This is a pretty awesome tool. Displays estimated owners and stuff. http://steamspy.com/
Valve's random generator for link blocking chose me for today :(

I heard decrypting a preload on steam requires twice the amount of space of the download to succeed. Does anyone know if this is true? I only have 80 GBs on my ssd for GTA V. I want to know if I need to preload on my hard drive even though it will take hours to decrypt on that.
I heard decrypting a preload on steam requires twice the amount of space of the download to succeed. Does anyone know if this is true?
Yup. A preload is a bit like a Steam backup, except that it's also encrypted. When the game is released, the install process preallocates the space for the final decrypted and decompressed files, then writes in the data from the preload, unpacking it as it goes, then deletes the preload.
what just happened to steam. all csgo inv and matchmaking died. discussions and group chats went too. you could not even connect to your offline game in csgo
Decided to buy The Talos Principle while it was on sale, but the sale expired and I ended up paying full price. I was only notified after payment, at the receipt itself. Fucking hell valve.
if it only barely expired the sale you could ask support about it
He can, but he'll have to wait 4 weeks for a response which wont be related to the subject.
if it only barely expired the sale you could ask support about it
A friend of mine caught wind of it and made the mistake more bearable by promising to buy me GTA V, so all is well :v:
Wasn't there a big mobile app update supposed to happen weeks ago? Weren't the Vive sign-ups supposed to start last week? Source 2 became official a month ago, still no update since. Feels like with GDC Valve exhausted their quota for a while and now they're in their super duper quiet mode. So boring :|

Valve has become a money making boring company in my opinion (which is fine obviously), but I miss their games :<
just me? [t]http://www.7proxies.pw/a/op8y[/t]
its been like that for a week now i think
Valve has become a money making boring company in my opinion (which is fine obviously), but I miss their games :<
Looks like their years of work and time pays off, if you consider the great previews for Source 2 and Revive, so we will most likely see some new games coming this year or next year. I'm very excited to see how Dota 2 and CSGO will perform when they get ported to Source 2.
Great Source 2 previews? Where? Most places I looked at, including this one, reception to the workshop tools have been mixed. Consensus is Valve finally caught up to a couple of years ago, but UE and Unity are much better. That's anything, but great. I don't care if some Dota fans find it great. That's irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Dota fans? you got to be kidding me, probably 90% of the playerbase don't even know what source and how it works and you can't even push the engine to its limits with a game like that.
Not graphically, but I recall the source 2 performance video of Dota 2 to be rather impressive.
I agree with that but IMO it's just not that type of game that you would show all the latest technology in.
I agree with that but IMO it's just not that type of game that you would show all the latest technology in.
It wasn't meant to show off its capabilities but performance. But yeah, they need to get a new game (Left 4 Dead 3, for example(levelstreaming, improved AI director, content creation, etc.)) to show off the engine's main features to sell it.

He was talking about Source 2 previews. The only way that's possible is through the workshop tools. Some Dota fans/modders meddling with it found it impressive. Others didn't as much.
-fixed-
My Steam account is stuck in offline mode again, I tried clicking on "go online" but nothing happens. Any help? It's really annoying. edit: For a brief time it went online but then, back to offline mode.
restart pc, delete clientregistry.blob, have you tried those 2?
