Is it bad to just delete games right out of the commons folder, or must it be done through Steam?
If you do it that way by just deleting doesn't steam still count them as "installed" and tries to redownload them? If not then just your problem is having nice mess in "uninstall programs" because of badly "uninstalled" games.
They will still show in the list as playable, but you can remove it from steam at any other time, nothing will break, no worries.

Steam Recommendations are "SMART"
You shoot in both :downs:
i don't think steam's built in genres discern between FPS and just first person games.
How do you rate up a curator review?
They have really been going crazy with the speed of steam beta updates lately.

It's been almost one(blue moon for 2) update a day for the past few months
Although it's usually big picture and steam controller or streaming
My favourite two bugs where fixed in this rune period though, both on the steam client 👌

I feel like its been daily for almost a year know, except after a "stable" release.
As expected Steam HW aren't getting favorable reviews, not even after reviewers spent a month with them.
Just got my Steam Controller, haven't tried many games - and it's immediately obvious that each game will need it's own binds and tweaks - but I was impressed by how well it handled Age of Empires 2: HD Edition! I had the right pad as a mouse and the joystick as a d-pad for moving round the map. I then bound some build orders to the ABXY buttons, which meant I could easily build the most common structures (farms, houses, etc) in just a few presses. The trickiest thing is isolating units to give their own orders, but I played a game against the AI and won on my first try, so I feel like with some more practice the Controller could actually be pretty viable for RTS games.
I was expecting the haptic feedback to... feel a bit different though. At the moment I hear it more than I feel it, and I thought it would be stronger as I neared the edge of the pads, which I can't feel at the moment. Maybe that's an option in the settings.
And here is me sitting in all day waiting for the idiots are Parcel Force to deliver my Steam Link.
Yeah it 19:04 now, doubt it will be delivered today.
And no doubt I will have to go moan at Parcel force again, and find out the idiots have lost yet another one of my deliveries.
*edit*
Never mind it turned up. 20:00 delivery though.
I was just having fun browsing the web with the controller. It's already set up quite well for it. I tried playing some Rocket League but I'm too used to the x360 controller and the buttons feel too far down. I suppose if I keep using it I should get used to it.
Welp 1st impression of Steam Link.
Connect it all up.
It spends 5 minutes downloading an update, reboots, spends 2 minutes installing update.
Set up Steam link (language, PC to stream from..)
Enter 4 digit code on PC you are streaming from.
Repeat the above step 20 times before it accepts the code.
Launch game...
Get no audio in game.
Have to go back to PC and exit steam to get audio back.
Try again.
Have same happen again, try once more, steam crashes and take audio driver with it.
Reboot Windows, and decide Steam Link is waste of money.
*Edit*
Well it seems I am getting audio, but only via my TV and only after I put my TV volume all the way up for 80..
It disables my wireless headset (Corsair Gaming H2100) when I stream a game, and therefore I cannot hear\talk in either TeamSpeak or Mumble.
GG. Valve disable something that is needed in games by removing all possible forms of communication.
Wonder if I can get a refund on this defective product?
*Edit 2*
Well it seems it just mutes audio on the PC it is streaming from.
So I have to start streaming via the Steam Link, go back to my PC and unmute the audio on the PC, then go back and play the game on my TV..
Solved the issue, but it is a pain having to walk back to my PC just to unmute it's audio, so I can use VOIP programs.
Yet another common sense thing Valve or their testers (HA!) did not think about.
the wireless extender and microusb cable (which can't be used to charge) in the box are masters of stealth gameplay

Make a post in the appropriate steam community, unsure if there's one for the link, if not, beta discussion.
Valve update streaming a few times a week, all feedback is good feedback

Thanks for pointing that out.
Geez something that should have been one of the 1st things I done, yet I did not think about it.
Post made in the steam client beta group, So lets hope someone at valve sees it and works on making the disabling of sounds on host PC an option in steam.
i picked up a steam controller from game this afternoon, seems ok but i dont have much installed atm any suggestions of games with good configs to get used to the layout? i kept pressing the wrong buttons in fallout so switched back to keyboard

Whenever I plan on just browsing the Web I only use the Steam controller now, it works so well and I can just lean back in my chair back from the screen.
Has anyone else tried using the controller in a game at the same time as using other controllers? Namely xbox controllers. In games like Gang beasts the Steam controller seems to block all on my xbox controllers, wired or wireless. Don't have any other type of controller to test with. Not sure if it's just something on my end though.

I tried Nidhogg and Trine 2 on a friends PC with a Steam controller and wired 360 controller and it wouldn't detect the 360 controller. A couple days later I tried it on my PC and it worked. Don't know if it was an update or if its cause I'm on the beta client and my friend isn't.

Some people are saying you need to connect the non-steam controller first. I don't remember what order I connected my controllers in.
You should always be running beta with steam controller, there is always some weirdness without.

Yay they listened to my email
Tried to play a twitch shooter with the steam controller.
My thumbs are now gone.

Where did they go
i gave the official KSP profile a quick try last night and it seems really good, its even easy to build with the steam controller, the default settings for the right touchpad were a bit weird but i guess thats personal preferance
Can you use Xbox One and PS4 controllers directly with a Steam Link for local multiplayer or would they have to be plugged into the PC to work?

I think Xbox controllers work, don't know about DS4.
Xbone controllers work wired, while DS4s can work wirelessly.

They are now dust.
In other news, Chivalry is fucking great with it
