Anyone else with a link noticing terrible performance on it lately? Mine has been great for weeks but downloaded an update recently and now the picture and input from the controller lags and freezes a lot. I am not sure if the update broke it or if its just coincidence and my PC/router are being weird but it doesn't seem that way.
Well I opted in to the link beta updates as someone recommended somewhere else. It now stops lagging but only when the steam controller is turned off. As soon as I turn the controller on the screen pauses/freezes and any input from the controller is massively delayed (including the haptic feedback). Weird as fuck.
:snip:
It's very clearly related to the Vive. HTC made the announcement after all.
Can't change my avatar. Confirmed by someone else that they can't do it either.
-snip- can't read titles :v: [editline]14th December 2015[/editline]
Can't change my avatar. Confirmed by someone else that they can't do it either.
Works my end, had to restart the client for it to update the embedded avatar image though

So, I decided to restart Steam and nothing happened. Tried to manually open it, but apparently Steam.exe went missing. What do I do. [editline]14th December 2015[/editline] Disappeared as in completely vanished from the Steam directory. [editline]14th December 2015[/editline] Uh, ok, it came back. Spooky shit afoot.
Avast! by any chance?
Ah, yes. Things make a lot more sense now.
Is there a possibility to configure Steam Controller to be working CORRECTLY in non-steam games like in DOS or other Emulators?
Here's a guide that includes DOSBox: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=563774882 and Woodsie made a vid about emulators: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH3Wz9qPyc0

Another steam controller update coming:
Today we're shipping an update to Steam Beta that includes a large overhaul of the way we handle configurations for Steam Controllers. We chose to not include it in last week's main Steam client update because it's likely there'll be some teething pains, due to the amount of change involved. It initially enables a small set of new features, but more importantly, it puts us in a position where we'll be able to easily add more features related to community configurations. After you get the update, you'll be prompted to register your controller to your account. Doing this tells Steam which account to draw configurations from. After you've then personalized your controller, you'll go through a migration process, where we take any configurations you've made and move them over to the new system. This could take a little while if you have a lot of configurations, but it will be a one-time operation. The controller & account registration system allows you to take your controller to another PC and easily use your configurations, even if you're not the account logged into Steam on that PC. When playing games with multiple controllers, this also allows each controller to have its own configuration, a feature we previously weren't supporting properly. The backend changes we made to support this system also made it much easier to support community sharing of configurations for non-Steam games, so we managed to get that feature in as well.
So I now own a Steam Controller. I'm liking it so far, at least I'm liking it more than most gamepads I've used. Anything important I should know?
So I now own a Steam Controller. I'm liking it so far, at least I'm liking it more than most gamepads I've used. Anything important I should know?
You can customize every button, to a games that are on steam (even non-steam products, but you have to add them manually in order to get it working).
If this thing had advanced scripting support it would be the greatest thing ever. Something like Source's input scripting engine, or AutoHotkey.
I'm sure this has been discussed already but any news on when the holiday sale is coming this year?
I'm sure this has been discussed already but any news on when the holiday sale is coming this year?
Sources say December 22.
so neogeo is holding a humble bundle, and among the titles they're offering the 4 titles that appeared in the leak a while ago(Metal Slug 2, Garou Densetsu, Shock Troopers and Twinkle star Sprites). wich is safe to asume playmore will relase these as standalone titles in the "near" future(with the rest of the games in that bundle, maybe?). although i wonder if the versions bought through the bundle will later provide a steam key if they ever get relased on steam.
