Fallout V23: "I got another thread that needs your help."

Stealth works fine with no perks if you move slowly and stay out of sight, you just can be seen somewhat realistically so getting spotted is as easy as seeing enemies yourself. Of course the interiors were never resigned for stealth so staying behind cover is easier said than done.
I reloaded an earlier save like 3 times when I first did that mission because I thought it kept breaking, but nope that's just how it is.
That's exactly what I did. The conversation with [sp] the synth courser kept getting interrupted by a vertibird and he kept saying "plans have changed" and then exiting conversation. So I only got to say the first line and never saw the rest of that conversation. [/sp]
A+ Bethesda. Really glad you never playtested the main story.
Riot gear is literally the best looking piece of armor in the entire series imo.
I still feel like a version without its coat (power armor lite basically) would look even more badass, but maybe it's because the way I imagine it.
Anyone else still haven't made a new character yet?

About [sp]Bunker Hill Fight[/sp]
[sp]I was under the impression that all factions were supposed to be there, but the factions that you warn get a significant advantage during the fight.
I thought the Railroad was small, and short on Heavies- but there was a fuck-bunch of them with full Gauss rifles, and the BoS only had a couple Paladins at most in my fight.[/sp]

They don't stop spawning in either, so you can farm the fuck out of them.
Gauss Rifle ammo for days.
How easy is it to make models/textures and import them into Gamebryo's format? I experimented with doing L4D2 mods a few months back and the sheer number of steps you've gotta do kind of put me off it, is it better or worse for FO3/NV? Or potentially FO4?
at least for texture mods (or specifically right now, replacements) it's just a straight-forward conversion from and back to .DDS and you're good-to-go.
extracting the base files isn't difficult either. Just need BAE and some other program that searches for the texture you're looking for but I forgot it's name.

pretty much my skillset is low and I wouldn't be able to make mods if the process and workflow wasn't so simple already
I'm really sad about how that now I own just cause 3 I don't really feel the urge to play this anymore. I did bang out 103 hours since release which is fucking good, but now the main story is done I can't seem to bring myself to start another character. Maybe it's the Skyrim syndrome where you can't REALLY do any of the story differently to just straight up murdering people, didn't feel like on any occasion my charisma avoided someone's death or whatever.
Early morning rant, apologies :v:
I think my next run will be some Joker-related nonsense with lvl 1 Idiot Savant.

This is why around level 40-50 I have a mid-life crisis and realized I wasn't skilling properly in Charisma for a Charisma character, so I consoled out and subtracted points from Mysterious Stranger because it's buggy and doesn't work all the time, and then put those two into flat Charisma so I could start Intimidating people sooner.
That's where Charisma shines I think. Can pacify people, rob them, then blast them in the fucking face while they have their hands up like some brutal, charming, asshole.
And friendly Deathclaws never seem to get old.

It really says something when you jump from Fallout 4 to Just Cause 3 and don't realize many differences about your choices or the writing around you

Stealth is just as laughably broken and not working as it was in Skyrim. Enemies can hear you through walls despite making zero noise, sometimes spot you from an absurd distance, weight of armor doesn't seem to do jack shit in the field and this barely changes even few perks in. Then all of sudden with a single another point in stealth you become the ultimate stealth master who enemies are unable to see despite walking by you, INTO you and PUSHING you aside. Nope, just muh imeghination! Also getting caught during stealth in any other game with proper sneaking means you can usually start right over. In FO4 you just throw the stealth into trashcan and shoot everyone down no big deal, simply put, there's zero punishment.
I never expected Bethesda to deliver working stealth, I'm not that delusional, so I'm not that mad about it but as a huge stealth fan, someone saying the stealth mechanics in Fallout 4 are "realistic" gives me really awful taste in my mouth.
I wonder does anyone play the game with melee weapons with a rocket launcher / Fat man to occasionally join a tough fight?
I'm doing my second playthrough now, and basically I've been going down the road using a fully upgraded Super Sledge only.
Well talk about melee weapons, yeah I use em, especially in Power Armor (made this little webm for the Gneral Ingame Media, but here goes)

Now I do have 10 STR, 2 points in Standing Tree, 2 in Pain Train, etc., and that sword is the one you buy in Diamond City, fully modded that requires rank4 Science!
(I have a Legendary version of this same sword too with +25% damage that I found, stored at Workshop..)
Note I have a mod that boosts the player damage on Survival-difficulty from 0.5X (default) to 1.5X (modified) while the enemy damage remains unchanged at 2.0X.
[editline]11th December 2015[/editline]
As for Rocket Launcher, I've planned on getting one, maybe with the unending Legendary effect slapped on it, just single-barrel, then go crazy. (I have 4 pts in Basher too :v:)
Got bored and spruced up Vault 81's entrance a little.

Wait a minute, I just realized I can remove the Science! rank 4 required weapon mod from the sword I bought in Diamond City, and apply it to the Legendary sword (+25% dmg) I have stored...
why have i not done it yet
This game needs way harder enemies to kill to give me and my legendaries an actual challenge.
last behemoth I killed went down somewhere between 5 and 15 shots :/

You do know stealth games are incredibly unrealistic on purpose, right? If you tried to hide in shadow the way you do in Thief or Splinter Cell you'd be spotted immediately. Fallout 4 is realistic in the sense that if an enemy has an unobstructed view of you they can see you when you have no perks, it works fine. Weight absolutely does have an effect, you just won't see much of a difference between leather armour and combat armour because the weight difference isn't much, try sneaking with a missile launcher or a minigun equipped and you'll get spotted much more easily.
As for restarting if you're seen 1) git gud scrub, 2) stealth games are much better if you don't restart everytime you get spotted, 3) run away and come back later, it works in the good stealth games and it works here.
Personally I consider the different perk levels to be similar to difficulty levels in a stealth game, the lower your perk the higher the difficulty. I've sneaked through a number of raider camps with no sneak points on survival difficulty, it wasn't that hard.
Okay, NOW I've explored everything, and found a nice full set of T51 PA too. Upped the shit out of it. So now what do? I'm level 58. Any locations that spawn a lot of enemies? Maybe the entirety of the Glowing sea?

earlier I fought a legendary super mutant that took an entire 500 round clipazine from my minigun straight to the head at point blank range and then the loot he dropped was worth like half the amount I spent in bullets trying to kill that fucker

now you people might be wondering "oh mighty waterlord, the master of gaming the economy of a game like a fuckwit with purified water, how much electricity is needed to power this level of consumption?" a lot of power, lot of generators...

I found a Wounding Flamer. This is the End-game isn't it? Now I need an Instigating Gauss rifle and I'm all set. And a couple level-ups into Bloody mess for that sweet 15% extra damage.
So as I was completing Nick's companion questline, the game decided to start the UFO crash site random encounter.
So now I have a ufo crashed somewhere in the dead center of Boston, which equals to finding a needle in a haystack.
Well fuck you too game.

Does this crazy water rate affect how Raiders target your settlements?

but I just crafted a ridiculous amount of turrets and it almost never happens now
