the settings menu on the main menu.
Well since trying to make Sanctuary into a cheap knock off of the institute caused me to crash if I got anywhere near Sanctuary, I decided to just make my house instutute themed.

What are you using for that building? I have SSEx and Homemaker but I don't have that anywhere in my categories.
Wow nevermind I didn't realize there was an optional file for institute shit if you're not in the institute.

My melee warrior man. I really want to replace the hat with a proper warrior helmet, but the metal helmet is stupid looking and the others are too space-y. Do any of the upgrades for the helmet add like cheek guards or anything to make it cooler?

lol I just noticed the exposed navel, top tier protection.

What about the helmets the Diamond City guards wear?
What about the helmets the Diamond City guards wear?
If they had open faces it'd be cool. There was a mod for skyrim that removed the masks from them and maybe one will do that soon.
flight helmet?
Hear some gunfire in the distance, head towards it hoping to reap some dead people stuff
arrive just in time to see a verty-birdy explode.

wat
I'm so glad I got the PC version.
Without console commands I wouldn't be able to have half as much fun, procuring supplies and outfits for my settlements and settlers.
Right now I'm on a Minuteman playthrough with army fatigues and such, but eventually I want to do a BoS and Diamond City uniform playthrough for my guards and such. Wouldn't be possible otherwise.

BIG MOUNTAIN!
LONG HAVE THEY WATCHED!
'You will not survive my deadly robot scorpions, technological terrors and er... their bigger more atomic versions of these things... uh, Goodbye' - Dr Mobious
If that doesn't instill you with confidence nothing will
Man the Here There Be Monsters side quest really makes me want to see a Fallout game set in commie land.
I started building a full fledged research facility in the island, in case we have a "threat from outer space, or something". We will become the new institute in time.
Doors to some super secret research.

Classic fallout.
Speaking of creepy things, early in the game when super mutants are still a huge threat, there was nothing more tense than walking through the wilderness and realizing you're surrounded by bloody meat trees.

I bet this was used during the nuke drop in the intro
Actually, the nuclear explosion was many npcs wearing segments of the explosion as a hat while floating in the air :v:

Mostly tense because you just know those meat bags have useful stuff just often enough that you have to search all of them.

omg the fucking bags of meat in fallout 4, they're everywhere. the super mutants just carry like hundreds of pounds of rendered people around wherever they go or something, i mean its perfectly horrible
In a battle for The Science, who would win? The institute, or big mt?
big MT, they have solid light holograms, the institute could send in all the synths they could, but holograms with laser eyes.....they just win
plus the MT was a bleeding edge military industrial research place, where as the institute was just a vault under CIT, sure they have deadly toys themselves, but not nearly to the same extent as the MT
Man, I'd totally forgot that holograms are pretty op in lore
Companion relationships are probably the absolute best thing about this game, I hope they get fleshed out a lot more in the DLC's
Can you really only get the perks from romancable companions by romancing them?
Man, I'd totally forgot that holograms are pretty op in lore
the MT has so many weapons too, they have securitrons both defective and effective, an army of lobotomies (who are as effective as gen 1,2 synths), robot scorpions, solid light barriers, and oh ya fucking cazadors, and they also have their own teleporter, so if the institute wanted to get into a teleporter fight, they'd just raise shields, release the lobotomies, and teleport in cazadors, lets see how well your organic based robots fare against cazadors
In a battle for The Science, who would win? The institute, or big mt?
Well the Institute's best weapons are the world's least-effective killer robots and [sp]hiding underground[/sp] so I'd put my money on literally any other faction that took them on.
Bethesda really needed to give them some sort of secret weapon that they could break out once the other factions start to be a legitimate threat, as it is they just sit back and calmly wait for you to kick down their door
Can you really only get the perks from romancable companions by romancing them?
No you just need to achieve maximium level of affinity
I just showed my friend the inside of the [sp] institute robotics lab where they make biological synths. It blew his fucking mind because he thought all synths were just metal clunkers up to then and was totally against the railroad.[/sp]
I'm pretty late, but I think that the nuke firing broadsider is used to (here there be monsters sidequest spoiler)[sp]fire the tactical missiles from Zhao's submarine, since the projectiles and function seem to be the same.[/sp]
Just curious, why do you hate AO? I absolutely love it.
I find it hard to see certain objects with Ambient Occlusion turned on. I prefer my games to be rather bright and avoid crushed blacks like the plague, so I disable AO by default on all my games to avoid that.
On certain games (not on Fallout 4 as far as I'm concerned) AO is also really poorly implemented and creates this annoying ghosting effect that irks me.
In a battle for The Science, who would win? The institute, or big mt?
definitely institute (story spoilers) [sp]they can just teleport infinite synths and coursers[/sp]
