I'm so glad I have never had to deal with steam support for anything.
I've had a total of 29 tickets over 6 years, 3 of which are still Open.

I've had it once where they don't even have access to the information I was asking about.

Does that mean if I make purchase it will wear off immediately, or it if I make purchase it will wear off on 13th of August or it will wear off automatically on 13th of August? I haven't made a purchase yet.
It means that you have to wait a month since buying something on steam before you can use the market.

ACCC v Valve Corporation had it's final directions hearing today. The actual meat of the matter will be heard in 2 weeks starting the 28th July to 30th July.

ACCC are the consumer regulator and act on the Australian Government's behalf. They've taken Valve to court (in Australia, the only place the ACCC have jurisdiction) over misleading and deceptive conduct, mostly due to Valve's constant failure to meet the consumer guarantees which are found in Australian Consumer Law.
Basically, Valve (before they started issuing refunds, and probably even after) were in violation of Australian laws which protect the consumer from bad products or services.
ACCC recently took the matter up with EA over Origin, and made [URL="http://registers.accc.gov.au/content/item.phtml?itemId=1186169&nodeId=0daf821a020a4ad0e8be57d8d69051e9&fn=Undertaking.pdf"]a binding agreement[/URL] with them which allowed consumers before April 2015 to get a refund if a product wasn't working, no matter the length of time that had passed between purchase and refund. I managed to get a refund in April for Watch Dogs (almost a year after I purchased the game), as that game was a PoS and didn't even work on my computer properly.
However, the situation with Valve is substantially more complex as EA have a business in Australia, where Valve do not. They're arguing that the relevant laws are not Australian. Will be interesting.
