You really showed that completely non-thinking bot who doesn't do anything but send a pre-programmed message who's boss.
I knew it was a bot already. I knew it wouldn't respond back. I just wanted to say something to it rather than remove and block like i usually do
You are acting salty for no reason, i suggest heading to the depression/anxiety thread in general discussion to vent your frustration
SAN DIEGO, CA - August 27, 2015 - Rocket League, the popular and critically-acclaimed sports-action title from independent game developer, Psyonix, is one of the top games of the summer. Having sold more than 1 million copies via Steam since its release last month, Rocket League is now officially heading to the SteamOS and Mac platforms later this year. To prepare for the SteamOS launch, Psyonix and Valve are immediately offering Rocket League for free to those who pre-order (or have pre-ordered) any of the Steam Hardware devices (Steam Controller, Steam Link, or Steam Machine).
Rocket League brings players a high-powered hybrid of arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem. Offering easy-to-understand controls and fluid physics-driven gameplay, Rocket League boasts more than 10 billion possible garage customizations and multiple match settings. As one of the best-selling titles of the year, Rocket League is already one of the top titles featured in multiple eSports leagues throughout the world and has been one of the most watched games on YouTube and Twitch throughout the summer.
"User reviews, sales of Rocket League on Steam, and its surging rise among eSports enthusiasts make it clear that the game is an absolute sensation," said DJ Powers at Valve. "In addition to being tremendously fun, our testing shows it plays brilliantly with the Steam Controller. So it was a natural decision for us to work with Psyonix and offer it to gamers free of charge when they pre-order a Steam Hardware device."
"We're extremely excited about SteamOS and Mac," said Dave Hagewood, Founder and President of Psyonix. "Our PC players have already proven how much passion they have for our game, and this is a great opportunity for us to bring Rocket League to an even wider audience inside the Steam family"
For the next 48 hours, Rocket League will be available on Steam at a 10% discount to celebrate the big news.
The free copy will be available to those who pre-ordered (from Steam or retail) the Steam Controller, Steam Link or Steam Machine. Customers who already own Rocket League but pre-order the hardware anyway will be given an additional copy that they can gift to a friend.

i did. they gave me a copy of portal 2 so far. hopefully it's "so far" because i already have portal 2 and would like rocket league instead.
It looks like they add Portal 2 and Rocket League at the same time, the license info in the account details is "Rocket League & Portal 2 Promotion". I preordered a controller a while back, and Rocket League is now in my library, and I've got a gift copy of Portal 2 in my inventory because I already owned it.
In other news, it's now been more than two weeks since the last Steam client update, stable or beta. That's a bit unusual; I'm being optimistic that it's because they're putting out a big change. But it probably won't be.

Yeah, I got them.
And here's the press release regarding the Vive
August 27, 2015 -- HTC and Valve are showing off two new titles coming to the upcoming Vive VR system at this year's PAX Prime in Seattle, WA.
The titles are Fantastic Contraption from Radial Games & Northway Games, and Final Approach from Phaser Lock Interactive.
Announced at the 2015 Game Developer's Conference, the Vive is the first complete VR system heading to consumers. It features a state of the art HMD, tracking and room scale for full movement, and the first dedicated VR controllers for precision input.
Vive developer kits have been available for free since May. To date, HTC and Valve have received over 10,000 dev kit inquiries and over 80 VR titles are known to be in production for the Vive. The developer sign up page has closed but development kits continue to ship through this summer and fall.
Later this year, HTC will offer the first commercial Vive units via a limited quantity of community and developer systems, with larger quantities shipping in calendar Q1 2016.

is buying the controller/steam link worth it?
I personally would have to handle the controller first before deciding, and I don't know anywhere outside of these major events I could try one out.
valve what are you doing

That's fine Valve, anything but a new game.
all the new l4d stuff is making me think they're gonna be talking about l4d3 soon
i hope theres some kind of day/night system in it. theres so much potential in that. imagine infected that only comes out at night. they could make a npc that only comes out at night and call it nocturnal or something..

Of which I will completely ignore along with a lot of other people.
I would be pretty happy to hear about an officially announced source 2 l4d game.

i'm checking the pax gamespot thing every half an hour to see if valve announced l4d3 yet
i know i know i shouldn't get my hopes up

While I like L4D series, right now I'd be happy with any game related announcement from Valve. Make it Ricochet 2 or something, just develop games again. (when I'll be bitching about L4D3 being pay-to-win and completely missing the spirit of L4D, remind me this post)
