Valve / Steam / Steam Machines, General Discussion v2.0- "Is Steam Down again?"

Lots of people miss that, even though it's on the store page lol. Same goes for the dual-stage triggers. Hell, I even posted Woodsie's video about pCARS with the gyro on the last page.
I feel like this would fit here best, as I've been having some odd issues with very specific games on Steam.
All GoldSrc games, (Team Fortress Classic, Half Life DM, Sven Co-Op, etc.) have been getting really weird lag-spikes.
No matter what game, server, or map, I keep getting the same spikes.
Observing my ping, shows that I usually have ping of about 40-60, until it suddenly jumps all the way to 120-140 ping, and finally jumps back down to 40-60 ping. This happens at very specific intervals too, I'd say every 15 seconds or so, and each spike only lasts a short while, but it happens often enough to make the games unplayable.
I'd like to stress that I don't think it has anything to do with my internet, as almost all other games, like Team Fortress 2, CS:Source, CS:GO, etc., are having no issues like this whatsoever.
Any idea as to what I need to do?
Had a go on the Vive today at Eurogamer and holy shit that was an experience I'm not going to have again in a long time
they were also handing out these 'selfie' things at the exit

I know a lot of people have said that the Vive didn't really have any noticeable pixels whilst in use, but it's hard to take it from journalists without a grain of salt.
What were your thoughts about the Vive? Could you clearly see the pixels and such on the headset? Did it feel uncomfortable at all? Overall thoughts?
I'm torn between the Vive and the Oculus at the moment.

When I first put the headset on, the pixels were noticeable until my eyes adjusted to it, then you couldn't see them at all. The more time you spend using it, the more you feel immersed in the environment you're playing with and I think that's pretty great
People have been getting shipping confirmation mails from Valve regarding the "early bird" Steam Controller and Link. Check your mails, if you ordered them. Delivery date or estimated shipping date is Oct. 16.

I got a shipping confirmation today. It has a tracking number but doesn't specify which courier it's being delivered by.
It's shipping for European countries right now (it's going to take 2-3 weeks to come from China)
i didn't get a a confirmation mail yet and i went in for the early bird
I ordered mine through GAME, heard nothing. Will probably be closer to the release though.

it's nice that they added trading to the app but i expect some sort of exploit to come from this eventually
Can we please get group chats on mobile jesus christ.
This won't end well, but here goes nothing: should I buy Broken Age since it's on sale and I have a LIGHT interest about it?
Can we please get group chats on mobile jesus christ.
if only my friends wanted to use this feature, both group-group chats and temporary friend group chats
Am I the only person who is getting only tools and software in steam library 'recent l' sort?

for $8.49? personally i think that's a bit steep for a "light interest" considering the sort of game you're getting for that price. the game should be $10 by default.
[editline]1st October 2015[/editline]
wait until fall/winter sales when it goes on flash deals for 80% off
Valve sent out notices to developers about steam controllers.

I have a question about Steam refounds
Let's just say I have few games I've bought but never touched for various reasons. I purchased these games months or even one year ago
How high are my chances to get a refound for them?

Pretty sure you can only get refunds within two weeks of purchasing the game.
