The Vive demo in Chicago was supposed to start today, but it was cancelled. I'm really bummed since I didn't know until I was at Navy Pier

This is a place where I can ask about steam problems?, I could use Steam Support but last time I asked them a question they responded after 3 months in Spanish.
For some reason Skyrim Workshop decided to pop up the next generation of Daedric asshole and now somehow I can not update or download anything at all in my library.
It basically starts always first, it doesn't even download the workshop items, it just there.

Am Kindly asking if anyone have this problem before or a solution to this particular problem?

First, change download server from steam settings
If that doesn't work check /logs/content_log.txt
if you can decipher it's problems, may be able to fix it yourself, otherwise we may be able to help faster than steam support

Changed the server Download from Spain to UK and it magically works, Thanks
I have a problem similar to .Greninja here and literally only just sent Eric (TF2 team) an email regarding it. Hoping someone can help me. I'll copy paste the email here:
Hi Eric,
I'm in need of some workshop help, by this point it's pretty desperate as I'm unable to play the game without it lagging FPS wise, and I run a pretty powerful computer to put it lightly.
Recently, I subscribed to some mods and I noticed that despite having them all downloaded successfully, something was still trying to download "0 bytes / 0 bytes". It starts and stops continuously.
I've done a google, searched numerous forum posts and tried more or less every solution I could find, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to shake it off. Those being like flushing steam, fiddling with the appworkshop_440.acf file (modifying it, making it read only, deleting it), verifying the game cache, simply booting the game, unsubscribing from all mods, resubscribing, changing my download region, switching from Steam beta and vice verse, reinstalling steam and TF2 .. but nothing works.
While it normally wouldn't be much of a problem, this 'update' to workshop content lags my TF2 ingame to hell and back, virtually making it unplayable.
I have a feeling that this may be related to some Workshop files that were removed from the workshop and TF2 is constantly trying to redownload it, but of course to no avail due to the files no longer existing on the Workshop. I've come to this conclusion from the actual text in the appworkshop_440.acf matching the errors in the TF2 console. Those errors being, for example:
[UGC] Error: Call appeared to succeed, but failed to pull results
[TF Workshop] Info lookup failed for workshop file 458174511 ( EResult 1 )
and the string in the appworkshop_440 being:
"458174511"
{
"manifest" "-1"
"timeupdated" "0"
"timetouched" "0"
"subscribedby" "87700768"
"ugchandle" "0"
For this example. If you actually use the ID and try to go to the workshop page it's trying to download from, you'll notice that it no longer exists. (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=458174511) Of course though, a google search of that ID shows that it did at one point and google has even cached that webpage, showing that it was a Team Fortress 2 Workshop item.
This is one of many and I haven't a clue on what to do, I can't really do much else.
Reading what was said above, I also checked the logs/content_log.txt and this is what it's littered with:

.. it goes on and on, but you get the point. Changing my download region didn't help as listed in the email I wrote above too.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Pretty desperate here. :(
:words:
Tried this?
Exit Steam.
Navigate to your Steam installation directory. (c:\program files\steam\ by default.)
Delete everything in that directory EXCEPT the following:
steam.exe
steamapps directory (All of Steam's game files are kept here.)
Restart Steam to test the issue.

Thanks for replying.
Unfortunately it didn't work. It looked like it did work for about five minutes or so, but then it resumed where it had stopped and started the forever 0/0 byte download once more.
i feel kind of bad for breaking the "rules" and pre-ordering the steam controller
did anyone else do it?

What rules?
i feel kind of bad for breaking the "rules" and pre-ordering the steam controller

what? of course
I didn't pre-order it. Shipping cost made it more than I'd pay for it. Will wait if it hits retail over here. Hopefully it will. Also, impressions.
What rules?
"Don't pre-order" ?
well, valve never disappoints. EXCEPT for the paid mods thing but they quickly removed it.
well, valve never disappoints. EXCEPT for the paid mods thing but they quickly removed it.
Qualitywise with their games, yes. But some of their decisions were pretty bad. At least they show some form of communication with that Erik Wolpaw interview and with the recent Steam Refunds stuff.
well, valve never disappoints. EXCEPT for the paid mods thing but they quickly removed it.
Just because they're not EA, Activision or Ubisoft levels of disappointment, that doesn't they don't disappoint.

Does the new Steam Beta Update fix your issue?
Thanks for the help guys.
Eric (the Valve employee I emailed) replied to me last night and said he'd forward it to someone who understood the workshop code.

For the most part, it seems to have. At the time of posting this, it seems it no longer actively downloads the files. However, on startup it still tries to download something, as seen here:
[t]http://puu.sh/j9gQg/469f27b6ac.png[/t]
But on the bright side, it doesn't seem to be constantly downloading like it was. Although my ingame console (for TF2) seems to still be littered with the errors.
[t]http://puu.sh/j9h1T/cf14852311.png[/t]
And they all seem to be erroring out at files that once were on the workshop, but have since been removed. I believe that may be the problem to all of this, including other games as well, since this "0/0 byte" workshop thing isn't just happening to TF2.
