did valve say when their showtime will be
did valve say when their showtime will be
...what show? I checked the pax site, there is no show.
Many are gonna be hyped for it.
As basically every modern multiplayer Valve videogame, fix the playerbase and then we can talk about playing Left4Dead
While I like L4D series, right now I'd be happy with any game related announcement from Valve. Make it Ricochet 2 or something, just develop games again. (when I'll be bitching about L4D3 being pay-to-win and completely missing the spirit of L4D, remind me this post)
I get that this is a joke, but I would legitimately like to see Ricochet 2. I never got to play the first and think it's a neat idea for a game.

The player base seems standard to me. Either get people who don't communicate at all or sometimes you get some decent people. I've rarely come across cunts while playing the campaign.
Versus mode, on the other hand, I have not played in years. I have heard that part of the community is toxic garbage.

The main problem with Valve as far as multiplayer games go is that they have no intention whatsoever to put the communities in line, so they just set to give the players the instruments to "regulate" themselves
Since I'm studying law at college, I can totally argue about how much that sucks
I would be pretty happy to hear about an officially announced source 2 l4d game.
And I'd be pissed off if that was L4D2: Source 2.
It's like they released Half-Life 1 on Source.
Question: Can i get the steam controller outside of U.S?
Question: Can i get the steam controller outside of U.S?
I ordered it on day one, and it SHOULD come on 16th of October.
Last tiny update to Steam Android app made it so that every message gets displayed twice.
so they just set to give the players the instruments to "regulate" themselves
so, pretty much like any other multiplayer game?
so, pretty much like any other multiplayer game?
Some examples would be nice
What's wrong with not regulating the community? I don't get what you're missing out on, just join another server that suits your taste.
When you give the players their own tools they can shape the servers into what they want. Instead of going out from predefined rules commonly set by people who have the competitive mindset.
Some examples would be nice
Pretty much any game with a server browser and/or that allows players to host their own servers. Valve at least has VAC, a lot of games don't even have that.

Too bad that the people you mentioned last are the people who abuse said systems every chance they get
Left4Dead multiplayer, as we talked about above, is infamous for this, to the point that if you make a move that's percived as subpar by your team mates (infected and survivors alike) you are garanteed to be voted for a kick and that vote passing every time
Aside from L4D, I could also quote the Dota 2 report system, which was born as a way to counter rage-prone players and is instead used by players to "punish" people who don't act as the reporter think they should
Valve at least has VAC, a lot of games don't even have that.
It's a well known fact that VAC banns aren't immediate and hackers often run rampart for weeks or months till the VAC system finally catches up with them and take measures
Half-Life (2) remaster for Source 2?
I admit, even if it were the same levels, imagine if they could flesh out what they had in mind a little better to provide us a better vision of the levels they wanted to give us.
I'm not talking about adding it cut content, I'm talking about making some areas a little bigger or more expansive to give us a feel for what they wanted to show us.
Coast felt really small. Imagine if it was mostly one level, no more crappy loading times; heck, they could balance out the weird mismatched map placement on the actual geographical maps.
...what show? I checked the pax site, there is no show.
oh silly me i thought that since valve was there they would announce something. i guess i don't know how pax works. if they won't do any shows, then why are they there? to show off the vive?

...yes. They explicitly said they're there to show off the Vive.
So this is absolutely new to me.
As late as last night, i've come across this stupid shit, where skype decides to crash, whenever steam game starts up. And i have NEVER had this problem before. It happens with Starbound (even without steam overlay), and Portal 2.
I know skype isn't the most ideal choice for any VoIP, but what the hell is this suddenly about?
It's a well known fact that VAC banns aren't immediate and hackers often run rampart for weeks or months till the VAC system finally catches up with them and take measures
That's by design, so hack devs can't tell exactly when their hack was detected. If hackers were banned instantly then the devs would be able to fix whatever if causing it to be detected more quickly.
As expected that L4D3 rumor I posted earlier from GAF was bust.

Surprising literally nobody.
I guess I am late but anyway. Based on Left 4 Dead.

I wonder what engine it runs on.

This is super cool and is probably a lot of fun, but man I really just don't like the humans' 18th century aesthetic of the old Warhammer universe :(
Melee looks sort of stiff too. A big reason L4D feels so good to play is how fluid everything felt. Vermintide's animations are visceral but...unsatisfying? Maybe feels different while playing.
