He did have it actually show the mobile icon for a while but after an update to the chat page, that broke it and forced the web icon.
Its like valve purposely put a check or something after login because it does flash mobile then changes to web.

Whoa, I changed my Steam skin back to the default from Pressure. I never found anything better than the default but now I realize the contrast is so low it's enhancing my astigmatism

Due to Valve centering the content on every page like true web devs, at least the fact that the window is missing a click and drag or resize is fine if your steam window large enough

Has anyone tried using broadcast since they released it? I tried using it a few times a couple of weeks ago to try and stream some cs:go but starting the broadcast immediately crashed cs and steam and they both have to be closed from the task manager.

It works fine for me whenever my friend wants to watch me play anything.

It's not a button, navigate to a new page, try library.
Idiot, that button brings up a new window, it is nice though as it doesn't have to reconnect to the stream

Since it's a panel in the interface, I don't see it happening, you can change its location through the main uinavigator layout file, but it's not a dynamic thing, only changes on launch

That's what I want though, to have the stream in a separate window like before, not integrated into the main Steam window.
For some reason I don't have that pop out button, also using the default skin.

popout did not appear on my own stream, works on everyone elses
No button on my own stream as well, none on two different friends streams.
One running with Steam beta, not sure about the other one as he never answered me when I asked. (if the streamer not having beta has any effect at all)

I'm happy with Valve as a company, regardless of whether internal popularity parties exist or not. Jeri Ellsworth and external examples of flat management are pretty much all we have to go off. I find that critics of flat management are either prone to eccentric postulation or have ulterior motives therein. Valve is transparent with its goals and communicates well with its customers and followers. I don't fret.
