How about "Team Rocket Steam Stealer"?.
They do steal pokemons and stuff.
I hate having to resort to shitty hacks
There's only so much you can do
Being in the steam browser window would have worked better, but I can't run an openurl command from shell
That, or if /public/ worked in the skins override

oh yeah, speaking of controllers, I never bought the ps4 but I heard the controllers work with PCs out of the box unlike PS3 controllers. does it work well with big picture?
So Kotaku did an article about this weird Steam account which led to the discovery of a second and third weird Steam account:
The article was originally about this Steam account which is a member of over 100,000 groups. Since the article came out, the account has been switched to Private. The only friend that account has is this person who has also switched their account to private since the article came out.
Then this Steam account which is a member of over 4,000 groups and is named "Valve Community Group Owner" was discovered. This account has a Valve badge, whereas the first one has no badges.
While rooting around through the owner's account, I stumbled onto this weird account with a broken Steam profile image, and its only friend was...you guessed it, the owner of the other two accounts.
So I decided to be a goof, and sent friend requests to all three accounts (found out you can't friend request the Valve Community Group Owner account). The third account I mentioned (this weird account) accepted my friend request, which led me to sent a request to the owner who also accepted.
Kinda weird that Steam uses these accounts for managing groups, even though the main one with 100,000 groups obviously is not part of every group on Steam.
Oh, and the owner is also friends with these weird accounts that are private. I've sent friend requests to them all just for fun.

i made it to see how many groups i could join before steam would crap out
it started getting slower at 200,000 so i guess that's the limit
i made the profile public again

Ohh so you're behind it?
Wait, are you ;%?
EDIT: Yup, how did I not notice that before? God damn :v:
I posted this on Reddit when it popped up there last week regarding this account (the Valve one).
This bot was formerly known as TomB after Tom Bui, the Valve employee that made it. The TomB bot owns all groups on Steam as it creates them "under the hood".
Noticed that too

Just go to any newly released game then game hub then join group chat then press mouse 2 at the group chat's avatar and view profile and then view all people in the group, there will always be one ? avatared bot that made it.

Umm
is steam being majorly screwy for anyone else?
i updated a skin, and it would take forever for steam friends to go online, everyone would just be grayed out - even though going to my profile said i was online, and launching a game didn't say i was in game on friends but it did in profile. restarting steam or pc multiple times did nothing.
currently attempting a reinstall........
stuff like that happens maybe once a year but it is most definitely client-side and unrelated to recent updates; the reinstall is your best bet

Reckon the usual 'delete everything but steam.exe and steamapps' is a reasonable fix instead of uninstalling steam plus it's games?
re-installing didn't fix it, but it did just stop occurring after time passed.

glNext: The Future of High Performance Graphics (Presented by Valve)
Johan Andersson | Technical Fellow, Electronic Arts, Frostbite Engine Team
Pierre-Loup Griffais | Developer, Valve Software
John McDonald | Developer, Valve Software
Niklas Smedberg | Senior Engine Programmer, Epic Games
Dan Baker | Graphics Architect, Oxide Games
Aras Pranckevicius | Graphics Architect, Unity Technologies
Join us for the unveiling of Khronos' glNext initiative, the upcoming cross-platform graphics API designed for modern programming techniques and processors. glNext will be the singular choice for developers who demand peak performance in their applications. We will present a technical breakdown of the API, advanced techniques and live demos of real-world applications running on glNext drivers and hardware.

Advanced VR Rendering
Alex Vlachos | Graphics Programmer, Valve
Valve has been creating advanced prototype VR HMD's since mid-2013 that are more advanced than other developers currently have access to, and this head start has allowed us to gain a ton of VR-specific rendering knowledge that we'd like to share with developers who are actively working on VR or plan to in the near future. This talk will start with the base requirements of VR rendering, and it will progress into advanced rendering topics focusing on both performance and visual quality. First generation consumer HMD's are expected to require renderers to shade over 4 million pixels per frame at a minimum of 90 fps. Due to the wide FOV of these HMD's, each pixel ends up feeling lower resolution than viewing the same image on a monitor and requires better shading algorithms than rendering in non-VR. Higher resolution rendering and higher quality pixels at much higher frame rates than games traditionally target is cause for taking a step back and rethinking many aspects of rendering. Some topics that will be covered include: efficient stereo rendering, reducing rendering latency, saturating the GPU despite synchronization points, reducing pixel cost for low-priority pixels, specular antialiasing, constrained anisotropic lighting, and other tips and tricks relating directly to VR rendering performance and quality.

Physics for Game Programmers
Sergiy Migdalskiy | Programmer, Valve
Erin Catto | Principal Software Engineer, Blizzard Entertainment
Dirk Gregorius | Software Engineer, Valve
Dennis Gustafsson | Co-Founder, Mediocre
Glenn Fiedler | Senior Programmer, Respawn Entertainment
Game physics engines are used to create games like Portal, Titanfall, Smash Hit and Diablo 3. Games would be far less compelling without the realistic physics simulation that engages the player's intuition and stimulates their motion awareness. Physics has become a staple of the modern gaming tradition as we try to re-create and re-interpret the world around us. The Physics for Programmers tutorial brings together speakers from Blizzard, Respawn, Mediocre and Valve. Topics include numerical integration, contact manifolds, destruction, solvers, networking and optimization. The focus is on rigid body physics and real-time simulation in games. There will be a mix of introductory topics, recent algorithms and practical tips.
Takeaway
Attendees will learn fundamental elements and practical considerations for using collision detection and physics simulation in games.
Intended Audience
Programmers of all disciplines. Some basic knowledge of calculus and physics is helpful.

He's responsible for the Domino physics engine Blizzard uses in WoW, SC2 and D3.
I just noticed this while messing with SteamKit
SteamKit2.EPersonaStateFlag.HasRichPresence
The other flags are InJoinableGame, OnlineUsingBigPicture, OnlineUsingMobile, OnlineUsingWeb
Anyone knows what it's used for?

Actually nvm it's for the Xmas profile.
Today I was casually browsing the store and then noticed this.

I hope that some day, somewhere, a game combining all these features will be made.

This wasn't very hard to implement suprisingly

About bloody time. Though certain games (like Dungeon Defenders) are gonna have massive boxes.

It's a scrollbox
I didn't know you can stream games from one computer on another
this is probably one of the best inventions i've ever seen on steam
they just released an update to make the box go below the friends and achievement boxes
