Yes, for me this recent trend of "We can MOBA too" in the multiplayer-driven games industry is uninspired as fuck and will end up screwing up the industry itself in the long run (for reference, see the "We can MMORPG too" or the "We can open world too" syndromes too)
It's basically a toxic waste where the only survivors are completely unsavoury people
The same fate I hope will hit all MOBA games one day
Monday Night Combat was a fun game, the sequel was awful in several aspects:
Optimization, Balance, stability, bugs, matchmaking.
Also game being half moba, half TPS, attracted many players, but couldn't retain them.
Also, Original MNC came out in 2011, and it was adversited as a tower defense with tps elements, not really as a moba.
Anyone wanting a copy of Gun Monkeys? Got a spare one or two after I redeemed the original, some games seem to give extras away.
So far I given one away, but it appears a new one spawned where the last was, so I'm assuming I have more. Ill give as many as it will allow. If that's ok?

SMNC holds a special place in my heart as something that could've been so fun and yet missed.
It OOZED character and charm, the combat was nearly perfect, the issue being that it had MOBA elements tacked onto it haphazardly.
For example, Captain Sparks, he was fun as fuck to play, he was fast, had a decent melee attack and had that move where he could jump over someone and throw them back. So many times would you be knocked off the edge by some dickhead sniper only to use the teleport to save yourself, and use the jump over him move to throw HIM off the edge. I once saw captain sparks throw another captain sparks of the edge, only for him to teleport back up and throw the first guy off only to have HIM teleport back up and throw the other one one off...
And then there was the veteran... my favourite character ever, he had no less than three grapples, a grappling hook to pull people in and a homing bullet gun that could blast out a shockwave, combined with his dash ability (Turns out the fattest hero in SMNC is the most mobile and best assassin, we nicknamed him the "Fatassin'") you would zip around the arena and end up doing a ring-out out so many enemy heros it wasn't even funny, ...he also liked Strawberry Shortcake.
The problem was it was haphazardly strew together, not enough information was ever given to the player and how the game as a whole worked was never properly explained. In the end it boiled down to just a core group of about 20 people who were so good at the game that any new player just got rolled into the dirt and would quit in frustration.
Still it was a better "Third person Moba" that fucking SMITE I tell you what... Smite might as well not even BE in third person.

Agreed, I absolutely loved SMNC, had great characters, a great universe and really a enjoyable feel to the way characters moved and aimed. What brought it down for me, was always the unnecessary added Moba elements, that didn't seem well balanced or thought out, which resulted in a lot of frustration for both new and older players where some people knew what to do and others didn't.
The Moba elements also reduced the amount of time you had to just mess around in the area, it was a lot about getting the bots and then the annihilator bonus. I would of preferred if they strayed far far away from the Moba elements and just had a team death match style in a gladiatorial arena, like how the first one was trying to be.
The community was what made me leave in the end over anything, your typical skilled player was who knew how to dominate and rubbed it in your face afterwards, or the ones complaining for not playing 'correctly'. Tend to be really anti-newer players, with taunting and general nastiness.
Which is a really big shame that it never succeeded, it was a game I really felt could of been really successful if the mechanics were tweaked a bit. By far my favorite moba and defiantly favorite third person one.

See also: WW2 FPSs and, for lack of a better term, modern warfare FPSs.
I think you're letting your overly blatant dislike of MOBAs control your thinking a bit too much. There's trends. MOBA is currently the "let's shove it in anywhere" thing, much like how multiplayer in otherwise single-player series was a thing for a while. It won't end up "screwing the industry", it's bounced back from harsher things than one type of game failing.

That's all I'd let him do after TI.

Surprised they would even consider giving him a job after he let it slip that L4D3 and HL3 were being worked on last year
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/left-4-dead-3-in-development-and-looks-great-counter-strike-co-creator-says/1100-6419832/
Those were already leaked though at that point.
Also, the creator of ES said when he visited Valve he met a group of playtesters waiting to play L4D3 and when one of the Valve guys came he got asked if he came to test L4D3 lol
Counter-Strike : Condition Zero is still on beta since 2013 and not a single update or it being integrated to the main game
One of the missions in deleted scenes still crashes unless you have that beta
I dunno if this has been posted yet, but whatever.
It's a petition to improve Steam Support. I know it probably won't actually help but I feel better signing it. Edit: or not :v:
Really late to respond to this due to work, but I really don't care.
I know
I have a program in my path to do just that
It's not special
I said I am familiar with the process

I prefer running Steam Achievement Manager. I can add the appid as a "game" and then open up the achievement managing window for the "game".
Also, I was not implying that what I was doing was "special". I was trying to see if I could scare the shit out of anyone who happened to be unfamiliar with the process. Unfortunately my attempt got all cocked up by you gosh darn know-it-alls.
Now, I was trying to be nice, but then I saw this:
I am familiar with the process but anyway

It's a attempt to avoid yet another discussion about the topic
You are aware how many boxes it brings right?
Somone had to say it, in all honesty

Oh god, the hats have infected H1Z1 from TF2.

They haven't got ridiculous yet at least, its just reskins at the moment.
Mark my words we'll get some abominations somewhere down the line.
Few more games have been added with marketable items.
Subnautica seems to be testing this.

The other game recently added is called Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball

I want that Dev test item, but not for $500.

Also funfact
SteamDB converts it from the fullwidth
Why doesn't steam check these?
Few more games have been added with marketable items.

I like it a lot because I get to have a sloppy inventory

There also used to be that game Crimecraft Gangwars with an inventory right? Now it just gives a TF2 hat.

Unturned also added inventory.

Was wondering why I couldn't log in, cheers.
Has any of you thought about inflating some steam market prices?
I was looking at some exclusive Loadout items that would be easy to control by buying a lot of them at a low price since they're a one time use cosmetic bound to your account.
The only way to acquire them was the last summer sale. So anything that fits in the category of limited stock might work.
I'm not really in the need of money just curious how the market could be shaped by collaborative effort.
